The Taro milk tea is absolutely delicious. I get it mixed with both big Boba and baby Boba. Great experience every time I go there and the service is quick with a friendly staff. The vibe is positive and upbeat and the store is really clean, definitely a place to meet up and chat and have fun. The only thing I wish they made some slight changes on is the meals, they do not match the ones at any of the other tapex's that I've been to. Over all an excellent spot to go for some good drinks. read more

I think the snow bubble options are great, and I personally like the strawberry banana and matcha.

Solid boba place. Regularly get the avocado or cantaloupe snow bubble and the taro milk tea. Glad there is one of these in Oside.

When I lived in San Diego, I used to to Tap Ex like 5 times in a week. I moved to Kauai Hawaii we don't have Boba. And I came back to visit and I ordered it here in Oceaside, and I'm so Happy to have it again it's been way to long with out it. read more

As usual, my Okinawa Milk Tea with boba is delicious! Such a perfect drink on a hot and humid day. Lucas is enjoying the crispy chicken and fried calamari. Wish he liked spice because then I would enjoy it more. I may have to get one more drink to go. It'll be gone before I leave here! read more

Tapioca Express - Digging in! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Oceanside, California

Ordered half sweet Thai tea and the drink I received was sweeter than southern sweet tea from McDonald's. Shame. They also don't use enough milk. Nice people though. read more

The last several time I went I loved it and love trying new things there but was bummed the last time I went my cold drink was warm and wasn't consistent with it's usual taste.. But I still give it a high review because it's yummy! read more

I love love love this place. It's fairly pricey but the boba is always good. Moses and Alyza are my absolute most favorite baristas and always make my drinks with perfection. read more

Little bit of a wait usually but great boba. Prices not bad but would love more flavor options. The place always seems clean and friendly!

I've gone here many times! Each time makes me crave for another time, definitely recommend!

Every time I've gone to Tapioca Express, their employees have been kind, accommodating, and helpful. Sometimes I venture from my favorite Original Milk Tea drink, but consequently discover that I actually crave a different flavor. In those instances, their workers always generously replace my drink without hesitation. I'm impressed by their fun atmosphere, hospitable nature, and appetizing food and drink. Their menu is so large and diverse to suit any taste. I often visit this location with friends whenever we need a pick-me-up or change of mood. All in all, I would recommend this eatery to any caffeine- and/or snack-lover in North County! read more

Delicious jasmine milk tea, which is all I ever get. Only negatives are no call ahead ordering and no stamp cards.

I love to get all of the different flavors when I go. The workers are very friendly and are always kind. Although i have not tried any of their food, I heard it is pretty good. Love it!!! read more

I love boba and have been going here for a while, it's one of my favorite boba places. I went this past Saturday with my sister and got the Thai tea with mini boba, super delicious. There was some confusion with running my card but a receipt printed out so we assumed it went through. My sister and I grabbed our drinks and went out to my car. We probably sat in my car about seven minutes and were about to leave when someone knocked on my window...it was one of the girls who rang me up. I was like wtf. She said my card didn't go through and wanted to run it again, I followed her back inside and they re-did the transaction and it went through this time. I have no problem paying for my purchases, it was definitely an odd experience though. I have never had someone knock on my car window before or try and track me down in a parking lot lol. I used to work in a similar business and usually when something went wrong and a transaction didn't go through we would just count it as a loss. Mistakes happen. I would never have tried to chase someone down and would definitely not have come up to their car. Overall the food is really good, the workers are very nice and quick. Just a very weird experience but I'll probably go back because I am a boba whore. read more

This place is so good. The guy took his time and gave me samples. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I've gone here a couple of times and both times I have got milk tea green tea with Boba. Before I started going here, I used to go to the bubble tea place in downtown Oceanside. This place is 100 times better than bubble tea and I can safely say I will never return to the downtown one ever again. Now I'm not hundred percent sure, but I'm fairly certain they at least make the boba fresh because they seem to make everything else fresh at this location. That to me is a huge plus. Suffice to say I love this place and I hope they survive. The other businesses I've seen in this location have not lasted very long, and I hope it's not the same for this one. read more

This place is absolutely AMAZING! I could go on and on about this place! The employees are always so enthusiastic and helpful whenever I'm confused about items on the menu. I've tried every single drink and snack/meal on the menu and I'm never disappointed. Plus their chi-chi fries are THE BEST. But you could also never go wrong with just french fries with a side of chipotle sauce :) read more

