Many gluten free options. I had the lobster enchiladas. They were GF and safe! They chunks of lobster in there were definitely a great amount. My friends surf and turf burrito was massive! She had enough leftovers! It's a lovely restaurant. Nice covered outdoors space but restaurant has nice decor! Prices were worth it . I'm Definitely going back and recommend if in the area. When you visit Stonington Boro, you're most likely assuming this quaint, quiet New England village…read morewould be known for traditional seaside fare: crab cakes and lobster rolls, with corn on the cob and a bit of coleslaw for sides. You'd be right, there are restaurants here serving such standard cuisine, but what makes a trip to the Boro special is a trip to Milagro Cafe, serving the best Mexican food and drink in Southeastern Connecticut. Having eaten in dozens of Mexican restaurants from Texas to NYC over the years, my wife Pat and I were thrilled to find Milagro: sure, it has traditional burritos and tacos dishes, but the chef's take combining Mexican fare with an American twist is special. Last night I had braised beef enchiladas, while Pat chose roasted pork with tomatillo and cactus sauce-- both incredible. And the drinks! Milagro Cafe has a truly amazing bartender in Rebecca who, given her talents with margaritas, would be a renowned mixologist if she were in Manhattan ( although she'd never let anyone call her that.) She creates an amazing array of original margaritas, whether her classic Patron ( my go-to) or one of her seasonal creations ( Pat loved Rebecca's mixed berry margarita, a summer selection)...better than any we've ever had, anywhere. When you add in a warm, professional and attentive staff led by Theresa, who provides service, a smile and smarts with everyone who enters the cafe, you have in Milagro Cafe one of the best reasons to visit the Boro. Stonington's still.got its rustic charms, but in Milagro Cafe it's got spice too!

On our way to Newport from the Bridgeport Ferry we wanted to stop for breakfast / lunch…read more I suggested Mystic Diner. It was packed when we arrived with hardly any parking spaces. We managed to find a spot. Unfortunately when we came out someone had parked behind us in a non spot and blocked us in! That's not the diner's fault, of course, but watch out if you have to park in one of the corner spaces, which are clearly marked. People may pull in behind you. Surprisingly we were seated immediately. I suspect some of the parking was for the art fair across the street! Mystic Diner what you'd picture of a typical diner - but extremely spacious inside and tons of outdoor seating on this beautiful Labor Day weekend. My friend and I split the lamb gyro and salad while our other friend had this amazing stuffed French toast with bananas. The portions were huge and everything was reasonably priced. The service wasn't awful but it wasn't really above and beyond. They were very busy so I understand but our waiter never came to check on us after our food was served. Not a deal breaker. The food was excellent and the menu was very broad, with a lot of Greek options. It was hard to choose what to get. I was happy with the gyro and it was more than enough to share! Overall, I might go back but with so many great options in Mystic, I may want to try someplace else next time. This was pretty comparable to any Long Island diner. If you're visiting a state without a true diner experience and you're in Mystic, this is worth a stop! I'm sort of surprised it only has 3 stars. I'm giving it a solid 4. Easily in the top 5 of best diners in the northeast that I've tried! (Oconee on Long Island would be closer to the top!)

Their fresh chips were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Mexican pizza with chorizo and jalapeños - it was good but I couldn't get my brother to try it. His wife didn't care much for it. This was a better choice than the carne asada tacos I ordered for the meal and was substantially more food. Carne asada tacos - I really wished these were better, but the asada was lacking much needed flavor. On top of it being disappointingly bland, it was also extremely dry with the 2 tortillas per taco. My brother had some delicious sauce with his burrito that spruced up the dryness and flavor. I would not recommend this. The margaritas - my bro had the mango margarita - it was very sweet. His wife and I both had a taramind marg and it was pretty good. She also tried the cinnamon marg but it was way too sweet - as I anticipated - and we left it mostly untouched. The cool thing about their margs is that they serve it in individualized shakers to fill up the glass when it gets low.

Perfect spot to bring your family if you want more than just a sit down place to eat. I'd come mainly for the vibes LOL We ordered a lot for our party of 6 (+1 toddler), so dishes were bound to be a hit or miss. Our server was very patient with us as we decided on our order. Big fan of the seafood dishes here, so I'd recommend the FISH & CHIPS, ROASTED COD and CALAMARI. Could've done without the DOGWATCH PASTA and BURNT ENDS, which I found a bit bland and dry respectively. The MAC ATTACK, on the other hand, was a terrific pasta option and I personally was a big fan of it. If you're looking for more protein dense options, I'd recommend the RIBS and LOADED NACHOS. This was probs the most loaded I've ever seen an order of nachos at any restaurant. They also have a pretty extensive kids menu, making this spot very ideal for kids and families. We ended up bringing the leftovers back, because portion sizes were huge.

I ordered it with a gluten-free bun and the bun came out pretty much burnt. The burger was also supposed to come with cheese, but there was barely any cheese on it at all. The "pickled" onions were probably the strangest part. They honestly just tasted like slimy raw onions and added nothing to the burger. They also don't have a separate fryer, so being gluten-free meant I couldn't even have fries with my burger, which was disappointing. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the burger was a huge miss for me, especially with such limited gluten-free options to go along with it.

The portions are great and everyone who works there is warm and welcoming. I have been searching for years for good wings in this area. Astin J's wings are light years ahead of anyone else. They are absolutely monster sized wings unlike some of the places that serve teeny tiny wings. They offer tons of different flavors and I believe the sauces are made in house. I typically order either the garlic buffalo sauce or the garlic parm and both are equally awesome. The garlic parm fries are wonderful as well and they are loaded with garlic. The birria tacos are delicious as well. I just absolutely love this spot and will continue to support this wonderful local business indefinitely.
