When i shop for furniture, I'm frequently shocked at the prices and feel that it's likely I'm paying for showroom overhead as much as quality. I'm not a "fine furniture" buyer as my experience is that mid-level furniture lasts long enough between kids wear and tear and moving, etc. to serve me before I feel like I want to change all the colors and textures anyway. This makes Sam's a great place for me to shop. I'll depend on my own sense of putting pieces together to build a nice look. Sam's provides a decent selection at a good price. And, I very much appreciate not feeling that the sales people are hunting me. Their clearance room is always worth a visit! If you want to spend $1,000's, head on up to Stacy's and blow your bucks in the stained concrete gorgeousness of their multi-level furniture warehouse.
