Drinks are ok but service takes way too long for no good reason. The place is practically empty half the time! Unprofessional staff!

This place is great! The customer service is great, they take the time to answer all of your questions since they have a wide selection of drinks. They use fresh fruit which makes all of their drinkd taste even better! They also have games in there and a big screen TV, so it feels very cozy and comfortable! This place is hit or miss with the boba.. Depending on who's working sometimes it's mushy and sometimes it's not sweetened.. The teas are always good though, no complaints there and the employees are really nice! Just wish they had some consistency with the boba pearls. read more

If you like Boba, and you prefer poor and ungrateful service, this location of a Tapioca Express is just what you're looking for. Harsh lighting, poor sanitation, and a staff who doesn't give a damn about your business round the bill. They were nasty enough that even my kids asked "why the boba people were so mean". This is a stark contrast to the other franchises if this chain. However, this one? Nasty. Our advice? Try somewhere else. read more

A Boba place that offers a variety of milk-tea and coffee drinks and some snacks. The service is relatively quick and there are a lot of tasty flavors of milk tea. However, they have really shrunken their menu down. I used to be a regular in a San Diego location 3 years ago, and there was a full menu. Now there are just "snacks" which are satisfying, but I miss being able to get a meal here. I got the coconut pineapple milk tea, and it didn't really taste like coconut. Also, I was sitting waiting for my calamari rings, received my drink, then I head the front cashier ask if anyone got my calamari rings- and they responded with "oh" and I had been there 7 minutes already. There wasn't a crowd so it was weird that they were that forgetful. Overall, come here for the milk-tea and drinks, and only order food if you need to. read more

finally a tap-ex in the north county. i'm happy. the service is always solid when i'm here. i always get the same here. passion fruit black tea. the reason why i'm dropping it a star is that the black tea -taste is inconsistent at times. Overally flat tasting to overly sweet. The interior is nice and open which is good. I do feel at times they make you feel rushed by just staring at you. Its a bit uncomfortable. I havent tried their "popcorn" chicken here... but i do look forward to seeing how that turns out. The place is a bit hidden because its around the corner near chipotle and men's warehouse. I'm gonna reserve my judgment after I tried their food here. I do like the fact they have a wide selection versus other boba places I've been to. Plus the fact that tap-ex is a chain brings it reputation up a notch. read more

Been here quite a few times. Still pretty good boba like other tap exes. They have their bad days where boba is doesn't taste good since its too hard. Its difficult to connect to the internet and the employees are rude. Just the little things made me frustrated that I had to give this place a 3 star. read more

I love coming to Tapioca almost every other day to get my large Thai Tea Snow Bubble. Every time I go the service is very efficient and the people are always so kind and joyous. Tapioca Express has always been my go to spot for boba. Recently found out that they had opened up a spot in Oceanside and decided to stop by tonight. All I can say is, I'm hella happy they have a place here. Now I don't have to drive 45 mins away to San Diego or up to Irvine. Ordered my usual Avocado Snow with boba and crispy chicken. My boys and I love this Tapioca Express place. We always get their snow bubble drinks (chocolate, mango with rainbow jelly, and taro with tapioca) all fantastic!! we also like their calamari too. The staff is always wonderful and will make suggestions! Everyone should try this place!! read more

I can finally enjoy great boba in Carlsbad! Tapioca Express has a nice clean store with decent boba. The selections aren't as big as Tapioca Heaven (my fave), but they have a solid menu with great flavors. My only complaint is that my drink wasn't "coconutty" enough, but I did enjoy the drink nonetheless. read more

Unfortunately every time I come here or decide to give it another chance, it's always disappointing. The Taro milk is too sweet and the mini honey Boba I order is always hard and sticks to your teeth. The better Boba places are a good drive away so it said to say oceanside is nice the best place to get Boba. read more

What a great place. Visited the Tapioca Express tonight next to Chipolte and Barns and Noble. Got there around 10 pm on a Saturday and there were about 7 or 8 people in there enjoying themselves it seemed (always a good sign right?).. Never had Boba before so my lady and I tried both, the Yogurt Smoothie and Cold Milk Tea both with Boba. The young man behind the counter couldn't have been any nicer. He explained each of their drinks and gave us a sample of the milk tea. Overall it was a great experience. I definitely recommend getting the Boba with anything you get there because it makes everything taste better (chewy and tasty with a great texture). My last couple experiences here have been disappointing. Last time, they used an unripe avocado so it gave my drink a bitter taste. They did replace the drink and used a ripened avocado for the second one. This time around, I ordered a milk tea and my BF ordered a honeydew milk tea and they gave him a honeydew icy. His drink was super sweet and they got it wrong so he gave it back. When they finally gave him the honeydew milk tea he ordered, it was still too sweet. I have been here a couple times. My past experiences have been fine. However, my recent experience was not the greatest. I went here late on a Saturday night. It was busy but that shouldn't mean any less quality of a drink. I had gotten two taro milk teas, which I had before (it's been good). This time it was so thick, comparable to whipping cream thick. I told them it was more thick than usual and with hesitation they responded to me and said it was supposed to be thick and didn't act on fixing the drink right away. They fixed it in a quick, sloppy way by only adding ice to it. It was the worst drink I've gotten and I wish I had gotten my money back. read more

Wow first time here and the sevice was excellent. Kiana, Bryan, and Diana are funny and very helpful on helping me choose drinks.

What I like about this Tap Ex is how different it is from all the others. The menu here is different with a lot more choices. In addition, you can add ice cream into your drinks! I've only had their milk tea and thai tea, both of which I added vanilla ice cream into and we're very tasty. I also got the popcorn shrimp with level 3 spicyness and it was really salty. Probably wouldn't get it again unless I'm getting rice with it. Parking is easy to find and customer service is good. If you're a fan of Tap Ex, I would suggest giving this one a try as it is very different! read more
