This is one of the newer Target stores on the north side, having opened up whilst the pandemic was raging I think. Plenty of parking here. I haven't been inside, but I have used the Drive-Up option a few times when something I wanted wasn't available at the Target that's a bit closer. But they are sooooooo slowwwww. I've marked the app to let them know I'm on my way when I was 5-10 minutes out and still have to wait 5-10 minutes when I get there. So that's a little annoying, but oh well. They're right by the Edens and you can drive directly from the parking lot of this shopping center to the freeway. read more

Wednesday December 11th, 2024 Today, I had the most disappointing experience at the Target Chicago Mayfair location -- my first time shopping at this store, and I left feeling humiliated and disrespected. I've been a loyal Target customer for years, shopping at your store's multiple times a week, but this experience has left me questioning whether my business is valued. Here's what happened: I placed an online order for an air fryer for curbside pickup. While at the store, I decided to grab a few additional items. I paid for those items at the register, picked up my online order at the customer service desk, and proceeded to leave the store. As I was walking out, a male security guard with a long ponytail stopped me and asked to see my receipt. He stared at it for about 10 seconds without saying anything or asking any specific questions. I explained to him that my online order would not appear on the receipt because it had been scanned separately at the customer service desk when the item was handed to me. What struck me most was what happened next. After sitting in my car, I noticed that this same security guard wasn't stopping anyone else. Several customers walked past him without being questioned or asked to show their receipts. Instead, he stood talking to his peer with his back to the door. Feeling targeted, I went back into the store to speak with a supervisor. When I asked the security guard to call for a manager, he radioed someone. Not seeing anyone respond, I approached the customer service desk myself. A young woman eventually arrived, and I explained my deep concern: I felt racially profiled. I was the only customer asked to show a receipt, and no one after me had their receipt checked either. Her response was dismissive and lacked any empathy. She apologized dryly and said she would give me the number for corporate, showing no interest in addressing the issue in the moment. I advised her that consistency is key: either check everyone's receipt or check no one's. Anything less creates the appearance of discrimination. I even suggested pulling the security footage to confirm that no other customers had been stopped. The security guard then tried to claim he had checked other receipts -- but I watched him, and he absolutely had not. Target, this is unacceptable. No one should leave your store feeling disrespected, humiliated, or like their loyalty is taken for granted. The actions of your staff today, particularly the security guard at the Chicago Mayfair location, made it clear to me that I was singled out unfairly. Your team must do better. Train your staff to treat all customers with fairness, dignity, and respect. Consistency in receipt-checking policies is non-negotiable. Target has been my go-to store for years, but today's experience has left me deeply shaken and questioning whether I will return. To my fellow shoppers: I urge you to pay attention to how Target enforces its policies. My experience today at Chicago Mayfair felt deeply rooted in bias, and I hope no one else has to go through this. This is a newer, shiny Target but it doesn't have everything you'd expect. Not many clothes or housewares for instance. Not sure how they decide what to sell but maybe it's targeted (see what I did there) at people who stop in for things on the way home up the Edens. I mostly wanted to mention that one of the shots I received in the pharmacy was so ouch-less and gentle that I use it as a standard to compare all the other shots I received over the last few years. read more

10/22/20 - Target was suppose to open on 10/25/20, but they opened early on 10/21/20 instead. Target is located in the new mall on Foster Ave directly off of the exit from the Edens expressway. They are also going to have a new LA Fitness Signature Club on the second level above Ross & a Chipotle across the parking lot from Five Below. There are a number of other buildings w/spaces TBD in the near future. To the south of this Mall is the Filipino Mall w/Seafood City as the flagship anchor,Jolibee's a Filipino fast food chicken, Max's Chicken, Valero's, Red Ribbon Grill City I side Seafood City. The Target & this mall for me is in a great location for me as it's 1/2 mile from my house. The store itself Is your typical Target store, but it's brand spankin New. read more

Went to return a product and handed the chasier the receipt and a gift receipt. The cahsier looked at both receipts and stated I'll use the gift receipt since it's easier for me. When I told them that I didn't want a gift card and wanted my money back I was told the return qas complete and they couldn't change it or give me my money even with the valid receipt in hand. I'll be honest with you, I don't know how to quite feel about this location. The parking lot is very congested and confusion turning anywhere in from Elston. If you turn from Foster (either direction) you are more golden. The lines for the cashier are very small, tight and awkward. Even for self-checkout lines. The layout is nice and definitely appeals to the consumer where you'll probably spend more than what you came here for. But, their alcohol section is lacking and all of the cashiers (there were 4-5 this day) were under 21. So avoid this location at the busy hours ( ex. Saturday after 4pm) and don't get alchy from here otherwise you'll be stuck in what feels like purgatory. read more

