I feel like I was robbed!! I had the 2 ground beef enchilada plate with onions, beans & rice. I also ordered a glass of tea. My friend ordered the 4 ground beef enchiladas plate with onions, refried beans & rice & a glass of tea. The total bill was $49.00 + some change!! For 4 ground beef enchiladas, beans, rice & tea for two. I am honestly struggling where the total amount of our ticket came from. The food itself was mediocre at best. The queso was not very tasty & the beans & rice were eatable at best. It was definitely not the best Mexican food I've eaten. I definitely would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is a total ripoff. This used to be a great place to eat at a reasonable price. I will now never set foot in that restaurant again. It's been a long time since I've felt so taken advantage of and to think it was a local restaurant that did it. They could improve by explaining the menu, work on making better product, especially if you're going to take advantage of people financially. That was a low blow. read more

This is a small, no frills restaurant but we love it!! There's about 10 tables (one for 6-8 people). They serve great Tex-mex food and there's ALWAYS someone coming in to pick up to-go orders. The salsa is yummy and they make great tea, too! You can see into the kitchen where they're working hard to make your meal and the front counter is stacked with Mexican candy and cookies. First time at this family owned business. The service is fast and prompt. When entering the restaurant, you self seat yourselves. Inside have a few tables/chairs and booths. They give you complimentary chips and salsa along with refill of it. The salsa is not spicy but it does slowly creep up on you after a few bites if you are not use to spicy. The chips are fresh and homemade! It's super crispy and pretty delicious! We ordered, the carne gusada taco, beef fajitas taco, 3 beef enchiladas which comes with beans and rice, sopa, and barbacoa taco. The carne gusada taco was bomb and great! The meat was tender and just the perfect amount of sauciness to it. Perfectly seasoned and not salty. The beef fajitas taco comes with beans in it and it was a bit heavy on the salt. The sopa my friend had ordered, she liked along with the barbacoa. The enchiladas I had asked for beef fajitas enchiladas but the waitress had taken the order wrong because she was impatient. Horrible service, food and atmosphere. On trip back from camping, stopped here to check out a family owned business with good reviews- mistake. Not one smile at all with any staff- they all looked mad, I should have taken that as a que to leave asap. Run down building, seems way short staffed, and definitely not cooking with love here. My kids were happy with the nasty queso from a can and warmed in microwave (but I wasn't). Had cheese enchiladas, two fajita tacos, some meat plate my husband got and flautas- plus 3 teas for 67$! Best place in town! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive, and you get your food pretty fast! We walked in with 8 people to seat. Our food came pretty fast for that many people. The chips and salsa are good, and so is the tea and lemonade. The beef, cheese, and chicken enchiladas are delicious! The rice and beans are authentic, no canned beans here. I also love the chalupas, hard shell tacos, beef Fajitas, carne quisada and all the breakfast tacos they offer. My kids love the bean and cheese tacos as well. The price is very affordable. My son and I stopped in on our way to Austin. I passed it up the first time but doubled back and stopped in. I had the beef fajita plate and he had the carne guisada. Buried down a side road just of of 290, we found something interesting to say the least...I will start by saying we are true fan of the cliche of the Dive, Whole in the Wall, Dark and Dungy joints that are out there...But, when it comes to grunge, well it has it...Place seriously needs to be cleaned..top to bottom...The vents alone in the main dining room?...you could almost see the spores falling from the ceiling...walls along the floor...I will just stop there....SADLY!!!...The dang food was decent to say the least...We get our grub on with some Chips, Salsa and Queso...Salsa had a good flavor, chips fresh, queso alright...Wife went with the Beef Chiladas double rice...beef alone, was a bit bland, but was good with the gravy...rice decent....My chicken Chiladas were the Bomb....very good chicken, seasoned, and a killer green sauce...Beans were spot on...And the portions were big...But, being in the retail food industry, and just finishing my National Food Safety and Sanitation Test...We cant do it again...Not a chance...I have to draw the line somewhere...Clean the place up, easy 3-4 stars... read more

She has only been back a week but she was doing a great job with how busy it got. I ordered one pancake. It was too large for me to eat it all. It was pretty good, not the best, but good. The coffee was great! Roomie had the chicken tortilla soup. Except for one problem he said it was one of the best he had. The problem was they put the tortilla chips in it already instead of serving on the side. This makes them very soggy. The taste and the chicken were amazing though, so he could overlook that. We stopped here between our Austin to Houston trek. It was a great dinner. Has a cute down-home feel, amazing prices, and large portions. Word to the wise, it is a converted fast food joint with the furniture to match but the delicious food and kind service make up for that. We decided to finally try this place and now we wish we had a long time ago. The staff was friendly and attentive and even though they were quite busy we were served our food quickly. My husband had the huevos rancheros and they were amazing. He especially loved the fresh salsa. I had the chilaquiles, they were very spicy, but worth every bite. Heading back to Houston we Stumble into this place thanks to Yelp app. I must say from the looks of it, it is not the finest place but the food was really good. The most expensive item in the menu was the fajita platter($15.00) which includes chicken, beef and shrimp. Along with tortillas,rice, lettuce & tomatoes and guacamole. I truly love the freshness and the fresh avocado. Don't forget the salsa and chips. My boyfriend love it. The staff was very attentive and courteous.