I love boba, but it's kind of hit or miss; this place hits it! I have had several drinks of theirs before, and this was actually the place where I first tried boba. I recently had their hot almond milk tea and it was DELICIOUS! The best I've ever had, although I could've gone with a little more boba than was given. The workers here are always very friendly and the shop itself is adorable, with games and a huge TV to watch whatever quirky thing they have playing. The drinks take a little while to make, but they're worth it. Overall, I love this place! read more

Great boba place! I always buy the coconut tea w lychee. Delicious! Just watch the time you go, sometimes it's crowded.

Sooooo relieved - we were really stressing about finding a good bubble tea place ;) this place hits the mark and then some -great low cost (under 10 and under 5) snacks & small meals - awesome read more

If I'm ever in the area, this is the place I stop by to get some boba. The atmosphere is very friendly and clean, and the menu variety is great especially for someone with a sweet tooth, as there are a lot of fruity options which I personally prefer. My favorite part is the service, and I always look forward to seeing Mikaela who always remembers my order and serves it with the sweetest smile! read more

Really love the atmosphere at this place. My family really loves Boba and we try all the Boba locations pretty much every where we go! Tap ex has such a great atmosphere, they have games you can play and even run XMC in the background on the TV, lol. The employees are always very helpful and knowledgable about the different beverages. The one guy there Anthony, makes my Matcha snow perfectly, and my wife loves the coconut snow. The only issue is finding good parking because of all the other venues in the area. read more

Girl with bobbish, spiky short hair was extremely rude. Will not be returning no matter how badly I want milk tea. Everything is mostly syrups and powders anyway. read more

I will make it my own personal mission to try every drink on this menu. I mean why not??? I saw some other people commented on the service being bad. I've had nothing but positive experiences every time I've gone there. The people are always extremely helpful (and patient!!) with all my silly questions. I always like to know what the drink I'm ordering will taste like and they never act annoyed. Bottom line: I'll be back! :] P.S. Yes it is a bit hidden.. those reviews do not lie! It's behind Chipotle and to the left to Pier 1. read more

Didn't realize that they have food there, I thought it was only drinks. The food isn't expensive and it's very good. The staff is super friendly also. I will be back for more very soon read more

Came here today with my mom for an early Mother's Day dessert after eating at Macaroni Grill. I ordered one of each of the following drinks.....a large milk tea with boba, a large oolong green tea milk tea with boba and a large Earl Grey milk tea with boba. I clearly stated all of them are milk teas with boba. When the girl who was helping us repeated our order, the blenders in the background was going on so I couldn't quite here her but figured she got our order right cuz I've never had problem here before. I get my order and noticed one of the drinks was not a milk tea. I flagged the girl over and said that all the drinks were supposed to be milk teas. She said that she can quickly fix it and I was okay with her doing this until she snaps back at us by saying "well the next time I repeat your order, make sure you say oolong milk tea instead of oolong green tea!" (on the milk tea menu it says oolong green tea and yes I did say oolong green tea milk tea!) We left with our order finally correct but it will make us think twice about coming here again! #1 Learn some damn manners!!!! #2 I know what I ordered and it wasn't correct when I got it and we were nice to you when we questioned it and you didn't have to be rude especially since we tipped you! read more

Run away, if you see the short hair lady at the counter. You pay $5.35 instead of $4.35 and little boba?! Stingy in boba and a dollar more for the drinks compared to other Tapioca Express. read more

At first, I was hesitant to try this place because of the reviews but, in the end, I decided to check it out for myself. I am very happy I did so. When I got to the store, there was a line, but the staff handled it well. I received friendly customer service from the cashier who helped me better understand the menu and even suggested a drink based on flavors I told her I liked! I ended up ordering a taro-coconut flavored smoothie with tapioca pearls and waited less than I expected given the amount of people ahead of me. The environment was different for a boba shop. More modern and streamlined. The big screen was playing kpop videos which entertained me while I waited for my drink. Sure, if you're going to compare this shop to the boba places down south, it wouldn't do so well, but it is the best choice in north county. Saves me gas and time, and I still get great boba (way better than bubble tea, that's for sure). read more

Very different from the other locations I've been to with fewer selections of food and boba. Had the essentials but overall good drinks.

