Extremely disappointing customer service experience at your store involving cashier ALEC and manager BRYANT. I presented a brand-new, unused Target gift card at checkout, which Alec over-scratched, erasing the last two digits of the Access Number. Rather than seeking proper assistance, Alec repeatedly attempted to guess the missing numbers. He then claimed the card had a $0 balance, a statement I disputed since the card had never been used. Manager Bryant was called over but was equally dismissive and rude, insinuating that I have a fraudulent gift card and insisting there was nothing they could do because the balance was $0. I personally called the Target Gift Card customer service line from the store and was told the card was actually throwing a system error due to the incorrect code attempts, not showing a $0 balance, and that it required further investigation. Both Alec and Bryant mishandled the card, refused to properly assist me, and displayed rude, dismissive behavior throughout the interaction. I request that Target look into this store's handling of the situation, address the behavior of the employees involved, and help resolve the issue with my gift card. read more

I hesitate coming to this Target because every time I ask for a product that is locked up (cleansers, pimple patches, etc), the associates that come to assist always act like I am severely inconveniencing them. Today, an associate slammed the case in my face. Mind you, I wasn't being indecisive or rude-- I knew exactly what I wanted and said my please and thank yous. This location has a sign up that new hours end daily at 5pm beginning Jan 13. This location used to be open until 10pm as the permanent sign proudly still states. My special needs daughter lost all her belongings and her home when her rented home burned to the ground in Altadena from the Eaton Canyon fire We came today to buy her some things to help her feel better. It is hard for her to understand and process how everything could just vaporize. She asks me, "Where did my bed go?" Frustrating in-store experience, inconsistent policies. Every time I try to price match, employees insist on using their internal version of the app -- and somehow, the prices are always higher than what I see on the public Target app. It feels like they assume I'm trying to game the system, when all I'm doing is asking for the same price listed on their own website. This has happened multiple times, and it's really frustrating. At this point, I'll just order directly through the app and skip the in-store hassle. I've also never seen Pokémon cards in stock for years, because they don't enforce the "2 per customer" rule -- so people just wipe out the shelves the moment a restock happens. And with the Switch 2, it's never once been available in-store since release. Meanwhile, they're still selling the original Switch at full price, even though it's been outdated for a while now. Today, I saw "Pokemon Snap" for Nintendo Switch in the clearance section. A game I've been waiting to be on sale. When I scanned it using an in-store price checker it just said "ask employee". When I asked an employee and they scanned it, he said $59.99 despite it being placed in front of a $39.99 price tag. I double checked the price when I got home at this location and it says $44.99 (when purchased online but they always give my fiancé the online price). Even the employee who scanned it looked confused because it was clearly off the clearance shelf. What is that about??? To top it off, the bathroom always reeks -- it's genuinely unpleasant every time. There were no TVs, but music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL La Canada Flintridge's Target location served its purpose on my three visits, and I would consider it again for a quick shopping trip. Obviously, it wasn't as robust as the standard locations which usually housed three stories of shopping experience. Disrespectful racist so called manager was denying me service trying to take away my items after I payed them with legal currency Target in La Cañada (965 Town Center Dr), I was just trying to buy milk and baby formula for my baby. The night manager, Mathew, takes my $100 bill, scans it, and says he can't take it 'cause the machine blinked red -- even though it turned green right after. I give him another bill, same thing - green light, but he still says no. The whole time he's giving me nasty, racist looks, acting like I'm doing something shady. I explain and show him how to identify a bill as a worked in customer service and he proceeds to say my money is not legit When I try to take my own bag with me to pay, he grabs for it from my hands assaulting me so yeah, I snatched it back. After him saying I couldn't take the items I paid for with my legal tender bill so I Then take my bill I get my things again I go to self-checkout, use the same bills, and it works. This is actually the worst target I've ever been to. Nobody works here. Self checkout is NEVER open and then there's just one register open so if you wanna make a quick stop good luck. I stopped by after work yesterday because I needed a few things and it was on my way home and surprisingly self checkout was open! So I spent maybe 15-20 shopping with just a hand basket and when I went to checkout self checkout was no longer open at all and there