Tried Rancho Viejo on a visit to Pullman. Their food is well executed and portions are good. The plate sizes are enough to feed one and a half small people. We ordered a couple of different dishes to share, and all were very tasty, but the sides were the same across all the dishes, so I would have liked to see some variety and different techniques to showcase mexican cuisine. Overall though, I would come back to Rancho Viejo if i were in the area. Service was excellent! read more

If I could give -10 stars I would. Blocked a pregnant woman from exit because she used their bathroom and "didn't buy anything" even though I've been a regular customer here since I was a child! My parents have gone here since forever. I'm now 30. When I came out of the bathroom and older woman aggressively asked me how many seats and when said oh I'm sorry none today I just really needed the bathroom she told "can you not read?" There's no bathroom signs everywhere. I said the waiter yesterday said I could use it and when I came in no one was here to ask so I just assumed, I'm sorry. And she kept calling me stupid for not seeing the "no public bathroom signs." I'm pregnant and I try to ask nicely. I work in the area and had to access to a bathroom and the nearest one was the police station. I would have peed my pants walking there. Anyways she starts going over to the door and I was already walking to get out and she blocked the door!!! I immediately just walked out anyways and her body hit mine because she was blocking the door. She then started yelling "fuck you at me" and said I was trespassing. I told her to call the police then. My partner called back the restaurant after I told her this and the lady flat out lied to her about the situation and said she did nothing to disrespect me. My partner asked to speak the the owner and the owner also completely disregarded the situation and said "we'll you didn't buy anything" we tried telling him how we've been dining her since forever but he didn't care. He also told me to fuck off and call the police. So I did exactly that. Seriously -10. I can't even believe that someone would try to block someone in for using the bathroom and when they call back and explain that their worker also did it to a PREGNANT woman there is no regard at all. read more

So, first of all, I read the negative reviews and could not fathom why someone was writing bad reviews about this place. However, I then saw that those people made it a point to point out that the serving staff was Hispanic (not necessary. racist a bit?) and also decided to point out and brag about their male mysogynistic behavior. So, that should tell you a little bit of that person's character and how their review can be trusted. We are from Seattle and were visiting. This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant with some great mexican food. I really enjoyed the staff as well as the food. We went on a weekday night so it wasn't crowded at all. The staff was super nice and friendly. The food was great as well. I had the macho Colorado burrito and it was so good! It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and was the best burrito I had tasted in a while. I also had the fried ice cream and that was super good as well! You would never know it was fried and the shell that it came in had a great crisp, cinnamon flavor. The prices were very reasonable and the portions are definitely a great size for the price. My partner had a burrito and she liked it as well. I would ignore the bad reviews and know that this is a great restaurant to eat at and if your too drunk to be served, they will not serve you (as they shouldnt). Wait staff was attentive. The only complaint is that it was very warm in there and it appeared their AC wasn't working on a 93° day! Our favorite Pullman stop! We eat here every time we visit our daughter at WSU. Last night we celebrated her 21st birthday there, and our server David made the event special, fun and festive. He mixed us delicious margaritas (the Classic was delicious! Simple and uncluttered, just perfect. He offered a free birthday tequila shot, and all the servers sang Happy Birthday. This is arguably the worst restaurant I have ever been to. We had just come into town and at 8pm, this was one of only a few that were still open. My wife, daughter and I were seated right away. There were only a few people eating at this restaurant at this time. Once seated, nothing was said and they walked away. Despite multiple people working at the restaurant, no one came to the table for 15 minutes. They handed us a bowl of chips and salsa. We asked for a side of beans and they left. After another 15 minutes of no one coming to the table, someone came by to take our order. They acted as if they didn't want to be there. I explained that we ordered some beans for the chips and he said he would get it. We ordered drinks and food. He left without saying anything. Another 15 minutes go by and no drinks or beans have been delivered. I asked the bus girl for beans and she was very nice and went and got some. Our food came out next. It was actually pretty quick compared to everything else that had occurred. Still no margaritas for my wife and I or soda for my daughter. I asked again and they brought out drinks. Came here about a month ago. Really friendly and kind staff. Quick service, extremely delicious Mexican food. Their menu is huge, for better or worse depending on the customer, but I think it's great. There's even an "American menu" which has typical burgers etc, but I'd recommend their traditional offerings. I had fish tacos and they were superb. Their margaritas are great too! I tried the Rancho Viejo enchilada and it was really good. The other places in Moscow and Pullman I tried, weren't very good with their enchiladas. But this place puts more than just meet in their enchiladas and it tastes good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't put the sour cream on the burrito, as well as the dish not coming with a side of rice and beans, which I had to pay an additional price for. I don't want to butcher this place with a bad review because I feel like I would need to try more off the menu first and its hard when I really enjoy the Rancho Chico locations. Unfortunately we were just traveling through Pullman so we likely will bot be returning. First when you walk in it smells strongly of bleach which would lead you to think it's clean but there was no paper towel in the bathroom or a changing table. That was annoying but would not effect my review generally. However we didn't enjoy the food. The rice tasted reheated and our meals were not appeasing. I got a "healthy" chipotle chicken burrito which was really just an unhealthy burrito with veggies thrown. Flavor quality was poor. My son got a chicken quesadilla which came without chicken and my other son wanted mojo de ajo and got something completely different. We didn't complain we just wanted to eat and get back on the road. I should also make a note if you're traveling that the parking is horrible. There are limited options. However the chip, salsa and beans were good and If I lived in Pullman I would give this resturant another chance especially more around dinner time to see if the quality was better. read more

The Mexican food is okay at Rancho Viejo but not stellar. The steak inside the fajita burrito was poor quality and the burrito had too many wet toppings . The chicken inside the enchiladas was dry and stringy. The tamale was dried out. The rice and beans were standard Mexican restaurant fare -- nothing special. The chips were served warm, but without salt, and the salsa was too watery and spicy. The service was good. Our waiter was on top of things and served us quickly. We may stop in again and order different items just in case we were there on an "off" day. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. We made reservations for 14 and when we arrived the table was reserved for 7. We should have taken that as a sign and left. The messed up almost every plate. No water refills, drinks took an hour to arrive at the table. Some of us were still getting plates delivered two hours in while others never got their plate at all. The staff had complete attitudes about the situation and just continued to mess up. They literally brought one of the 18 years olds in our group and alcoholic beverage.
