This was the second Mexican restaurant in this area I tried and after the first recommendation I did not have high hopes. But this place was recommended by the customer so I'll make the sacrifice.... Or not. My entire group was thoroughly pleased. All the SoCal people enjoyed this meal. Not only was everything fresh and plentiful but the dishes were all real Mexican flavors. One of the party members got the BOGO margarita. He couldn't finish the second one because it was strong. I think stronger than the first glass. They definitely do not skimp on the alcohol here. We did not know that you had to go order at the bar until somebody told us so we did just that. My husband was attempting to purchase a meat meal with fries as his side, but someone from behind the bar immediately swooped in and told him he wasn't allowed to get fries. My husband isn't a "fancy side" guy and he only wanted fries so he pushed the issue a bit but the woman told him no, he's unable to do that and he has to stick to the sides that are listed. He Finally decided to go with purchasing the size separately and doing the meats separately. I've worked in Customer Service for many years, and that was a fairly abrupt encounter which set the tone off for our meal. I had looked at the menu online, and it was an old post from February, and it being August the prices were pretty expensive. Nevertheless, since we drove out there and wanted to try it, we stayed. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. The chicken was tasty and I really liked the bun, but it was a small dollop of honey mustard. Additionally, I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese, and I'm no connoisseur, but I do enjoy trying macaroni and cheese dishes at different locations and usually enjoy all I've ordered Perhaps it was an off batch, but it was not flavorful whatsoever. I even had my husband try it, and he was unimpressed. Very bland, could not taste any cheese, and it was mostly starchy/noodle tasting. He ordered the pulled chicken and the brisket and a side salad. Even with the sauce, the brisket really wasn't that flavorful. The ranch for the fries was more on the tangy side (not buttermilky) and. It of my preference, so I went with ketchup. Overall, we spent $78 for the two of us. (Didn't order an fancy beverages - just water and an iced tea).