Great drinks, great service, complimentary remade our drink just because we didn't like the favor. Very happy with experience, will be returning! Try the Okinawa! Super sweet and tasty. read more

If you ever want a place with a great drink and great service? Come to Tapioca Express. This place is amazing and the drinks are always satisfying! I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

this is the worst boba place ever! customer service was rude and obnoxious! the drinks are horrible! the flavors have no flavor and they don't blend their drinks enough and they are very overpriced! we went to get our drinks remade because they were just horrible and they gave us an attitude, just rude and disrespectful! read more

Went here today later afternoon with my husband and his little sister and we heard good things about this boba shop so we decided to try it instead of bubble tea in downtown oceanside, big mistake obviously. I ordered the taro milk tea, then changed my mind 2 seconds later and wanted the taro icey. I recieved the taro milk tea but shrugged it off thinking they were sidetracked. I love taro usually but it was disgusting here. Luke warm and full of ice. And to make things worse the boba was hard not chewy and soft like it should be. All in all I will no longer be going to this boba hotspot anymore. Employees were super nice tho which is why my review was 2 stars instead of 0 or 1 like originally planned read more

basically, this place doesn't really live up to it's name. the ones in san diego are better. first time i went here, i got mocha snow bubble with boba. watery & didn't have much flavor. such a disappointment :( & second time, i got an avocado snow bubble (my favorite tapex drink). i was so sad! it tasted "okay". but definitely didn't get it right. it WASNT SMOOTH, like what some other people here on yelp are saying. it was like i was drinking a snowcone. -_- i had to chew my drink. ugh. read more

Best boba you can get in town! It's a nice hangout space to study and hang out with friends. Drinks come out really fast and are worth the price! read more

This freakin place is soo slow!!! 3 people behind the counter not even busy only 3 other guests here takes them forever to even get my order and it takes all 3 to make 1 drink!!! They seriously need to get some experienced people up in there or step it up this is ridiculous read more

i like the cashier, she was helpful and repeated our order to us to double check she got everything right. we ordered the frosti red bean and it leaked so much, my pants were drenched. we also ordered strawberry green tea, milk tea, and thai tea. they were all decent drinks same quality as the other tapioca express in san diego. I was however intrigued with some of the snacks they offered. they had popcorn shrimp, tofu/pop corn chicken/shrimp wrap. Idk if they offer this anywhere else, i've never seen any advertisments for it, but they posted it all over which i though was interesting. i'm just glad theres a tap ex in northern san diego, next stop mira mesa/pq area? please. read more

Came here once I found out they had a grand opening for a boba shop in Oceanside. Parking is reasonable since it's in a plaza, so parking might not be close depending on how busy it gets but you will find a spot somewhere in there. The shop itself can be hidden from view, its behind towards the right of Chipotle so make sure to keep an eye out for Chipotle to find this shop. Got there at opening time and noticed only two people were working, one at the register and one in the back. It's rather roomy, enough tables to accommodate a small handful of people. Right after I ordered the line started to pile up with customers and they got a bit overwhelmed. I've been to other Tapioca Express and got my drink done rather expedient but I think there still new to the job so I guess that must've been why it took a bit. The pricing is definitely on the higher side, I payed a little over 5$ for a large avocado snow bubble with boba which I've payed for around 3 at another Tapioca Express. Quality was pretty sweet, I think they added a tad bit too much of syrup. Overall experience was well, parking was reasonable and the workers were professional and the shop itself was very clean. In regards to quality of work and efficiency, I've had better at another location but once again it might be because it's the grand opening. I'll definitely be coming back though since it's the only Tapioca Express within my location. read more

What is wrong with this place? I almost choked myself to death with 2 pieces of broken gray colored SHARP PLASTICS in my drink. It was not only disgusting and unsanitary, but it was genuinely dangerous. How did it get in to my drink? I ordered my drink (coffee jelly boba milk tea) around 5pm today (2/25/2018). Please let me know if anyone else had this and please be careful!! I used to come here for my occasional boba cravings, but I will never come back again. read more

Love this place!! I stop by all the time after I get off from work. It's so great to finally have a legit boba place in the North County area. The drinks are great, especially the Thai tea, and the food is bomb. The workers are so awesome and friendly, especially Mikaela! She's such a sweetheart, and she gives the best drink recommendations! Honestly I look forward to every visit! read more
