Jamie W and I just got off the train from Barcelona and were a bit too early to check into our hotel. As we rolled our luggage on the cobblestone paths of central Sitges, we spotted this modest looking Italian restaurant who were still serving lunch under umbrellas in the alley. We could tell it was a spot targeted to the locals, but we were pleased they had menus in English.
We kept it pretty light and fortunately made fine choices on the three dishes we ordered. The first was the refreshing 13€ Salad of Tomatoes, Burrata & Basil which was actually topped with fresh pesto and accented with sun-dried tomatoes (photo: https://yelp.to/mBJukgpr04). The burrata was a tad refrigerated but still creamy. Our next dish was the thinly sliced and nicely prepared 12€ Eggplant Carpaccio.
Topped with pesto, shaved parmesan, pine nuts, and arugula (photo: https://yelp.to/CQDyy1BiCW), it was the ideal light veggie appetizer. Our shared main was the 17€ Spaghetti Agliolgio with Prawns. It was a simple yet satisfying dish where the pasta is tossed in garlic, olive oil, and a pinch of chili flakes. The prawns were skewered with roasted cherry tomatoes (photo: https://yelp.to/OOGRdaT_wt). It was the right amount of food. Now where's that hotel?
