So yes there are some damaged packaging and returned items. You need to check things but if you don't mind doing that there are bargains to be had. They do have a 30 day return policy with your receipt, so keep your receipt. Each day is a different sale too. A different department will be on sale. You can call and see what will be on sale or check their website to see what is on sale that day. The website isn't always updated though. You can find some nice things, even furniture at great prices, you just have to look over things. I recommend checking it out and looking for those bargains. Have fun shopping.

Costco is a staple in our house for the necessities, such as milk, eggs, yogurt, fruit, and more. We never get out of this location with a bill that is anything under $150 and that's just fine with us. Yes, we are privileged. Yes, we buy something that we did not "need" on every visit, though we have tried so many winners making these all very reasonable risks. A fave: Rao's frozen eggplant parm. Two trays for maybe $12, and that is two-plus meals for the wife & I when we make up a salad & bread to go with. The kids? Eggplant? Pffft. Sure, I could knock the parking lot, or sure, I could knock the lines at checkout. But I have come to expect that, and I don't have any real problem. My knocks are the "seasonal" or "one-time" buys that aren't marked that way, so if I get something that I like, and it's not there the next time I go, then that kind of irritates me. I'm not talking about Christmas candy; I'm talking about a cereal, or a vegetable, or even a bulk snack. If I like it and I cannot get it the next time, then it makes me wonder why I purchased things in the first place. But oh well, I enjoyed it while I had it. The membership is worth it, and so is getting a snack on the way out. Whenever I hear that the economy is bad, I just look at the parking lot in Costco and remind myself how much freedom we have in our country and how far disposable incomes might go. Yes, I am privileged and I am grateful for that, but I love buying 10 or so winter coats for kids and donating them. The cost value is there for me, but the real value is the availability of affordable goods that I can give to those in need. Without Costco, I may not be able to do that.

I found parking to be relatively easy and walking in the place has an inviting atmosphere. I mention that because I've been in other Marshalls before where I left feeling depressed. I like the larger open-air environment but enough distractions to keep my subconscious engaged. As for the employees, I found them helpful, personable and were able to check me in and out relatively quickly. As for the clothes selection they had a decent supply of mid-level name brand along with some harder to find selections. Since I'm writing this at the end of May, obviously their focus isn't on fall or winter which was perfect. I actually applaud their effort to keep most of the clothes in logical order, in that there weren't too many clothes that were shoved in a spot by lazy shoppers. They have many sizes and selections in men's and women's as I noticed while I was shopping with my two teenage girls. That said from a teenage perspective my girls weren't too impressed with the styles provided in clothes and my youngest wanted makeup but didn't find anything to her liking. I'm just conveying her thoughts for the younger crowd. Marshalls is clean and has decent prices and they maintain a very safe and comfortable shopping experience. Complete disarray. Not only that, it didn't appear the store had been cleaned since I had been in it that last time I was there, several years ago. In a couple of places things had been spilled and left to dry. There were bottles of lotion, that were half empty, left to become sticky on the shelves. A torn welcome mat, still full price on an end cap. Open merchandise on the floor, left to be stepped on by customers. Shoes missing their mates. When I walked back toward the children/baby section I could hear employees arguing and yelling on the other side of the partition. Anytime & anywhere I can receive savings is a huge Blessing for me. I stop in at just about all of them in the city (& even out of town), however I prefer the Shawnee Mission Pkwy location the best. The manager & staff are pleasant & helpful which means a lot to me. I appreciate people showing up for work & just being there to assist customers. Kudos to all of them. You ARE making a difference!
