I didn't grow up going to Costco, so getting a membership a couple of months ago has been a fun experience. The weekends are really busy, but doable! The food samples are great and have been different every time I've visited. Trying the samples has lead to a few purchases as well that I wouldn't have bought otherwise. This isn't my regular grocery shopping spot, but would be if I was buying for a family. Right now it's a stop every few weeks for bulk items. Meat, chicken sausages, yogurt, eggs, and a few other items here truly are cheaper than other grocery stores. read more

I prefer Costco to Sam's. My wife had switched her prescriptions to Costco for several reasons. We have always had good service here plus they have some good deals on food and clothing that save us money. My one gripe is that they don't have enough handicap parking spaces but free air is a major plus. read more

I'm confused as to a) why Costco has so few reviews, and b) why the rating is only about 3.5 stars. What's not to like about this place? It's well-run, it's clean, they have a huge selection of products, the prices are exceptional, parking is ample, the workers are competent and friendly, and the store is loaded with kiosks where free samples are dispensed. I actually look forward to my Costco visits. I typically refuel at their gas station as well, since it's at least 25 cents cheaper per gallon than any station within a two-mile radius. Originally, I resisted becoming a Costco member. I already buy things from Kroger and Trader Joe's - the last thing I really want is another weekly stop to complicate my grocery-buying process. But let me tell you - Costco is worth it. Of the three stores I shop at, Costco has slowly supplanted the other two as the most important. They also have great prices on tires, alcohol, and seasonal plants! I just found out Costco #3 Pizza seller in U.S. it's worth the wait when ordering in store and comes out hot. Just right amount of dough(not too thick not too thin), right amount of sauce too and huge amount of cheese, all up to the edges of crust so have very little dough that doesn't have sauce/cheese. Our favorite order is 1/2 cheese & 1/2 pepperoni . We love it piping hot that we sit down and start eating with soda/water and then take rest home for wife and other kid. read more

Continued to be impressed by this Costco. In just the last couple months since my last visit, Costco has installed some self checkout lanes and a kiosk for the pizza counter. It's refreshing to see businesses in particular use lessons from the pandemic to make ongoing improvements that will last after this time is over. The self checkout is great for people who only have a few items, and the food kiosk allows you to pay and get your food faster since the staff doesn't have to spend time checking you out. Each staff person I encountered was courteous and helpful. I'll be a Costco fan for life! read more

I don't want to be unfair with this review so I have to preface it by saying I was a huge Costco fan when I lived in California. The stores were large with a vast refrigerator room for produce. I was a regular and my children looked forward to our Costco runs because they knew it would end with the purchase of a Costco hotdog on the way out. When I heard Costco was finally establishing the chain in Kentucky I was delighted. Neither Costco is super close to me but I have checked them both out. My recent trip to this Costco was partially affected by Covid19 shortages. No toilet paper of any kind, no disinfectant wipes, only the store brand paper towels. All those items I have overlooked in my rating for this review. I find this Costco to be a mini Costco compared to my California store. The refrigerated produce room was disappointing. A lack of bakery items makes me choose Sam's Club over Costco. There were a variety of frozen meats that I purchased to stock my home freezer. So yes, the experience was ok but it sure didn't wow me. I will be back because part of our Buick purchase last year provided me with a $700. shopping card. At the rate I'm going it's going to take me several years to spend it. read more

Is a location. We were able to find everything that we needed in the store. First time in the store as we were traveling through Louisville. The set up was very similar to the one that we have at home. The store was very clean as well as the restrooms. The checkout lines did not take very long at all to go through. We got gas and that was the cheapest gas whole trip, which is unusual for Louisville. The only thing that I wished was they had bins for cleaning your windshields at the gas pumps. read more

Three years ago I reviewed Costco and gave them 3 stars. Today, I'm upping that to 4 stars. Before I begin, I'll start with this... you shouldn't have to pay to shop somewhere. I still believe that. Secondly, I still don't think you should buy half of the stuff here in bulk. I don't need 42 servings of your chocolate covered coconut clusters that come in at 150 calories per serving. Granted... I love them but that's why America is fat. Medium to large-sized families should absolutely go here for their bulk meat, veggies, tp, and paper towels. After visiting Costco once or twice a week with my friends this year, I've found a few other things to like about Costco. That is what is prompting the update. That membership price is worth it for the gas, free air, and rotisserie chickens alone! Gas is always 25-40 cents cheaper. You can pull up to the automotive area and tell them you need air and they'll do it. Finally, those CHICKENS! 4.99 for an entire chicken! You have to be kidding me. What a steal of a deal and very easy dinner when paired with a veggie. While stores like Costco still freak me out(as I mentioned in my last review about the movie Idiocracy), I'm not sure which company will be the default company in the future. I'm inclined to think Amazon will win out over everyone in the end but we'll see. I've become an Aldi devotee so most of my grocery shopping will continue to happen there. As for Costco, that cheap gas and cheap chickens are reason enough to consider a membership or borrowing someone with a membership to pick yourself up a chicken. In short: -- Still a big box store that isn't local. -- Cheap gas. -- Free air! -- 4.99 ROTISSERIE CHICKENS! -- Always check what they have on-sale(My girlfriend almost exclusively buys what they have on-sale... she's quite frugal). -- Croissants - They're legit. -- Kiwis - Go with the golden yellow ones. 5 Star ALERT! Not only is the bardstown road Costco CLEAN & Organized, it also follows mask protocols. The shopping is so pleasant, and it is always fun to reward yourself with a 1.50 hotdog + drink combo. I recently found Kingsford charcoal PRO (2 pack) for only $14. While this is all great, I came to rave about the meat selection from the butchery. Amazing cuts as the picture shows at very affordable prices. We don't shop here often, maybe every other month but we do really like our go to products: rotisserie chicken, psrmesean artichoke dip, Victoria's spaghetti sauce, the keto noodles (Healthy Noodles), hamburger patties and chicken tenderloins, and keto snacks (Coconut Clusters!). We occasionally also buy clothing items which have always been quality. It's expensive and a little too much for just two people but it also means we don't have to shop as often for our supplies. read more

