The next day, I order two chicken tacos since I liked it so much the first time. The second time around, my tacos were ok. The chicken didn't taste the same as the first time. It was a little bland, not much flavor. I was a little disappointed. The fries I order the second day, was a little dark, over seasoned, and a little over cooked as well. Too salty. It's topped with Sriracha Mayo, green onion, served with a side of sweet chili sauce. Solid use of Asian flavors. Miso garlic chicken: D+ This dish disappointed me. The flavor of the chicken was fine but there was so much sauce it ended up being a soggy mess. The photo and description gave me the impression it was going to be crispy. The coconut rice had a strong coconut flavor but was very mushy. Brussel sprouts were fine but on the bland side. Kimchi was decent. Hope to give this spot another try but will probably stick to the sliders and fries next time.

I really wanted this to hit, but this paella is all surface and no soul…read more The rice tastes like it was cooked in a basic seafood broth and that's pretty much where the flavor journey ends. No depth, no layers, no real saffron punch. Just yellow rice doing the bare minimum. The bigger issue is how it's assembled. You can tell nothing is cooked together. The rice goes in first, then they literally count out the seafood and place it on top so it looks loaded. Shrimp, mussels, clams all just sitting there instead of being worked through the dish. Because of that, the seafood tastes like it was boiled separately in broth with no sear, no color, no character. Paella should be cohesive. This feels more like a rice bowl with seafood garnish. It looks good in photos, but once you dig in, it's very one note and very mid. For twenty bucks, I expected more technique and more flavor. This is basic street food execution dressed up to look generous. If you're craving real paella depth, this isn't it.

The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced--truly one of the best paellas I've had. Oscar, the owner, was there in person and couldn't have been friendlier. You can tell he takes real pride in his food and in connecting with customers. The freshness and quality really stand out, and it's such a treat to have this level of flavor at a local market. Highly recommend stopping by if you want fantastic food and genuinely warm service. A definite must‑try.

It is located off a newly renovated street where new high rise development were put in to increase dwelling density and foot traffic. It is not quite there yet, but I can see where this is going. It is held in this square near a business park so there is plenty of parking. There is a grassy square where families like to lounge with picnic blankets and lawn chairs. There's usually a dj dishing out tunes, a beer and wine tent, and about 8-10 food trucks lined up in an organized fashion. It goes every Friday in the warm months so from May to October. If a holiday pops up on a Friday like 4th of July they will skip it. Starts at 5pm and goes to about 9pm. Bulk of the crowd goes from 6:30 - 8. I go to about 2-4 per year since 2017, with the exception of 2020 cuz y'all know why. You can see the food truck line up each week on their website or socials. So I like to scan that and if it looks promising then I'll text some friends/family if anyone wants to meet up after work on Friday. If the weather is nice, it is just a just a festive and social way to start a summer's weekend. Now even tho I like these events I don't always like food truck food. Sure it is trendy and you do get to sample and /or get stuff brought to you in one area. But I often just find many of the food to be just average at best at prices that rival sit down dining. So to me I like scoping these out occasionally but I don't think they are worth going to on a frequent basis. I also feel that there aren't enough places to sit and eat once you get your food from a truck. There is a small area where they put out portable picnic benches, but those fill up with just 20 people or so. Otherwise you have to sit on the lawn and come prepared with blanket or lawn chair, or find a concrete planter box to sit on, or go back to your car to eat. Another reason why food trucks events often leave me hanging. But bring a warm typical Bay Area summer's evening where it doesn't get dark til almost 9pm and you want to be amongst your community and commerce, this event will do you more than fine.

There was even some line dancing going on in the makeshift stage area at some point. Sound was not the greatest, the volume quite low even for a small event, but it was fine. There were about 8 food trucks to choose from, along with a few random vendor/service tents (like Bass Pro Shops). Decided on sliders and garlic fries from the Curveball food truck. The food was okay, good enough to satisfy my hunger (see my separate review on that). I snagged one of the few spots in the grass with shade on this hot evening, though they also have tables and seating here, partially shaded too. An actual restroom (not porta potties) on site, in the Fremont downtown event center building. Also, plenty of space available in the parking lot. This is a pretty low-key community event, free to attend and grab a bite to eat, and just hang out for an hour or two.