was one single register open and a HUGE line. Sure, its a smaller location but a few things stand out as "good" overall: - Located across the street from a parking structure, so finding a spot is never an issue - It's generally clean and well maintained - Occasionally they are low on stuff, but generally I find what I'm looking for. Legit the worst target location I've ever been! I work around the area and had to kill some time between classes. First of all there is one measly rack fro dolls spot which is a HUGE must check out spot for most target shoppers. The workers are extremely rude, and un engaged. I was in the self checkout and there were no bags. I asked a dude who was passing by and he pointed to the bags on the other side of the room near the cash registers. Thanks bud, I meant are there any HERE in SELF CHECKOUT! There are a bunch of things on clearance that are "online returns" and there was a lot of things mixed up and when I would check them for a price it would say not in stock or not in the system. This target has really get their shit together. I decided to grab a drink from Starbucks before heading out. There was literally NO ONE else in line. I placed my order and was told they couldn't put it in the reusable cup cause of COVID. Understandable. So I then ask where the restrooms are. He then like a robot in a monotone voice, points at the back. I ask him if I can leave my cart there so I can use the restroom. He tells me that if the employees see it they will take it. I explain it's already paid for but I don't want to have to log 3 bags into the bathroom. He says in the most surfer dude accent that he can't watch it because he's by himself. I ask him if he can make me my drink by the time I get back because at this point I've paid and he still hasn't started. He says yes and I go to the bathroom. I come back grab my drink and just see security and another employee chatting it up while a teen walks by them without paying for their items. Never again. I think what's worst is Them shutting the elevators down when people are still in the store, the elevator that leads directly to the top of their store where customers park their cars. Not sure if this guy was a manager or lead but he told me I couldn't use the elevator seeing that I had a stroller and a cart with items and apparently the elevator was out of service. I asked what other way I can go up and he told me the stairs, not an escalator but STAIRS, so I asked him if he was going to carry my child with my stroller up the stairs and guess what he did? Yes, this is one of those smaller format (I think they used to be called 'City' Target locations housed in the former Sport Chalet headquarters in La Cañada. That being said, if I want a larger selection, I would head over to the Pasadena location on Colorado near Lake Ave. This location is where I go for basic groceries and essentials. I don't understand reviewers who complain about the size and selection here. Perhaps Target needs to reconsider their decision to drop the 'City' identifier, or find a way to educate customers unfamiliar with the Weird Wide World of Retail. LOL. This is a very easy Target to shop in, because of its small size and edited assortment. Parking is never a problem and I agree with another reviewer who suggested parking on the top deck of the the garage. I found the restrooms clean on this visit-in fact an associate was cleaning them during my visit. I had earned reward money with my Target account that I wanted to apply to my purchase. I used the Self Checkout line as i only had 3 items. However, the register system wasn't cooperating. I did have to wait a bit longer than I expected for help, about 7 minutes by my estimate, but the store was relatively busy and it was late in the evening. The first associate did her best to figure out why my reward money wasn't applying to the transaction. I appreciated her patience and tenacity (but i did not get her name) She went and got a supervisor who quickly decided it was best to issue me a gift card for the amount I was trying to apply to my groceries. I found I had to manually enter the Access code but once I did that, and paid my balance due, I was able to leave satisfied. I have had similar issues with this rewards earned/apply to purchase at a couple of the other Target locations i use. Perhaps there is a glitch in the system. I've been wishing for a Target in my area for years and now my dreams have come true! It's in the former Sport Chalet building in the Town Center shopping center (which was the "new" Sport Chalet building, still miss the old classic building on Foothill). It's the small-format Target which is actually probably better and more efficient. Maybe now I won't drop $100 every time I set foot inside a Target! Anyway, this will be awesome for residents in the area who otherwise would have to traipse over to Pasadena or Eagle Rock for dish soap and deals on coffee. This target is never crowded and has a lot of clothes for a super good value. You can also buy groceries or food here and they have some really good ice cream cakes for birthdays or holidays. There is a Starbucks inside as well and they have a lot of different goods that you can choose from for a relatively good value. I also really like the self check out option and there are lots of helpful staff milling around the store. They recently opened their fitting rooms as well which are super clean and very well-maintained. There is lots of parking space here and it's almost never crowded. You can park right in front of the store and it is super convenient. read more

