I absolutely love this place. We've been fans since the food truck days (especially during the pandemic) when they would set up at Cartway, and the food has always been out of this world. The stir fry options are so tasty... the tacos are so good... the lumpia is probably my favorite food in this whole area... and the owners/staff are always so nice and welcoming. Some seating options inside and out. The food came out pretty quickly ~10 minutes during peak lunch time. I ordered the grilled chicken taco and carne asada fries with some churro bites. Loved them all! Taco was delicious and fries were also so good. They were both so filling. I had leftovers for another meal. The churro bites are a great deal for $3 and come with so many. I loved the Loko fish taco, mexi sexy taco, and the carnitas taco... all delicious! I got free chips and salsa for getting 3 tacos but honestly after eating the tacos, I didn't want the chips anymore lol! The lumpia is 1.25 per piece and so delicious and perfectly rolled! I have been in love with their food since they had their food truck. I have to say it was love at first site. Having their food made me smile from ear to ear. And if you know me well you know I even do a little dance . Food is life for me and Yoko Loko know how to put love in everything they do. Their location is easy to find and there's plenty of parking. You can eat in and out. The place is not big but it looks great inside and comfortable enough. I cant even imagine service ever being bad here because they always have a big smile and ready to help in anyway. This is family own and you feel it immediately. If you don't know what to try I will say make sure you try at least a Carnitas taco, MexiSexy and lumpia. This is the least you should try. I actually tried Yoko loko at my friends wedding which was held in the Ledyard area. I must say my friends are pretty ingenious for bringing this amazing eatery to their wedding ( just imagine...a food truck at a millenial wedding ) Everyone who has eaten here has said tremendous things about the food here. It's a spin between Asian and mexican food. The family who owns this food truck is Filipino! Out of all the places I've ever eaten at I have never had Filipino food and this was a first for me and it was AMAZING! I ordered a vegetarian option which was a stir fried veggies with their hibachi sauce over rice, two veggie tacos ( which was a combination of chick peas and red beans) and a vegetarian lumpia. The tacos were spot on! I'm not vegetarian and I didn't miss meat at all. Living in Dallas, I've had my fair share of tacos and the corn tortilla they use here is definitely traditional and delicious! For me, apart from the food, the family is so kind, the chef is brilliant and it's a family business. They treat thier customers as part of the family which is the best part of this eatery. Oh where do I even start when discussing the Yoko Loko food truck. Let me first describe the logistics, you can most often find them in Gales Ferry off Rt 12 at the old cartway racetrack. They are open primarily on Saturdays during lunch and dinner service but as the season continues I anticipate them being open on additional weekend days. My go to item when I order is the Sake steak. It costs 11 dollars and includes rice, steak, coleslaw, and lumpia. The lumpia are absolutely delicious, they are a crispy meat filled spring roll that are perfect in every way. The steak is sweat, salty and savory and it pairs well with the coleslaw for a perfect bite of food. They also sell tacos and a few other dishes but the Sake steak is simply my favorite item. The truck itself is family owned and everyone that works there is welcoming, nice, friendly, and they truly are proud of the product that they are serving. Eating at a truck like this supports a local family who are making their families recipes for the masses and the masses are lining up because the food is absolute perfection. This place is phenomenal. I wish this was here back growing up as a kid. I'm in town visiting family and my brother took me by here, at corner of RT 12 and Christy Hill at the old go kart place. I ordered 2 Loko fish 2 carnitas con chorizo 2 mexi sexys My bro got the Yoko Loko combo. All of it was delightful. I'm going to come back to get the stir fry. The workers were pleasant and friendly. Can't believe it took us so long to try this place. We got one of each taco and the carne asada fries. Everything was incredible. The lengua (beef tongue) tacos were both of our favorites. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu. If you haven't gone, what are you taking for? They have a habanero oil available that is super tasty and they really load up the tacos. Hands down the BEST tacos around. Went here on Thursday for a quick dinner and fell in love with their carnitas, fish, and the taco and beans. All three are SO flavorful. Forced a detour today with my husband to grab another meal and tried the seximexy. The breading on the sexi and fish is this light and super crispy breading that's absolutely killer. But a close competitor is the cactus and beans which has a punch of flavor and a some grilled smokiness. I'm also amazed at how much food you get for the price. Since we live in the Gales Ferry village we wanted to support local businesses and this restaurant has Street Style Tacos and Filipino Hibachi. Limited menu up on the board, you queue up, place your order and they call out your name when ready. We ate outside on a covered picnic table as the sun was beginning to set, situated right next to their food truck that started this whole enterprise. Inside looks nice, clean, modern with about 8 booth tables. The tacos were, as expected for street tacos, small but flavorful with the salsas and they come with grilled jalapenos and onions with several different meat selections. The fish tacos were not even warm and unfortunately breaded and fried instead of simply being grilled and had an odd fishy taste that did not appeal to me at all. My sweetie had the trio Hibachi plate with beef, chicken and two shrimp in a bland uninspired sauce and served with 2 small COLD lumpias plus lots of white rice on the side. This menu kinda reminded me of the Hawaiian Plate lunches but in Hawaii they always serve mayonnaise macaroni salad and the glazed sauce on the grilled meats are gooey, sticky and sweet tasting, a much more appetizing combination. Along with two cans of $2.50 soda, brought this meal to total of $30 bucks.....a rather pricey meal for two for just OK food that was fishy, cold and for the most part, uninspired. read more

The should be back at the Kartway in Gales Ferry soon but I found them at Navy Federal in Groton. They told me that they are also at the Ledyard Farmer's Market.
