The quality is fantastic here. They have always been very nice and I can see the hustle. I do often see the same employees and I have been a returning customer for several years. I appreciate that's Mr. Tan values his employees. I always find great service. My cars have been black or dark and I don't like car washes with brushes or machines. This is completely "touchless" meaning full hand car wash. They will have you stay in the car during the wash process and you exit for the interior process. I was really looking forward to trying Tan's Touchless Car Wash. I live nearby and pass it all the time, so I was genuinely excited to finally stop in. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. 2 stars since the Carwash came out really nicely but the people are terrible. $55 if you want your interior cleaned and $33 for simple exterior. Go to the gas station Carwash on the corner of Halford and El Camino for exterior and pay $14-20. To start, the prices are noticeably steep compared to other car washes in the area. Still, I figured I'd give it a try since it was my first time using a touchless service, and I wanted to support a local business. Things began fine, but quickly turned sour due to the lack of basic courtesy and professionalism from the staff (with the exception of the cashier, who was polite). I'm still adjusting to my new push to start button vehicle instead of turn key, and I accidentally kept the keys in my pocket instead of leaving them in the car. A staff member approached me and reprimanded me rudely, as if I should have known better. Instead of calmly explaining the process, I was met with a dismissive and impatient attitude. Despite leaving a $20 tip, the service felt anything but appreciated. When my car was ready, I thanked the staff member who handed it off , he barely acknowledged me, asked for my receipt, opened the door, slammed it, and walked away without a word. I also overheard him and another employee laughing and making remarks in Spanish, seemingly assuming I wouldn't understand, but with four years of Spanish under my belt, I did. Yes, I made a mistake with the key, but a little kindness and clear communication could have gone a long way. For the price, I expected at least basic customer service, courtesy kindness and respect. All the workers are lazy and half of them look hung over. Left dirt residue all over the truck. Washed my rubber floor mates and put them back into my truck wet getting my carpet under them wet. I'm not sure why the rating for this place is so low! I've tried several car washes in the area and haven't found any that compares to this quality for the price. I will say, I haven't brought my car in for any deep cleaning or detailing here, only a basic interior and exterior wash and vacuum (#3 on their list of options). They do an exceptional job every time, especially with the vacuum and internal wipe down. Most places do a very weak job with the vacuum; Tan's does not. They're also fast with each car, although (1) they're very popular so sometimes the wait is long and (2) my car is a Civic, so it's smaller and thus faster to get through. They do charge extra where more difficult cleaning is required (ex: one time my car was covered in sap from a tree - they charged me a bit extra for deep cleaning, since it's difficult to get off without scratching the car, which I totally understand). read more

These guys seemed super friendly and courteous. Asked for a deluxe but then saw they also did hand waxing so I ordered both. Inside is air conditioned and outside has covered seating. Place is busy and efficient! This isn't like the two mobile guys that come to the house and painstakingly detail the crevices of everything, this is your midweek wash to get the bird or raindrops off and clean up your dash so you can continue your day. I forgot smaller bills for a tip and went inside to break a bill, no problem from the guy inside, and I can't tell you how rare that is. I'll come back for my midweek touch ups and tell people about them. For engine and all that detailing I'll leave it to the guys that can take a few hours to come to where you're at or the drop off for the day types. read more

This is the only car wash we go to. There's a hand car wash place we used to go to super close to our house but they charge like 2-2.5 times more and the wait was like 2-3 hours! And the actual wash is the same whether we go there or Tan's. The wait here is super short and reasonable. We go here probably every 3-4 weeks on average between our two cars and we got a good car wash each time. The people who work there are polite and nice. Hard working. I love how we get a coupon every time we go and use it for the next time. It's a hidden gem and we drive out about 20 minutes to go there instead of going to the car wash 5 min away. I think it depends on what you're used to as well. I'm used to super expensive, similar service so I choose this place over others. I don't expect them to do a super detailed job on the interior - for that you need to shell a few hundred bucks with another person or car wash that specializes in that or do that yourself. Did the deluxe wash. Paid $54 +$3 extra for suv. Then paid $3 for tip. End result is that car is not cleaned properly from Outside and inside. I asked the owner why are you not cleaning the basic thing, he is saying we will do in detailing. Basic thing I am referring to is wiping the seats, cleaning the soap left on the inside of the doors, dirt on the doors. He is saying we do only vaccum inside. I went to this car wash