Since I was on my way between two work function I had no time to head back home to pick up what I forgot. And to add insult to injury, I had the head of my deodorant pop out and fall on the floor. So needed to restock on at least one item. I am sure I had more items on this visit to get, but I was hyper focused on the need to not stink. First, I hated how hard it was to navigate in the parking lot. Why did it feel like I was a pinball going up the track to plink my way down to a parking spot? Next, the layout of this store was a bit hard to understand. I felt like this location didn't follow the norm for the layouts that stores usually follow. I was about halfway through the store before I felt like giving up and finding a register. Not to worry, I did find my deodorant, saving me another stop on my way to my destination. Made my way to the registers, and I feel like this location pushes you towards using the self checkouts. There were not many registers open that allowed a customer to be dealt with by an associates. In fact, I feel like there were more associates surrounding the self checkout area. With that, why only have four of these and push a majority of people here. Not everybody knows how to use them, and with that, not everybody SHOULD used them. read more

Last week my wife and I purchased 2 Chenille Bath Mats for $20.00 each. They are labeled as Machine Washable and Fluff Dry. They are not MACHINE WASHABLE EVEN ON THE GENTLE CYCLE. They absorb so much water that they cannot even be put in the dryer without the danger of burning out the dryer motor. THE EDGES OF THE MATS UNRAVEL DURING THE WASH CYCLE AND ACCUMULATE ON THE SIDES AND BOTTOM OF THE WASHER. I wish we had saved the receipt so we could return them. At this point I am just posting this to warn others. I love Target but this is enough to make me stay away. read more

This place recently underwent a renovation. The only real changes I saw were they added a Starbucks although it has very limited selection, redid the customer return desk, and also redid the Cosmetics area. Other than that everything looked the same except for the new paint outside. I would say it's an average Target. Nothing spectacular and I would definitely prefer a Fred Meyer over this place. read more

Wow went to your Dover location to get an item, was over charged for the item. Took up to customer service and explained the issue and was told to go to the back and take a picture of the price and bring it back, not my job I don't work in your store. Along with a nasty attitude and more witnessed an elderly lady being told she would have to go outside to find a cart we don't have people to do that. We are spending our thanksgiving weekend in Rehoboth Beach. Apparently Dover target is the closest one to where we are staying at. Drive is around 50 min to get here. I needed to take advantage of the Black Friday deal where they are offering $250 with a iPhone activation on Verizon with an installment plan. Got here around 7:10am and already there were numerous customers before me. It's all good because I don't mind waiting. The cell phone booth is in the back and I was able to check in with the lady. Told her the style and size of iPhone I wanted and she put me on the waitlist while they help other customers with their new activations. It's cool I can see the waitlist on my phone and how long I've waited and how many customers before me and their wait time as well. I waited around like one and a half hours before I was ringed up. This brother Alex was so nice. He was able to make the process very smooth for me. Very competent guy and really knows what he's doing. Explained everything to me and made the upgrade for me a breeze. Really recommend this guy as he truly genuinely cares for the customers in line. Everything was a breeze, took like 10min and got it up and running and my $250 gift card. Awesome dude and appreciate his service. Another cool perk during my wait on the waitlist is that target game me a free coupon to redeem a tall size coffee from its in house Starbucks. Really appreciate this perk and that cup really warmed me up. I'm starting off my weekend here in Delaware in a tone. read more

My hometown Target has had a massive makeover, and I love it. This is by far the cleanest, most well organized Target I've been to in years. Really happy with the expanded/reorganized Clothing & Accesories sections, the new Starbucks, and the Customer Service/Exchanges section. My favorite upgrade by far has to be the Beauty aisle - everything is more manageable and approachable now that the aisles aren't so tall and close together. PLUS there are often free samples (i picked up a free mini OGX hairspray on my last visit!) . Really happy with the changes here. I look forward to coming back when I'm in Dover again. read more

Love love love Target trips, was not a fan of this one. Went to buy new slacks for a trip I'm taking, and went to the changing room to try some one. This video attached is the sight I was met with. I understand everywhere is understaffed and the employees may be busy, but there should still be a certain level of upkeep that is necessary. This is especially true when I saw at least 20 different employees during my half hour in the store. read more

It appears Target Dover Delaware is still struggling with the check out process. I was told two weeks ago, the policy for self-check out was changed to ten items or less. Despite very limited use of the self-check out lanes, I with eleven items was directed to the only register open with several customers already waiting to pay. Perhaps, this limit on self-check out lanes is an effort to reduce theft? However, it that is the case, Target should have registers staffed to manage the people who are actually contributing to Targets bottom line with more than ten items. I spoke to the person in charge, most likely not an actual manager, and was told due to this store not being high volume, staffing was limited, and with a call out, one register was all that could be opened. Critical thinking and logic should therefore follow. Would it make sense to open two of the four self-check out lanes for all? In fact, three customers at the register lane only had 5 items or less. This policy is not working. Personally, I can relate to on-line shopping becoming the better alternative. read more