It's so new that none of the shopping carts have bad wheels yet. It's also very clean. It's one of the smaller targets, so they have less selection, but they have all the better-known brands and basics. read more

This is one of the smaller Targets around the city. I was surprised -- I kept thinking, there must be escalators to the second floor somewhere. Nope. No escalators. No second floor. All the regular departments are there, just a little bit smaller than I'm used to. But hey, with its location almost on top of the Edens Expressway entrance, I'm guessing it's designed for customers who are dropping in on their way home from wherever. I wandered through the whole store, because I arrived way too early for my scheduled Covid vaccination in the CVS outlet in the store. For not the first time, I wondered, when did Target prices get so high? It used to be, Target was a good value. Now, it seems like the only items that are low or moderate in price are pretty junky. I was looking in the women's clothes/shoes/underwear departments, and the quality of everything I saw was piss-poor. The material of the clothes was so thin, you could almost see through it. The sock section was picked over; some racks were completely empty. I price-compared items in the frozen food section with what I normally buy at Mariano's or Jewel. Everything cost significantly more. I will say, though, that I found small avocados for $1.00 each, and I bought two. That's actually getting to be a reasonable price for avocados lately. The one area that seemed to be well-stocked was the TV sales. There was a huge display of ginormous TVs. I didn't look at the prices, since I'm not shopping for TVs. My two interactions with employees were pleasant, and the employees were helpful. That does make a good impression. Target used to be a destination store. They had well-designed, high-quality items in just about every department. We called the store "Tar-jay" because it was more high-class than any chain it competed with. Those days are gone. This is a very nice Target for what it is. It's not a full-size store and you will be disappointed if you think the selection is going to be extensive. However it's the only Target in the area and it has pretty much all the essentials. The one thing I don't like is that the only lanes that ever seem to be open are the self checkouts. Would be nice if there was at least one lane manned by an actual human being. read more

This new Target location is my favorite Target so far. Always clean, new feel and the staff is very friendly. I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes. When they see more than three people in line they make a huge effort to open a new line. And I love the fact that a staff member is always wiping down the carts as they are brought in. I love the new set up they have. Aisles are much easier to move around and the store seems much brighter with the new lighting. read more

This is the worst Target. This Target is so strange and not people friendly and is super boring. No cashiers but 3 young employees talking together by the exchange/return counter. This Target does not believe in helping customers. I am not in Target to check my self out when I have an injured hand. Then I have to ask for help and explain my medical problem is so awkward and Not the way customers should be treated. I only buy the few items I absolutely need in places like this. Maybe Target doesn't realize that talking to the cashier is part of the entire shopping experience. read more

I really love this location, the parking lot is a bit of a headache but the store overall is handled extremely well. All employees are helpful, wearing masks correctly and carts are sanitized when you enter which is SO NICE TO SEE!! Its a little smaller than normal locations but i'm always able to find whatever i've needed with no issues. The self checkouts are well set up but tight, everyone is spaced out well though which was a huge plus. Huge shout out to Mikey - i think that was his name.. over at Starbucks, he took the time to explain different drink ingredients on a few of the new menu additions and was beyond patient and great in doing so. I have some allergies that i need to look out for so this was beyond helpful. What a great experience. read more

I love this mayfair target for many reasons. Their pharmacy staff is so professional, accommodating and helpful. They care about the custOmer and offer info on medications. This where I get my covid boosters. Their Starbucks staff is personable and efficient. the staff is always ready to help find stock or assist with checkout. The greeters are welcoming. This is my stop to pick up pantry items and household products. I always walk aways walk away happy with my visit to this neighborhood store. Thanks! read more

Worst Target ever. Was so looking forward to this store when I heard they were opening as it's less than 5 minutes from my house. So disappointed. Much smaller than a regular store. Limited selection and the prices seem higher. Only has self check out. Only go in if I'm in a hurry otherwise I'll drive the extra 15 minutes to Niles to shop in that Target. They should have put a second floor of shopping instead of worrying about parking. read more
