For all my people who like to plan ahead, you'll be pleased to know I was able to put my order in the day before. My order was prepared on time, packaged well, and the portions were just right. You have to go inside for pickup, so I had my coworker go in for me as it was raining. They said the restaurant was spacious and clean. Utensils and napkins are readily available and sauces are provided. On to what I ate! We split the steak quesadilla lunch with rice&beans as well as 3 street tacos (shredded beef, marinated pork, and shrimp / barbacos de res, al-pastor, y camarón). The meat was super delicious... flavorful without being too overpowering. The marinated pork was spicy even for me, but it wasn't anything unbearable. Tacos came with some chips, cooked onions, and a sarrano pepper. The cheesey quesadilla had that awesome cheese pull I love, along with some veggies and guacamole on the side. Everything just complimented each other so well and it was more than enough to keep us satiated. I would definitely come back for more even though it is a little out of my way. It's worth it!

Classic nickel and dimeing the customers.

The quesabirria, which I have never had was so exceptional I have not stopped thinking about it, the meat was extremely tender, plenty of cilantro and onion, and the dip sauce was OOTW! The only downside, but I didn't expect it to be that good was the margarita. It's just not made with real tequila. It's the Wine based but it wasn't bad. It just was super sweet.:) Service was a little bit slow, but they were very busy so I did not mind one bit. He was very conscientious of the fact that they were a little overwhelmed and honestly you can't blame the staff ... I will definitely be going back, and you should be going there soon!!!

All that time I searched…read morein Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, cities with tons of great restaurants a never found one. Who knew, I'd finally find it in of all places, Stuart Florida!! For those of you who are not aware, just like Chinese restaurants in the States are actually not what the Chinese actually eat, most "Mexican" restaurants in the States are really not "Mexican" in the truest sense but "Tex-Mex". Tex-Mex is the States version of Mexican food. Having said that, Rancho Chico is the real deal. Their chips hold up well to not only their excellent salsa but also their authentic chile con queso. Start off with their jalapeño poppers, not too hot with extra crunchy breading coating fresh jalapeño's with creamy cheese interiors. Move on to their assortment of enchiladas which are as authentic as they get. I heartily recommend their Polo A La Crème, the best I've ever had, even from the many Tex-Mex restaurants in Texas I have visited where Tex-Mex originated and is an art! Their accompanying refried beans and rice are cooked to perfection. Or if you prefer, enjoy their quesadillas amply stuffed with cheddar and jack cheese. Although we had no room to sample them, their Super Nachos looked killer. Make sure you try the giant margaritas and finally complete your feast with their fried ice cream. To top it all off you'll enjoy all this with great service from "real" Mexican servers and leave with change in your pocket! If you're looking for an authentic Tex-Mex night out, Rancho Chico is most definitely the place for you!

You know the place--you're served plates of fajitas by a waitstaff comprised of pretty local girls and the margarita blenders are whirring. But if you've tried real Mexican food, there's a whole world out there in Stuart on HWY1A, more toward Port Salerno. Here you'll find La Placita, Taqueria El Ranchito, Taqueria Taqueria El Mariachi and Taqueria Tamaulapis. At Taqueria Tamaulapis the food is cheap, fast, authentic and flavorful, often with Central and South American influences. Here you'll find amazing carnitas, seafood soups, whole fried fish and tacos al pastor. The chips are made in house--thick and crisp--and the salsa verde sang with fresh tomatillos. On the weekends, they specialize in barbacoa and carnitas de puerco. Our family of five completely snarfed, including 3 large horchatas, for 29 bucks. Yes, you can get fajitas here, but no margaritas. The clientele are small families and groups of friends. When we ate here, the workmen at the next table were sweet to our kids, and it's hard not to think that some of them left their families behind to support them from afar. I live in California, so I frequent a lot of great taquerias. This one is average to above average, though considering the alternatives in Stuart, I consider it a rare gem. So give it a try--you'll catch up on your telenovelas, chill to some ranchero music and eat mexican food that comes from a rich culture, rather than a corporate headquarters.

I had been to a Peruvian restaurant in West Palm Beach a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it, so I've been on the hunt for something local that could compare. This place did not disappoint. Don't feel intimidated by the menu--just go for it. Everything we tried was incredible. We started with the ceviche platter, which included three different varieties. Honestly, it was more like an entrée for four than an appetizer, but it was so good we couldn't stop eating it. For our main courses, my husband ordered the beef stew and I had the shredded chicken. The flavors and textures were unbelievable--everything tasted like it had been slow-cooked for hours. Rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned. We both had Pinot Grigio, although next time we'll probably just go for a bottle. Our bill came to around $130, which felt completely reasonable for the quality of the food and overall experience. Take a chance on this place--you won't be disappointed.
