A great environment, but very expensive prices, definitely not a place I'd regular but once in a month it's a fun place to chill at

The Long Version: I'm not much of a beer drinker, although my husband is. Luckily this microbrewery not only makes beer but they also make seltzer, and I love seltzer! Lol. Their seltzer flavours are limited, so I've tried most of them. I've tried the Berry Whip, Cool Melon and Orange Cream. They occasionally have limited edition flavours and I recently tried the Tiger Fruit one (kiwi and mixed berries). I find that most of their core seltzer flavours are pretty ordinary and not as creative as their beer flavours. Like they have an Earl Grey Marmalade beer and they had a chocolate chip pecan cookie-flavoured beer. I wish they had more creative seltzer flavours. I would totally drink an Earl Grey Marmalade seltzer! Lol. Ironically, my husband does not like what he calls "weird" beer flavours, so he wasn't crazy about the ones my brother gave him for his birthday, lol, but he likes the more "normal" flavours. Oh, I recently tried their newest flavour, Grape Jelly, and this is my favourite flavour so far. The brewery is in an industrial park. They have seating and have a limited food menu, mostly snacks. They have a corner where you can buy cans to-go. Their beers are also available to purchase at the LCBO and their seltzers are available at several retailers like some coffee shops (such as Equator Coffee) and some grocery stores (such as Natural Food Pantry). There is free parking on-site. Review #222 (2025)

Tip: City Seltzer is yummy and sugar-free…read more My review is about the seltzer part of Dominion City Brewing. Its City Seltzer line is awesome. I grew up drinking Original New York Seltzer. The seltzer came in short glass bottles with a colourful label, depending on the flavour that you got. I don't know what happened, but this company died and somehow resurrected itself. I don't see this brand often in my area. In July 2024, I was in Winnipeg at a Giant Tiger. It featured a limited tiger tail flavour in the company's City Seltzer line. Proceeds went to Food Banks Canada. It also had berry whip and city citrus varieties. I bought a can of each flavour. I loved them all. Tiger tail had orange, vanilla, and anise flavours. They worked well. It was my first time having anise in a seltzer. It's too bad that it's no longer available. I'd get it again. The berry whip and citrus seltzers were yummy. The fruit and citrus flavours were nice. They weren't in-your-face strong. They were refreshing and perfect. I was in Steinbach and Winnipeg this past summer. Sadly, no tiger tail or any City Seltzer were available at the Giant Tiger locations that I had visited in either city. A few months ago, I was shopping at my local Whole Foods Market. I stumbled across a City Seltzer display. What?! I saw two flavours that I had never seen before: orange cream and cool melon. I grabbed the former to try. I love anything that tastes like an orange creamsicle. This one was so good. I keep dreaming about it. Whole Foods sells City Seltzers in individual cans and a case. I like trying out the former first before I commit to the latter. At this rate, I'd get a case of each flavour available. I still need to try the cool melon. I'm hoping that it makes me feel like I'm at a spa when I drink it. My friend, Jennifer, let me know that this company is in Ottawa. Note to self: I must visit this store the next time I'm in the city. I'm a fan and I want a t-shirt. All the bubbles. No troubles. True. I love this seltzer! (422)

Sussex & Co. - A New Ottawa Gem Worth Every Bite and Sip…read more We had the pleasure of visiting Sussex & Co. last night to celebrate Mother's Day early with an evening date night -- and what an experience it was! From the get-go, communication with the restaurant was seamless. I reached out via social media requesting a booth, and not only did they respond within minutes, but they followed up with a phone call confirming the reservation. That level of service before we even arrived set the tone for the night. The anticipation was real -- their social media teasers had us excited -- and they delivered. The design of the space is simply stunning. Warm tones and classy touches give it a cozy yet elegant vibe. The main bar is a showstopper with its extensive liquor selection. I was on the hunt for a tequila I'd never tried, and the bartender delivered -- an excellent pick, delicious and reasonably priced. Now for the food: We started with oysters and the burrata. The oysters were fresh, flavourful, and the rosé vinaigrette was a standout touch. The burrata was rich and creamy, and we loved being able to choose the bread it came with -- a small detail that made a big difference. For mains, my wife had the steak frites -- a surprise hit. Incredible flavour and an unbeatable price. I had the ribeye (medium rare) with dauphinoise potatoes, and let me say this: I've eaten at every top steakhouse in Ottawa, and this was hands-down the best steak in the city. Perfectly cooked, beautifully marbled, and seasoned like a dream. The potatoes? The bomb. We kicked things off with a couple of cocktails -- an off-menu espresso martini and a whiskey-vermouth martini-style drink. Both on point. The wine list impressed us too. The GM personally offered pairing advice and introduced us to a bottle so good, we ordered a second. Too full for dessert -- a rarity -- we ended our night in their hidden speakeasy. This space is jaw-dropping. Intimate, stylish, and full of charm. We capped the night with an expertly crafted old fashioned, the perfect end to a perfect evening. Special shout-out to our server Brianna -- despite it being their second night open, she knew the menu inside and out and guided us like a seasoned pro. Sussex & Co. is a must-visit. If you appreciate top-tier service, an incredible culinary experience, and a beautifully designed space, go now... and then go again. We're already planning our next visit.

The oysters were fresh and clean, the bone marrows were phenomenal, and the steak was cooked to our liking. Service was GREAT, very energetic and quick. The ambiance was decent as well. They have a good small menu so it is suitable for lunch or dinner...or just a beer. I had the Black Hop Down beer and it was delicious. We split a chicken caprese and a pork belly sandwich. Both were enjoyable though they appeared to be pre-made and re-heated. The caprese was a bit soggy on one side. The menu indicated they both came with house-made chips, but we had to remind them - and only got one serving with the gal noting that only the caprese came with chips... not what the menu says. Ideally, for better presentation, chips on the side of the plate would be better. We also tried the sardines. This was interesting but nothing I'd order again. My overall three rating is based on this - however, I do want to note they've only been officially open for a few weeks from what I'm reading - so I'm putting this down to 'opening pains'. We'll do a revisit and update in a few months. Service was affable. Nice people. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? I think this will become a favorite local meeting spot for beer - probably a bit further than I'd drive on a regular basis.