Please get the check out line situation figured out! I said this to a manager at the beginning of the pandemic. Shoppers start lining up back before the registers and no one seems to know if the line is for self check out only or whether there is one line regardless. Everyone is asking everyone else. Really?? Put some directional signs up or designate an employee to direct people. We are supposed to be distancing, not walking up to one another asking questions about how to navigate to check out. This location lacks experienced management. The store is always a mess, the marketing is never updated. I walked into this location today at open (8am) and the store was filthy. I am writing this review on the Target in Dover De. I am short, getting things off the top shelf if stock is not kept pushed forward is impossible. Much of the time I have to go to kitchen wares and get something that will help me reach an item and pull it forward to get it off the shelf. The items on the shelves tend not to be priced or not priced correctly. I want to know before I am in check out the price of what I'm buying without having to find a price reader. I regularly pass up buying unpriced items and purchase them elsewhere. I have complained about this to clerks working there and have been offered legal info stating that Target has to sell me an item for the price that is on the shelf. I then did just that with 5 items with a savings of $19. Afterwards I showed my purchase and savings to their manager, who was obviously not at all concerned or even interested. Since they approve, I have continued with no objections from the cashier to request that I be charged the price stated on the shelf. The shelves packed with laundry detergent is hardly ever priced correctly, you can almost depend on buying it $5 or more ~less than it should be. read more

Can't believe I'm saying this but go to Walmart if you are shopping for groceries. Target runs a scam with their coupons and will let uninformed customers pay more for a single grocery item when they could have gotten two for the same price. Even when there are no coupons and it is just the advertised price. They will happily let you pay more. And when the store was contacted and she (store rep) listened , she offered no resolution and clearly just wanted the phone call to end. I will encourage my friends not to shop there because of their scamming business practices. At the end of the day.....Walmart really is the better deal. read more

Please be informed, TARGET, DOVER, DE, Management - Needs to keep there store up-to-date with the Covid19 Safety Measures such as: need Hand Sanitizer wipes at the Entrance to store; need carts wiped down after use. I was at the Target Store, Dover, DE on Wednesday, 9/9/20. Upon entering with my Mask on -- No Hand Sanitizer at the door, people were returning carts and next person walked up and grabbed cart on proceeded to shop. No carts were being wiped down. read more

If you're Black and want to shop at this store you had better be wearing your Sunday best, otherwise the sales associates and Loss Prevention (who think they're slick but aren't) will follow you around, stare at you, glare at you, and annoy you until you either snap at them to get out of your face or drop your stuff and leave. If you linger in any one aisle too long sure enough an associate will surely find something to fix up, tidy, or rummage around in while you're there. Most of the time when I'm in the make-up aisle this happens. Maybe if this Target hadn't gotten rid of all its make-up lines for Black and darkskinned women I wouldn't have to sit for 10 minutes swatching goddamned concealer on my arm to figure out which one doesn't make me look like an ashy ghost. Half the time what few products for dark skin they DO have- Maybelline's Fit Me! foundations- are gone, and the entire section is a mess. I no longer shop at this Target because of how annoying their sales associates and LP are- btw, LP walks up and down aisles dressed at plain customers with either a combination of weird shit or nothing in their baskets. Usually I love shopping at Target but this location is the worst in the state of Delaware. The bathrooms are grubby with doors that rarely latch, yesterday there was feces on the floor and something slimy on the sinks. I wonder if management realizes that if the bathroom is dirty it will all get tracked to the rest of the store. Tried to shop for several everyday items (bandaids, face cleanser and notepaper) which were either out of stock or just a mess on the shelf! Will not return anytime soon. read more

Target in Dover is the best Target ever. Today I was in another Target, in Newark, and even though it's bigger and has more things to offer, it does not have the same appeal, and warmth the Target in Dover offers. Stores aren't just goods, they are people. People who work there and who make you feel safe and at home when you walk through the doors. I have to give the highest praise to Matthew, the Team Leader in Dover who has a magic touch. His team rocks! You won't find a better service, better care, warmer welcome anywhere else. Always plenty of assistance. They make you feel like you matter. The shelves are stocked with supplies, the hand sanitizer stations are available on any corner, the self-service check out stations are cleaned non-stop, the workers are friendly and always helpful, the restrooms are tidy. What else do you need when you go shopping? Better prices? Target offers that too. If you're in Dover, stop by Target and you won't be disappointed. They also give back to the local charities and support many good programs. read more

Love the store and the curbside service but since its launch the program has definitely gone down hill. It now takes hours to fulfill small orders and you'll sit in the designated spot sometimes for more than ten minutes. It's really not that convenient now... Very disappointed. read more
