    Corn Fritters and Chicken Bom-Bom
    Angie T.

Holy cow! I feel really sad for the other lunch goers who are waiting in line at the Cosi and other food trucks and leaving this truck wide open for my impatient curiosity to approach because they have nooo idea of what they're missing out on. I've just taken my first bites of my lunch and I am completely blown away the the quality of food for a food truck. And what a great deal too! Two choices for only $9. You don't get much better than that in the lunch price range in the DC metro area. I tried my hand at the Corn Fritters and Chicken Bom-Bom. Let's start with the fact that these things are deliciously crispy including the garlic fries. So yum! The corn fritters are sweet and have a great creamy sauce on top and the chicken bom-bom were so flavorful. Like I said I just took my first bites and I couldn't help but share with my Yelp community how incredible this experience is. Next time this truck is in your hood, go eat there.

If you are a fan of fried food, this is the spot hands down! I don't write reviews for food trucks because it's usually just mediocre, but when I do find a good one, I like to make it known ;) 3 tapas for 10 bucks and it was so worth it! the portions were huge and everything was delicious. I had the corn fritters, pork sliders, garlic fries, and chicken w/ rice. Everything had so much flavor and I could seriously munch on those corn fritters all day.

First time I saw this food truck in Rosslyn. The pork sliders were absolutely amazing, and I've tried many variations of pulled pork and these were just on point. Lean but still very moist. No big pieces of fat laying in it like other pulled porks. The BBQ and aioli combination was delicious. Garlic fries were also very good -- didn't need any ketchup. Only draw back was that it took way too long to order and receive my food. Took about 25 minutes. The food more than made up for it, though.

I stumbled upon this truck while strolling to Harris Teeter to grab lunch. I initially wanted a small bite to eat..soup maybe. So I see this Tapas truck...hmmm tapas mean small right?!? Lol I stopped. I got the pulled pork sliders and let me tell you they were delish. You get two tapas items for 9bucks. The sliders came with these amazingly season fries. I think it was pesto sauce. The platter was also accompanied by yellow rice and a sauce. Everything was delish and my order didn't take long at all. That's great service when you're buying from a food truck and standing in the cold weather. I hope my pics do the food justice. I really enjoyed the fries, sliders, and rice. Overall I was very pleased with my transaction. If i could I would've given 4.5 stars!! Missing a half star because it is mobile. If i return and the service is great, I will update to a 5 star for sure.

It was election day 2012. I was walking to the White House when I came upon this truck. 3 items for $9, and it's a LOT of food. I got the fried shrimp with garlic fries, and chicken braised in wine with saffron rice. Everything was amazing! The fried shrimp was so crunchy with a coating that was semi sweet and sour. The garlic fries were also very crispy and wasn't shy on the garlic. The braised chicken was the perfect headliner to go with the saffron rice and balanced out the other fried foods with its home cooked coq au vin likeness. This just might be my favorite food truck. I went by The White House to see the facade of what was at stake on that day, even tho the Pres wasn't there.

Yummy. Got shrimp and pork with rice and garlic fries. The fries were so good. Everything very tasty and fresh.

Shrimp Pil Pil $9 (3/5 NOMs)

Shrimp Pil Pil $9 (3/5 NOMs) Tasting some tapas on wheals from DC's Spanish food truck. Thinking its tapas I was surprise with the portion, which is a good surprise since tapas are too expensive and too small. Not enough to fill up multiple friends, but enough to share so you can try other nomnom tapas. Nice layer of crispy shrimp with a sweet smokey red sauce on top of garlic fries. Shrimp was very light and not overly too breaded so you can still taste the original flavors, but at the time seem a bit bland. Fries were not as garlicky was we hoped for, more of regular fries really. Be careful its hot, they serve it quickly and fresh.

I happened upon the Tapas Truck at Rock the Core Cider Festival and was on the verge of trying it after seeing the options (Rabas, Chicken Morris, Shrimp Pil-Pil and a few others) but absolutely knew I had to get it once I saw someone eating the calamari sticks with garlic fries. The prices were decent - anywhere from $8-$10 - average for any food truck. The service was wonderful - they are so friendly and work fast so that the food is out to you within minutes. And the food was beyond amazing. Every component of the Rabas (calamari sticks with a smoky tomato sauce, over a "basket" of garlic fries that are seasoned perfectly) was cooked to perfection. Oftentimes you'll come across garlic fries that are completely covered in garlic bits and nothing else, but these had a mix of spices and the garlic was subtle but still present enough to really enhance the overall taste. The consistency of the tomato sauce was great as well. It wasn't runny, it wasn't too chunky, and it spread evenly over the calamari and top of the fries - a really nice flavor addition to both. Another added plus to the Tapas Truck was the presentation of their food. They don't put their food in the standard paper food tray like a lot of food trucks, but rather in a newspaper printed paper cone (with a fork so you're not having to fish out the rest of your fries). It's a nice touch that really differentiates them from the rest of the market. Can't wait to go back and try something else!