I am a huge fan of Costco... always have been and if you have been to one then you certainly know what to expect. Coming from Costco stores out West, this store is by far the smallest I think I have been in. The aisle are actually narrower along with the end caps to the point that I actually felt a slight bit claustrophobic in the back of the store. They certainly do pack in as much stock as they can so I have not left the store missing out on getting anything that I came for. The floor plan is pretty much the standard of most stores, just in a smaller footprint. Sadly, this location is locked in, so it cannot expand. Having a chick-fil-a in the front only adds insult to the traffic at this location. read more

Costco Bakery at Norton Commons has the best cake! Their 1/2 sheet cake in vanilla with white icing & the cheesecake mousse filling is delicious! I had it at a wedding recently & I couldn't believe how good it was. It was pre-cut by the kitchen staff at the venue & served. The Bride & Groom had the top of a wedding cake made & the sliced that for themselves. It has 2 layers, you can have it decorated with roses & names with different colors available. There is a chocolate cake available as well. I ordered one of the white ones for a birthday. Of course 1/2 sheet cakes serves 48 & thats a lot, but at $24.99 you can afford to eat what you want & either freeze, give away or even throw away (I can't do that!). The icing is not as sweet or heavy as other bakery cakes I've had. I highly recommend these cakes for any event. read more

I heart Costco! Costco can be for everyone if you know what items are suitable for you to buy in bulk. How can you beat a year's supply of Kirkland Zyrtec for less than $20? It's less than *$15* when it's on sale!!! Or how about 5 months of Kirkland Flonase for less than $25?? I can definitely breathe easy on those two alone! That $55 membership fee just disappears along with my allergy symptoms! I also love their fresh supply of seafood. Their clams and mussels are as fresh as possible with prices that Wholepaycheck cannot touch. I am also a sucker for the kcups...Kirkland kcups are about $0.35 each...beat that. I mean, what's not to love about Costco. I guess the only thing is that I end up spending more than I planned to on every trip. There's always a great selection and the pricing is pretty great. Sometimes you can find stuff cheaper at Kroger. It's good to be aware of price points at other stores because sometimes with some items, Costco isn't the cheapest option. However, they have a really great selection and you can definitely find stuff that's way cheaper there than it is elsewhere. They've got food, clothing, furniture, tires, medicine, cleaning products, etc, etc. Plus they have free samples. And they're great. If you go during the week, there are far fewer people vying for those samples. I've definitely had a number of really great samples that introduced me to new items I ended up buying (hence the spending more than I intended to every trip). Their food court is also great and has extremely low prices. You can get a hot dog and fountain drink for $1.50. I would definitely recommend visiting/becoming a member. read more

Love Costco! Excellent service, happy people, great food samples, wonderful staples (now) that I can get here and sometimes no where else. Their pharmacy, and hearing/vision center are top notch and you won't beat their prices. Love their hot dog special - with onions - and the very berry sundae; I try to limit myself to one or the other. Their other services/vendors are very good, though not always the best price. Vacation packages have been outstanding! Their gas prices are easily worth the price of membership!!!! Liquor store is also great, especially if you need to buy in bulk for a party. Navigating the aisles to find something you know is there can be a challenge at times because they move stuff around all the time. And with an executive membership you will earn points($$$) that have to be more than the cost of membership or you can seek reimbursement. Tried Sams Club. I'll choose Costco every time!! The associates seem beaten down these days. Some of it is the demanding nature of Karen's these days but I can't help but think that management doesn't have a part in it. This afternoon I watched people push metal carts in a wide open parking lot during a lightning storm. That type of disregard for employees safety is inexcusable. Everything is clearly priced and if they are out of something just ask, they may have more in back. I posted several pictures of various stuff to show that they carry (offer) all most anything and everything. The snack bar area offers some yummy stuff at a very reasonable price and can get quite busy. Speaking of busy, the check out lanes can get crowded but they go fast.
