The new owners are not newcomers to the restaurant business. When the original Taqueria Alameda had a fire, they took a few years off before buying this place and starting over, but with the same staff and menu. Service could not have been better on our visit tonight, with our waitress being so cheerful, friendly, and helpful that we'd come back again just to be waited on by her regardless of the food. Thankfully the food was wonderful. I highly recommend their al pastor which you can get the regular way or with extra grilled pineapple. I opted for one of each to compare, and they're both fantastic, with the latter being my top pick because I love the flavor of grilled pineapple. My husband got chicken enchiladas with green sauce. The cheese on top is delicious and the sauce brought most of the flavor to the chicken, which was cooked well and moist but a little plain tasting. He said he'd ask for chicken tinga or beef next time. Their salsas are tasty, with the smokiness of the spicy chipotle salsa and excellent flavor and kick to the green jalapeno salsa being great choices for those who like spicy food, and their regular salsa a delicious choice for the less adventurous. Turning into the driveway is tricky if you're heading west on Ford, so if traffic is heavy, to avoid a potential accident turning there you may want to go past and turn around. I hope you enjoy it here as much as we did. We look forward to our next visit!

I was so happy to see this place had finally reopened and I found it by accident. Apparently the old place (different location) had a fire and they had been closed for a long time. One day I drove by on my way to work and couldn't believe this was the same place. I read some reviews to make sure it was the same place and then ordered some carry out to make sure the food was still the best Mexican around. The guacamole is always fresh and seasoned perfect. I also ordered a Gordita which was my all time favorite, a beef taco and a steak quesadillas for my husband. Everything was so good we ordered again the following weekend the same order except we tried the fried quesadillas instead of flour tortillas and liked that just as much of not better. It's a cute little place with good service we just usually like to do carry out but either way you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

Went there for taco Tuesday. The place is under new management and they are working on a taco Tuesday special and more catering. The lady behind the counter was super happy and nice and she was busy. Rice and beans were just ok. The tacos are deep fried, like empanadas. Lots of meat!

Note now corner of Ford n Wayne road, finally reopened after a fire 4 years ago. So Happy for them after 15 years at old location, has hundreds of followers. This was the old Taco Macho, just wasn't that good. Bright beautiful dining room, fast friendly service with a smile. I found that owners from Mexico City has Pambozo that was the clue. She's had a mega Chicken Botona spot on wonderful . I seen a photo from a couple days ago on the Facebook page, that's what got me in the door. Absolutely blown away by the very best ever Eaten Asada Chilaquiles Rojos is a traditional Mexican breakfast recipe featuring crispy fried tortillas that are tossed in a homemade spicy red chile sauce. A explosion of flavor in each bite OMG where have you been all my life. Topped with 2 Eggs I drizzled with Salsa Verde and Smoked Red Salsa for the win . Could only eat half leftovers were great too. Loaded with massive amount of tender Steak fresh off the flattop. It's a long drive from me but well worth another visit really soon. Next up Pambozo, Sope and Hurrache I seen on menu. Ill be honest we came for the barbacoa! Better then the drive downtown. Super clean. Very friendly. We will definitely be back again. This is not a sit down place it is togo only as of right now. They also have a small market inside with candy, beans, cheeses, sodas, and tortillas.

This is the definition of a hole in the wall, that you MUST try. They are only open for takeout and you should definitely call and order ahead of time- otherwise expect a 20-25 minute wait time. Many of their menu items are fairly priced and they deliver on quality and taste. They also have a mini Mexican market to buy your own ingredients and have a friendly staff. They offer both Mexican and American style tacos. This nifty place is perfect for a snack or even a whole meal when craving authentic Mexican cuisine. What I ordered: 5 Mexican style tacos- 3 asada, 1 lamb, and 1 chicken (as pictured). The asada was my favorite, the lamb was good but contained a lot of fat, and chicken was ok. I asked for spicy salsa as well. Their nachos are loaded with meat but they seem to miss other popular items that typically are paired with nachos such as lettuce, jalapeños, and pico de Gallo. All in all, would come here again!! Even have a large parking lot for you to sit outside and enjoy the food with friends.