after long time. I would like to support the local business at every opportunity. Lots of same old familiar faces and not same old quality they used. I paid about $70 for the deluxe incl $10 for snow residue removal. Oh boy, these guys didn't vacuum, wipe thing down and left pretty as is without an external machine wash and vacuuming obvious places. I would stay away from this place moving forward and find another down the road as I had to pay and redone the interior and exterior cleaning one more time. I've gotten my car done here and it's passable. A fair number of small details missed on the "deluxe" wash but no major issues. I've gotten my sprinter hand-washed here and it was expensive ($120) 3 months ago, but they did a good job (I figured it was worth the extra cost since it's a big vehicle and had to be done by hand). Today they quoted $400 for the same hand wash and wax. When I protested, they said they could wash only for $150, a full $30 more than the price 3 months ago. Been coming here since 2017. Sad to say gradually it seems the service has gone down. I typically select the top package to get inside and outside cleaned. And I expect a reasonable job. Not seriously detailed. I will leave a $20 tip to the people cleaning the inside. However, last time I went will be my last time. After today's experience I won't spend another dollar there. I left my Safeway coupon at home so I had my wife text me a photo of it. The guy at the front denied me the discount because I didn't have the physical coupon. I was like, "Ok, no problem, I live 5 minutes away, I'll go grab it." He says, "let me check with the manager." He comes back and says "It's ok, bring it next time." I was like "Awesome! Thank you so much!" I go through the wash and they do a great job on the outside of my car. Then I get to the interior part. I exit my car, pay inside and go sit down. The same guy who gave me grief about the coupon is the one doing the interior. After about 2 minutes, he goes "OK it's done!" I was thinking, wow that's fast, it usually takes like 10-15 minutes at least when I do the interior detail. So I get in the car and don't really think about it at first. It wasn't until I drove off that I started noticing they did almost nothing on the interior. There was still dog hair in the carpet, dust on the dashboard, the rear dash wasn't touched at all. The seats were not thoroughly cleaned. I could've done a better job in 5 minutes with a shop-vac and some armor-all wipes. I'm not exaggerating, I don't even know what they did. I liked Country Club Car Wash on Stevens Creek Blvd. and went there for many years. Unfortunately they lost their lease so I had to find another car wash. Tan's Touchless Carwash on El Camino Real is close to my house. I've been using them for two years. They do an average job. Today I took my white Subaru Legacy in to have it washed and waxed since the last waxing was a year ago. I asked if they had the time to do a hand wax? The person writing up the orders said no problem, he could even put two people on it - the cost was $90. I must say, they did a much more thorough washing of the car than usual. After going through the machine I drove to the vacuum/drying/windows station. After 10 minutes, one of the workers waved their hand indicating the car was "ready". I said, but it hasn't been hand waxed. After a conversation in Spanish, the person who wrote up the order drove the car to the waxing station - the time was exactly 1:50 PM. At 2:00 PM the ONE person (not TWO as promised) waved their hand indicating the car was "ready". A hand wax in only 10 minutes??? That's a new record - it's always taken 45 minutes to an hour at any car wash I've used. Further, I watched as half of the 10 minutes was spend inside the car. I never saw any sign of wax-on, wax-off. I complained about not getting the hand wax I paid for and was told by the person who wrote up the order that he put three guys on it to get it done quickly. That is a total lie - I only saw ONE person at the waxing station. I was ripped off for a $90 hand wax and not a bit of hand waxing was done. The car finish is still rough with no wax. Minor marks are still there - they were not rubbed out by a wax-on, wax-off hand waxing like they should have been. There is even still dirt around the inside of the doors. DON'T YOU GET RIPPED OFF PAYING FOR A SERVICE YOU DO NOT RECEIVE. AVOID TAN'S TOUCHLESS CAR WASH! I WILL NEVER RETURN! ADDENDUM After posting the above review I decided to print it out and bring it to the manager of Tan's Car Wash. The manager was definitely not pleased with the review and excitedly implored me to come to him for any problems instead of posting a negative review. Turns out he saw me drive in earlier that day and noticed that my car was very dirty. He told the two guys to give my car a thorough washings which they most certainly did. He saw me complaining about the hand wax but didn't come out and take charge. Bottom line is I think chronicling the event in writing and presenting it to the manager was helpful - he was pretty upset so I think some changes will occur. When he asked what I wanted him to do, I requested a refund for the difference between a Tan's Special Car Wash and a Hand Wax. He refunded $54. So now I have a very good car wash for the normal price, just no waxing. If it seems I'm making a big deal about waxing the car, there is a reason. I used to wash and wax my car (remember Turtle Wax?). Being a septuagenarian, now my hands have some arthritis which makes it unpleasant to painful to hand wax a car.
