Since choosing to use Bud's, exclusively, for all three of the trade services they provide, we have experienced a whole new level of professionalism, expertise and integrity. Recently, our HVAC system stopped working after losing power during the night due to a thunderstorm and nearby lightning strike. I called Bud's first-thing the following morning... the power had already been restored. Realizing it was the middle of summer/ the cooling season, and, it had been a large storm the night before covering the entire York County area, I assumed it might be a day or more before there would be an available appt. However, in true Bud's fashion, they scheduled me for same-day service and were out in less than 2 hours. The technician, Steve Colwell, was top-notch. He was not only knowledgeable and professional, but, he took a very methodical approach to fixing our problem. Though he could have replaced 4 or 5 parts at once, claiming "the lightning strike fried everything" and it would have cost much more money for me. Instead, Steve diagnosed things logically and replaced one part at a time in a step-by-step, systematic format. As a result, the problem was fixed with only 3 parts instead of more. I felt very confident in Steve's skills and expertise and very comfortable with him in our home. I would recommend Steve Colwell and Bud's Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electric to everyone in need of high-quality, trust-worthy professionals. We will not use any else. Thanks Bud's for all you do... Randy Harsey.

And after bad experiences with the "big box" stores on major appliance and home related purchases, I wasn't giving them any more money. After my initial inquiry, Nick came by the next day, took the measurements and with 24 hours I had an estimate. After I finalized my material color selection I had the work scheduled. The day of the work the crew arrived one half hour EARLY (when does ANY contractor show up early?). The three man crew led by Steve with Ronnie and Keith worked with great diligence, and were done by 4pm. The overall finish of my new flooring is excellent, the amount of custom cutting for molding and transitions due to the layout of my home was first class, the place was cleaned up with no debris, the whole thing was just great. In all my years as a home owner, I've never seen anything like. I have additional flooring work to complete, and no doubt I'm having Dominion come back to do it. Highly recommend.

We had a leak coming from the bottom of our air handler, so I called A/C Masters -- a company we…read morehad used before and trusted -- to come out to our home in Newport News on June 13. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. While the technician who came was knowledgeable and professional, the issue lies in how the company conducts business, which ultimately left me $174 out of pocket for a service that didn't resolve the problem. After diagnosing the issue, the technician said the P-trap was clogged and vacuumed the drain line. She said water appeared to be draining properly and noted that some light dripping might continue due to wet insulation -- but we were relieved that the problem seemed resolved. Just a few hours later, the leak returned -- same spot, same amount. When I called the company the next day, I was told the line might still be clogged and that they could come back out, but I'd be charged another $85 labor fee -- even though the first visit didn't resolve the issue. I also learned their advertised "30-day guarantee" only waives the $89 diagnostic fee, not the labor, even for the exact same unresolved problem. After doing my own research, I realized that since they already knew the drain line was underground and made of metal, a quick vacuum was unlikely to solve the problem long-term especially because we don't have a condensation pump. It made me question and feel like they were just trying to get me to spend more money piece by piece. I tried speaking with the manager, Robert, before leaving a review to resolve the issue but was told it's simply "company policy" to charge a labor cost again. I won't be using A/C Masters in the future, and I would caution others to seek a company that stands behind their work and prioritizes fixing the problem the first time -- not charging again for unresolved issues.

In 2021 we were renting a home where the landlords used Top Stream for services. But, since then we have bought a home. We had Top Stream come out for 2 estimates. One being gutter cleaning, and power washing. The second is new windows for our house. In early March 2025 we had our gutters cleaned and the house power washed. They did an amazing job. They went above and beyond with their work. They pressure washed a section of our porch where there was a grease stain.not something that was on the list of things to do, so it was greatly appreciated. We really, really appreciated that. I could see a real positive difference in the exterior of our house. Pricing for the power washing and gutter cleaning was comparable to others. We also like to support local businesses. The gutter cleaning resulted in the large amount of rain we had to properly come out of the gutters. We really needed a gutter cleaning. They did an amazing job with that as well. Windows: The process of the window purchasing went pretty good. The estimate was below a lot of the big well known large companies. Again, we wanted to support local business. The measurement process was quick. It took about 3-4 weeks for the windows to come in and another week or two before the process was complete. The installation took 3 days. They did well. The three men here were great! We enjoyed their personalities, hard work, and attention to detail. We are extremely happy with the whole process. It was one of the best decisions we made for our house. Their communication was great during the whole process and their attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Top Stream has always been great with communication. Caleb and his staff have always been professional, polite and helpful. I highly recommend them. Our next project will be a new door, as they offer that service. My husband had said he will absolutely be using Top Stream for future projects. NOTE: They offer a military discount which is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
