I really want to review this place higher. We have been here three times total because our friends love Tap. The food is okay and admittedly once I had a great burger here, but the service is awful. Two of the three times we dined here was with our kids. Both times they messed up my kid's orders. Once they didn't being one of the kids a meal the other they missed half of my kids order, no sides. Usually, a good selection of beers.. (minus the Bud-Lite, etc) Would be great to have all taps loaded up with local and regional craft beers, and leave out the "crap beer". We veered away from our usually, always getting the siracchi bourbon pizza because it's our fav. Tonight we got the Jammin burger with gouda cheese. The bacon onion jam was the perfect blend of sweet and a light hint of spice. The pork chop special was one of the best pork chops we have had. Perfectly cooked, far from being dry with some kind of apple glaze, that gave you the flavor of cooked apples without the apple. Side of mac and cheese, yum! Came in to try the new menu, Blue Ribbon Zucchini is a no go. Just fried dough. Service is slow. They are nice and friendly, but we've been here for 45 minutes with no food. I really used to love Tap years ago when I was a student at Murray. I recently moved back and noticed that the quality had gone down a bit the first time we ate there since being back. We went tonight though and it was probably the worst experience I've ever had at tap. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and understanding the entire time so 5 stars to her. But the music was so incredibly loud when we came in that I couldn't even hear what the hostess was saying and she couldn't hear me. Tap isn't a dance bar so why in the world have a DJ with music so loud that you can't hear a single thing going on. The kitchen was out of almost every thing I tried to order, which I get, it's COVID, running out of food is normal. I tried to order different drinks, out of both of them, it's fine. What wasn't fine was that we ended up ordering LITs and they were literally the worst LITs I have ever had at Tap. They were completely watered down and tasted basically like juice. The bar remade one of them but only with more mix. Come to find out from the bar, they're only allowed to put 1.5 shots of alcohol into any mixed drink. An LIT is a mix of different alcohols and supposed to be very strong. I completely understand that the price of everything has gone up and maybe they can't afford to put more shots than 1.5 in a drink, but don't say you can make an LIT and basically not make an LIT. I've had better premade bottled LITs. The food we did order was pretty good, not a lot of cheese sauce on the loaded fries. Overall this was easily the worst experience I've had at Tap and I'm not sure if I want to go back. read more

I was so very pleasantly surprised with my experience with Tap 216. The food is delicious and original to the area, the cocktails were original and delicious and the atmosphere is fantastic, particularly in the bar. My husband went there one night for a date and sat at the bar where we were, quite literally, entertained by Sterling. He was fantastic at suggesting cocktails, items off the menu, and was extremely personable. We really enjoyed the service we received from him. My favorite is the crab cake sandwich. I've also loved the hummus flight and lobster mac and cheese. Give it a try. You won't regret it! :) read more

The food at Tap is really good and I like that they rotate some awesome regional craft beers. Their selection is the best in town and the location close to campus is really convenient for me. I think their Monday night trivia is fun and the girl who hosts it does a really good job. I'm hesitant to give it five stars because of the service, though. The people behind the bar have always been really nice and friendly, but the waiting staff is a different story. Most seem annoyed that you're there and it's super awkward. I want to like it, they have a good menu and decent drinks, but for what you pay it's not worth it. The service is bad on all fronts. The servers are okay, but most aren't very friendly or accommodating. The bouncers are horrible, they're rude, aggressive, incredibly unhelpful, and can be super creepy. The bartenders try their best, but there simply aren't enough . As far as dining goes, I've experienced multiple times where they've gotten my order wrong, or where I've left with an upset stomach. The food is incredibly greasy and if it's breaded, count on just eating fried breading. It feels like they're constantly understaffed. It could be a cool atmosphere, and it's usually decently clean, but with all the other great places to go in Murray, Tap 216 is the last place I'd choose. read more

Disappointing. Had the crab and corn chowder, flavor was good but it was served lukewarm. Decided on some of the appetizers as dinner, as they were the only things on the menu that really looked interesting or like anything a little different. The drunken goat sliders were served on buns that were cold and felt a bit stale, would have expected them to be nicely toasted on the cut side and soft and warm. The lobster mac and cheese was good, but kind of a skimpy portion. And the southwest eggrolls tasted like something that they bought frozen. From what I'd heard from others was expecting it to offer some more true entree items. I suppose if they're trying to be a more student-oriented sports bar the menu fits, was just hoping it would be more of a true restaurant. So no real reason I'd go back. read more

This place is under new management, and nothing's changed, unless it went downhill a little more. We sat down and the waitress got to us eventually. I have tried this place one too many times. The last time I got a burger they brought it out without a bun and my fries were cold. The only thing I have enjoyed eating here is their pizza. Aside from the food, the employees are some of the rudest people I have ever met. I am 23 years old and I sat at the bar and watched the so called "manager" purposefully wait on SEVERAL people before me because he can, I guess. Eventually one of my friends came and sat down beside me and she wouldn't allow him to wait on her before me.The managers name is Sterling... Or something along those lines. You can't miss him... He has curly hair and he's rude. One night a young girl was working the floor and took our drink order. We went and sat up at the bar after that and she was so scared of the men working behind the bar because she didn't want them to think she was taking their customers. Thought I would give it a try and was very suprised. Being a MSU grad, I have seen this building host at least 3 businesses. This is the best one yet. Having no referral or prior knowledge of the restaurant, my wife and I decided to stop in for dinner and have a date night at the burrito shack. When we noticed the curb appeal of the building, we changed our minds and walked across the parking lot to check out the menu. Once inside we were greeted by several friendly host. I have to admit that my jaw dropped when I stepped in the door. Having previous knowledge of the building and knowing how dirty it looked with previous owners, I asked for a menu and decided that this was our stop for the evening. I was also sold once I saw the main dining room and the number of people dining. The atmosphere and ambience combined with the decor made the restaurant very inviting and and enhanced the mood. The server gave us the drink menu and it was not lacking. I enjoy a good craft beer every now and then, but being a KY native I always eye the burbon list. It was probably the best selection in town. I ordered a traveler beer but I was disappointed to find that they were sold out of that brand so I made a selection from the domestic list instead. When we got our food I again had my expectations exceeded. Being new to the menu I decided I would try their hamburger (a safe bet). It was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of juciness and came dressed as I ordered it. It also featured a bun that was amazing and waffle fries that had the perfect amount of crispness. My wife had a chicken blt and it looked good. Her only complaint is that it was 2 pieces of chicken instead of a chicken breast. We will return again and continue to try more menu options. Hopefully the weather will be nice next time we stop in and we have have our dinner on the patio, which has been massively overhauled as well. read more