Excellent concept, healthy food and a mix and match Spanish tapas menu, this is a superb choice for lunch. The lines can be long - but the food is better than average--and the service is fast and efficient. Hard to know what to recommend - shrimp, chorizo, empanadas, sliders - everything has been hot and flavorful. Most come with saffron rice and fries. Some come with a salad. Take your pick 2 tapas for $9 or 3 tapas for $12.

Shrimp Pil-Pil, Chicken Morris, and Veggie Tapas with Garlic Fries
    Jason S.

(3.5 stars) I really enjoyed this food truck. It was a nice change of pace from the seemingly ubiquitous gyro and taco trucks. I didn't have any issues with the food being cold as other reviewers did. For $10, you get three tapas, which turns out to be a surprisingly large amount of food. I ordered the shrimp pil-pil, chicken morris, and veggie tapas which came with garlic fries. The shrimp pil-pil was essentially mini fried shimp served in a spicy sauce. I was surprised how many shrimp it came with and how great they were. I wasn't crazy about the sauce... it was good but didn't have any kick to it. I felt the same about the chicken morris. The chicken itself was really good and I enjoyed the sauce but it felt just a bit lacking in spice. The veggie tapas was my least favorite, not that it was bad, just I wasn't crazy about it. I appreciated the complexity of its ingredients but I didnt feel the need to finish it. I really loved the garlic fries though. It was nice to get some fries that weren't just cooked and then had some seasoning thrown on them at the end.

Delicious rice, good aoili sauce and corn fritters (left), Spanish torte was good (right) , but small. Fries were dry.
    Aarti B.

Okay - mixed bag of goods. Went there twice, enjoyed the flavorful rice, mushrooms, and aoili sauce, but the fries were a bit dry. The torta was very small and the corn fritters were alright. Good customer service, but nothing too special. Fun to try, but won't be coming back.

The restaurant was packed. So for sure get a reservation if you can. First things first, the restaurant is beautiful. The art, the menus, the ambiance. Just a really great hangout spot. Our server was really knowledgeable and friendly. As for the food , unfortunately, i didn't have anything that blew me away. My mini hamburger/Ibérico de bellota mini hamburguesa was actually my favorite item. Very juicy and flavorful. Though $13.00 for one slider was a bit much. My least favorite was the rabbit confit with apricot puree/Conejo en salmorejo con puré de albaricoques. I was excited about this because I can't recall the last time I've ever had rabbit but I think it was the texture of the puree that took away from the dish. Coming in at the middle was the seafood paella. I know it's one of the restaurants headlining menu items but I found the seasoning inconsistent. The rice seemed a bit salty and the shrimp was pretty bland. Combining it to balance it out didn't yield the flavor I was hoping for. Weirdly enough, if I went back and the table ordered it again, I definitely wouldn't mind but probably wouldn't get it myself unless my companions were interested. All in all, I'm not opposed to trying other items on the menu should I know anyone who would like to visit though I can't say it hooked me enough for me to go on my own accord

The dark warm mood lighting, the corrugated wall, the intimate seating, and of course the small share plates makes for the sexy experience tapas is suppose to be! It is typical of Spanish flavors, heavily relying on high-end cured meats and cheeses, and classics such as croquetas. There is something very special that goes into tapas because its suppose to satisfy you based on good taste over quantity. Large shrimp in a generous skillet of olive oil and slow cooked garlic slices and a iberico mac and cheese are some examples of how they elevate classics we are familiar with. We really liked that they learned into garlic and spice. We found dried Aji Caballero in our meal, great attention to source country. They have a very robust and generous drinks menu. The Spanish cheese (Mahón) along with the crackers and mustard sauce was superb. All the meats had their own characteristics and unique flavors but the jamón stood out to us the most. It even went well with the sauce that came for our cauliflower dish. It was fun piecing the components together to make unique tasty bites. I would come back just for the charcuterie alone. The drinks we got were Angelli's Ferrari along with the espresso martini-ish. My favorite was definitely the Ferrari one, but the espresso martini was super mild and had a slight coffee flavor. Good for people who like very light coffee. The Ferrari one was very bright and had lots of fruity notes to hide the alcohol. For entrées, we had the shakshouka, crispy, cauliflower, and brunch pork belly. Out of all these the cauliflower was definitely my favorite; super light with good earthy flavors and nuttiness and acidity from the lemon. The brunch pork belly was good too. The meat was perfectly cooked, but I found the beans to be a little bit overwhelming. I'm not a fan of baked beans personally so that might've been my fault for picking the dish, but I still did enjoy it and the pork that was well cooked made up for it; definitely for someone who likes beans. Shakshouka was very hearty with a lot of tomatoes and red vegetables in general. If you like lasagna or any sort of tomato spaghetti dish, you will like this one. I found this to be a bit much though. I was slightly tired of the flavor at the end. Just be aware it is a bit spicy. We had a pear tart for dessert. Honestly, it reminded me of an apple pie and it was good, but I think that some of the other desserts would've been a bit better. Had a lot of sweet cinnamon notes along some crispy flaky dough from the outside. It was an interesting take but it was still good. The atmosphere is great here; we had seating on the second floor, so it was different from the busy first floor.