The Crispy tacos are melt in your mouth delicious. I absolutely love the food. I dine in and I order carry out often. Small restaurant, good service. Best authentic Mexican food in my area.

We've been coming here since 2018 on a chance, and it truly is our favorite Mexican restaurant…read more Food is always hot, and authentically flavorful. We usually go for a good fajita (of any of the flavors, all are delicious) or a monster burrito to share (jam-packed with rice, meat and veggies so enough to share)! Chori queso and fried ice cream usually round out our meal. The staff is amazing. Everyone is so kind and efficient, it really is a treat to go out and support this business. The place is usually pretty packed, but there is a bar for a solo date and huge tables for bigger gatherings as well (I had my 30th birthday here and it was a blast)!

food was good except for the rice it was dry and flavourless. I can't speak on the beans because I…read moredon't really like refried beans. I told the guy I didn't need the rice or beans but he brought it anyway for some reason. My dad wanted his rice and beans, so maybe he was confused. I don't know if our server was new or not. My dad had to ask twice for his Pepsi and I had to ask a second time for the salsa. I requested to go with my tacos. The wait time wasn't long since it was during the week and early enough in the night so that was nice. I'm used to waiting a very long time here. It's always very busy and crowded here. I also asked for a to go queso sauce I told him I didn't need the chips. He totally forgot about that as well and then brought the bill. I was very annoyed that I had to ask a second time and then he wanted to charge $11 for that he insisted that he takes back the bill and adjust it and I said oh you're going to charge me for that even though you already brought the bill and I've had to ask twice okay at this point I was so annoyed but I gave him back the bill anyways so he could adjust for it. I didn't know just the dip was $11. I would have re thought a carry out. I told him I didn't need the chips because we have chips at home. I don't know if they changed their rice recipe but the rice was extremely dry and flavourless. I took a few bites and it was hard to choke down overall I really like this place but I'm really second-guessing even coming back because the taco food truck that's down the street from my house is much better than this at this point and the prices are crazy. I didn't know how much the prices have changed. My dad got a burrito rice and beans. I got three tacos and we got a carryout queso and the bill was almost $60.?!?! this definitely was not exceptional service by any means I am keeping three stars because out of the other experiences I have had here this is just one not so good one usually we have come here and it's been great. My parents have come here a few times in 2025. I used to come here with them in 2024 and before I know they have been open for over 10 years more like 15 years but I don't know what has changed recently.

They are removed from the Don Juan's website - although they still have Don Juan menus and appear to serve all the same food as the rest of the Don Juan locations. My first visit was with a group of 12 for a work function. Tough to get there with some of the traffic/construction issues on Wayne, but that's not their fault. They seemed to have forgotten that I called to make a reservation for a large table - but they had enough space to push some tables together and accommodate us anyway. The menu is HUGE! Like 7 pages of items, so you can find exactly what you want. Good section of 8 or so vegetarian-specific items - which is much better than most Mexican restaurants where you're stuck with a bean burrito or veggie fajitas if you don't eat meat. Spicy and delicious salsa. Not watery and bland like so many of the competitors in SE Michigan. The guacamole was excellent - great presentation. I had the molcajete maya (ribeye steak, shrimp, chorizo, chicken, cactus, green chile sauce). I don't see nopale (cactus) on menus that often - It was fantastic! Loved the mix of meats, strong flavors, and it came out in a stone bowl. The rice was tender but a bti bland, so I dumped some of their salsa on it. Great refried beans. I ordered an horchata to drink, and it was also excellent. One of my favorite, and most authentic, Mexican meals I've had in Michigan. I only finished half of it, so it was enough for an entire additional meal. My coworkers all seemed pleased with their food. This place is for those who are patient. The food took a long time to come out - it was a solid 20 minutes from when we arrived until we placed our order, and another 30 minutes from when we placed our order until we received our food. It was a good thing the guacamole came out quickly and they were generous with chips and salsa refills. Server was polite and helpful and nice, though, so no complaints there. I'll definitely be back, and will try to work through some more of this formidable menu as they continue to evolve away from their "regional chain" roots.
