Located right across the street from Engineers Gate its a nifty spot for runners to grab a healthy bite and tasty iced coffee after a training run around the park. The Athletes Breakfast Burrito with a mixed greens salad hit the spot. We had nice service, got a table pretty quickly even on a crowded weekend morning, and never felt rushed. Bonus was scoring an outside table on a beautiful day. Menu has more than enough to choose from for a small cafe in a church setting. It's a smaller menu but fits well here. I also thought prices were ok and pretty much representative of the area. No complaints as I've never had a bad experience here. Plus, they have a decent bathroom too.

We came here during the coldest day in NYC. The staff and waiters/waitresses are really nice. It is a small spot attached to the church but we really love the ambiance. Food and coffee is gooood!

Such a great first experience with my cousin from out of town. We got there at 9am and good thing we did bc a long line formed shortly. The service was great and so was my oat milk latte and breakfast burrito. Even the salad was good, much better than I expected from a side salad. The church is a perfect location for it and it's right across from Central Park. Sitting outside was perfect! Will return for sure.

This bluestone is connected to a wonderful church on the upper east side. This is a more smaller location too. They used to have plenty of outdoor seating but due to construction they had to take it down. They still have some tables outside. Indoors there is a longish communal table in middle and some booth / bar like seating around it. I usually get the BLATE here which is Bacon, Lettuce, avocado ( aioli), Tomato and egg. And their coffees, hot chocolate are good here. This and the avocado toast are the only two things I really get here. Both are delicious. If you are in the area I would recommend this spot.

Pretty well seasoned sandwich but the side chips were not it. Service was pretty quick. Inside is definitely a solid vibe.

Maybe I was starving but this place is so good. The food is perfect and the flat whites divine. Staff are super friendly and kind. Seating is minimal but the ambiance of an old church is so cool.

2.5/5 honestly wasn't wowed by their drinks. pretty crowded on a weekend but was lucky to get a seat inside. service was fast. got the strawberry matcha cloud latte. the matcha was hardly noticeable so it just felt like a sweet treat. servers sort of weirdly rushed us out at the end???

We were lucky enough to get a seat inside. Insanely tiny space but they are pumping our great breakfast items! Went before heading into the Guggenheim- staff was good- doing the best they could in the small space. I would go back if in the area

Loved the unique location and vibe of this spot right across the street from Central Park. My friend and I went for lunch after we visited the Met and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The restaurant is attached to a church so it has the beautiful architecture and old world stone feel. The restroom is inside the church as well. We dined in and the food was great and the service was pretty good as well. I got a chicken salad, one of their bottled juices and we got some coffee and tea to go as well. My only constructive criticism is that they need to expand their menu offerings. I realize it's a small place, but I wish there had been more options to choose from. I did love that they were all healthy.

Sorry I started eating it before I snapped a photo because it looked so good

The prosciutto burrata sandwich is to die for. No notes. Get it or regret it. My bf got the scramble and that was pretty good too. It's a bit on the pricier side ($52 total for two entrees and 2 drinks). Matcha heaven drink was tasty as well.

Came here before a candlelight concert at the church right before closing. They were able to accommodate my to-go order and had me in and out quickly. We had lattes and an almond croissant. All very good would definitely come back if in the area again.

James gave us excellent service.... just a magical touch to an extraordinary place. Will be back.

Really good breakfast/brunch spot after a walk through Central Park! I got a wrap that was solid but nothing special, but the side salad that came with it was really great. The iced chai latte was also delicious. Really cool ambiance with how this location is connected to a church. Only negative thing to say was about the wait time. The host told us about 10 minutes and it ended up being more like 25. Totally understandable on a Sunday morning but a better estimate would've been helpful! Overall, about what I expected and a pretty solid restaurant!

When I went there in November, it was first come first served. There is a little hostess stand on the sidewalk. Good luck!

Second, we ordered the falafel bowl that includes three falafels, pickled onions, avocado, cucumber, whipped garlic feta, kale salad, romesco, and Za'atar dressing that had a delicious flavor. However, our ultimate favorite had to be the Thai Crunch Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was fairly busy, and our drinks took a while to come, but the food arrived shortly after. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. It's $25 for unlimited drinks plus food by the way. Which is sad is a deal these days. Anyway, their happy hour is solid enough for a Monday and was meeting up with a friend I hadn't seen in over a year. Place is actually very cute. There are no tvs which I appreciate and the paneling of the walls and decor with all the flowers is quite tasteful. Happy hour deals 4-7pm Mon-Fri & all night Thursday apparently: Aperol Spritz $8, Hugo Spritz $9, Paloma $10, Mules $9, Draft Beers (except Guinness) $7, House Wine $9. As well as 2 Appetizer Bites for $19.95. Not the best but not the worst. I'm normally not a Spritz kind of gal. I think watering down prosecco or wine is heinous. But it was a Monday and I didn't exactly feel like powering down into happy hour so Aperol Spritz it was which switched to a Modelo later. It was the perfect drink situation on a god awful hot as hell day. We also ordered the fish tacos and what initially were the curry fries but they brought out the Greek fries. I wasn't mad about it. Honestly was torn between the two and I don't send food back unless something really bad happened. But it was essentially a side of Caesar salad dressing with feta cheese and generous amount of herbs on a very sparse and frugal amount of crispy standard cut fries. Now I know why it's a 2 for $20 deal. The tacos were 3 in an order which I guess is typical. They weren't bad but nothing stood out to me. I'd come for the drinks or try something else on the menu.