I came to this Target in La Canada to purchase an item that was locked away behind a case. After about 10 minutes, I finally got an employee to open the case for me so that I could retrieve the item (crest white strips). After picking up the item, she made me hand it over to her and told me to pick it up at one of the registers after I was done shopping. I asked her to give it to the first cash register so I know where it would be. Instead of saying okay, she gave me a surprised and annoyed look, but ultimately agreed to my request. At the time, I didn't say anything, but after having some emotions about it, I realize that I felt totally offended. I can't for the life of me believe that Target in La Canada is having every single customer pick up their items at a register. I just came back from traveling to wonderful places in Europe only to have to come back to a little town in Los Angeles to deal with racism. Probably the worst Target known to man. Every time I come here it I find a new reason to hate it. Even though the store is huge, they never seem to have the same amount or options as other Targets do, or they are often out of stock of many items. Additionally they are significantly understaffed, I've had multiple experiences having to wait a very long time to even find someone. Especially bad in the tech department, seems like only one person works in that corner, which is ridiculous. But one particular occasion really set it in stone that this is THE WORST TARGET EVER. I was checking out and needed to do 2 transactions. The second transaction had only one item (buying for someone else with their card). The cashier accidentally rang it up, and when I reminded him he simply had me charge the item separately in the "same transaction" and had me charge the rest right after. He also manually changed the price on this one item. I held my card up to the reader, it beeped and said "payment accepted". Standard. So tell me why the cashier says to me the transaction didn't go through and we have to ring EVERYTHING up again. I trust this guy so I say sure. I go home to find that both transactions had gone through on my card with "Pending" underneath. I knew that the first transaction had indeed gone through. So I go back to the Target to solve the problem. The cashier doesn't know how to look up the transaction on the computer. A second guy tells me that I'll have to ring it up again, be charged, and then have THAT transaction returned to me (which makes absolutely zero sense), or saying I have to come back BEFORE NOON the next day or the transaction will "disappear" whatever that means. And a THIRD man named RYAN at the front door butts in and tells me that because it's pending it won't actually go through and that it "didn't go through on [his] end" so I should be patient, wait a few days and it will be resolved. Note that Ryan had continued to interrupt me, not let me speak my piece, and had stepped in multiple times while the other two tried to actually help me. In the end they offered me a $5 gift card for my troubles, and could not refund me because they had been pending on my account, and Ryan reassured me multiple times that the first transaction would not get charged to my account. WELL GUESS WHAT RYAN?! BOTH the transactions ended up going through!!! The exact OPPOSITE of what he promised would happen. I was charged TWICE!! I ended up calling my bank to get it resolved instead of going down to that Target a third time, although I wished I could've rubbed it in Ryan's face how utterly wrong and rude he was. This particular Target location in La Cañada is one of my favorites since it is close to little restaurants and other shops in the plaza adjacent to it. I recently visited in the early morning in hopes that I'd snag one bottle of Lysol wipes, but unfortunate the shipment showed up and I never saw that aisle stocked up...and I visited multiple times that morning. Otherwise, the store is easy to navigate through since it's only on one floor. I love grabbing some of my favorite skincare and makeup products and trying new snacks and beers. I've been to this location twice, and each time encountered bad behavior from employees who have forgotten that their paychecks are paid by their customers. Not my favorite Target (because there isn't much to browse). It is very small but I guess you come here and get straight to the point (unlike the other Targets like the one on Lake were you can browse forever and ever). This Target is convenient because you can do a quick in and out. Parking is ample and it is located across from a very busy stores/restaurants including Home Goods, Sakura, Panera, and the Habit to name a few. It is super organized and clean- probably the nearest one I have ever been too. Staff is always friendly. This Target isn't super busy either so you don't wait in long lines or bump carts down the aisles. It is a very calm shopping experience. I definitely do not overspend here so that's a plus. Sometimes you can find good items on clearance (I found some cute booties for 17$). read more
