    Portuguese cheese bread
    Holly R.

5 stars because the manager, Michelle, and the staff were so nice. This a small fast casual restaurant. Walking by, I thought it was a beer hall! Ha, TAP is an acronym for Tapioca, Acai, Pao de Quejo (Portuguese cheese bread). On this visit, I just had the cheese bread. It was a delicious snack.

One of my favorite food experiences on this trip to NYC. I chose it as the food I wanted to have one more time on the day I left, getting carry out before taking the train to JFK airport. The online order and pickup process couldn't be easier. The pao de queijo is perfection and deeply satisfying if you like cheese and bread. It's gluten free as it is made with tapioca flour as well. The steak sandwich (I had it with the tapioca wrap) was super flavorful. The Brazilians know how to do meat! The tapioca wrap is okay. Some bits of it are like hard croutons which I don't like crunching on.

We received 4 wonderfully delicious pão de queijo and wow! This is perhaps some of the best pão de queijos I've ever had! And I even lived in São Paulo! So I know a good pão de queijo! I've also had pão de queijos from other spots in NYC, and Tap definitely triumphs them. I heated up the pão de queijos because I cannot eat them cold. I heated them in 350 for about 15 mins. They came out so fluffy and perfectly decadent with cheese. Each pão de queijo gave me 4 bites, definitely not enough!!! I will absolutely be heading over to Tap on the upper west side as soon as I can!

Smoked salmon egg wrap, pão de queijo, acai bowl

Good spot for a quick lunch not too far from Central Park. It caters to any diet really so parties with mixed dietary needs should try this spot out. I had the smoked salmon egg wrap, my husband the caprese tapioca sandwich, and our daughter had an acai bowl. We got a couple pão de queijos - definitely try the pesto flavor! We enjoyed all our food, everything came out fast. It's a bit cramped inside as far as seating goes but it is NYC after all. Would visit again!

Great little spot with gluten free sandwiches and cheese bread. We grabbed a quick bite here before seeing a movie in Lincoln Square. My friend swears by the tapioca wraps but I really wanted to try the cheese bread so I had my chicken sandwich on the cheese bread, which was delicious and satisfying despite being on the smaller side. Not a lot of tables and more of a grab and go spot, but a great one at that!

I've tried the cheese bread from here before and it was really good. I got their açaí bowl today and the topping to açaí ratio was really good and it was genuinely one of the best açaí bowls I've had. Service was really good too, the interior is cute. Def go!

Traditional Brazilian Cheese Bread + Spicy Brazilian Cheese Bread + Chicken Club Tapioca Sandwich

I usually don't go to these health food stores / cafe type restaurants, but I decided to give this place a try. It's funny because I deeply associate the TAP acronym with Taiwanese American Professionals. Either way, this place was so much better than I had ever imagined and I will definitely be back. - Traditional Brazilian Cheese Bread - Definitely one of the best cheese breads I've had. I was a bit hesitant on ordering this at first because it seemed like it would just sit in the display case for a long time, but it was delicious! It was very chewy and was filled with cheesy flavors. - Spicy Brazilian Cheese Bread - I thought this was okay, would opt for the original version instead. - Monster Bowl - I haven't had an acai bowl in so long and I really should have it more often because I love it so much. Sure the weather isn't the best to eat this right now because it's windy and cold but the bowl was delicious. I was surprised that at every bite there were still nuts, fruit, and cacao bits to give it a complex flavor and texture profile. - Chicken Club Tapioca Sandwich - I didn't really know what to expect from this very expensive sandwich, but it was so much better than I thought. They essentially formed tapioca into a shell to hold all the ingredients which was very cool. The shell also added a crispiness factor to the sandwich. I thought the sandwich was going to be very flavorless and dry but the tomatoes helped create more moisture and they had cheese coat all over the tapioca. Overall, great experience at Tap and I would come back for more, surprisingly.

What a great find . I was in the city to see a show at Beacon Theater on a Friday evening and we wanted something quick, good, Gluten free and healthy and boy did this hit the spot. The place is small but does have a few tables insides. It's Brazilian. They have these delicious protein smoothies, fruit smoothies, power bowls, Pao de Queijo which are addicting and delicious . The Sandwiches are made out of Pao de Queijo instead of regular bread or wrap. The chicken for my mini sandwich was shredded, full of flavor and not dry! Some item I found were a bit pricy. They had a delicious coconut brownie. Piece was tiny and it was 6.00 . Sandwiches varied in size and price . But everything is made fresh , authentic and Gluten-free safe . It was very tasty! Staff was friendly, service was wonderful. I'd love to go back if I'm In the area!

Obsessed! This place is paradise for someone with a gluten and dairy allergy. Everything is gluten free and they have such amazing vegan cheese to substitute in the sandwiches. The wraps are good but my absolute favorite are the tapioca sandwiches which can be made without the parmesan crust. They have the most insane texture and are unlike anything else I've had. The best combo I've tried so far is the chicken club tapioca with vegan mozzarella. I order it on Uber eats almost every week lol. It can be hard to trust Uber Eats when you have allergies but I totally trust this place and it has become my go-to. Whenever I place an order, they bring it in an orange tap bag with a happy little message written on it for me. Thank you tap!!

This is in a ritzy part of town on 60th St between Madison Ave & Park Ave with Ferraris & Bentleys parked on the street, so you have to guess that the storefront rent must be astronomical. But oh, these gastronomical sandwiches are off the charts and can justify the price. Once you decipher the names of the sandwiches on the menu and see what's between the bread, you will want to try all of them. I settled on 2 finalists, but decided get both anyway. All sandwiches are made fresh with some of the best looking meats & ingredients I've ever seen! And what's better is that they bake all the focaccia for the sandwiches fresh and in-house. You see the bread oven right behind the register. I wonder if I could buy a slab of that bread? The L'Inferno brought images of Danté Alighieri's version of the Underworld to mind, but was a spicy hot masterpiece of sandwich art. The combination of thinly sliced roasted porchetta, nduja, spicy eggplant & arugula was fantastic! The fresh baked focaccia took it even further. But I did learn something new today besides Italian pronunciation, which was that nduja (silent n) is a spicy sausage from Calabrese that's spreadable like butter. I gotta get me some of that stuff! The La Paradiso sounds like the third installment of Danté's Divine Comedy trilogy, but is a very mild, but tasty sandwich with mortadella, stracciatella & crushed pistachios in pistachio cream. The pistachio cream is a stroke of culinary genius and gives the sandwich an amazingly smooth texture & taste. The only part of the Divine Comedy missing from their menu is La Purgatorio and I do not want to find out what would go into that sandwich!

Still, after seeing plate after plate come out to nearby tables, I decided to give it a try. What a surprise. It was a huge portion of fresh white meat chicken with a light coating and a perfectly balanced sauce, served piping hot. We couldn't finish it (knowing we had a big dinner later), but I kept going back for "just one more piece" more times than I'd like to admit. I have three big guys with me and sometimes quick lunches need to be more filling than fast food options, so we chose Alidoro's under Rockefeller Plaza. We could walk to it form the hotel and it was in the middle off all we wanted to show the boys on their first day (first time) in the city. We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed. We were all full and happy when we weren't finished, so what more could we want for a relatively quick NYC meal? Being under the plaza, the restrooms were outside the shop but very close by so we were able to wash hands and such before journeying out into the wild.
