Tankless Tech installed the tankless unit in the house we purchased. When we moved in we noticed the hot water wasn't working properly so we called them. After two months of having to chase them down for unresolved issues and parts they claim they ordered, we are still here with a broken unit. Their answer to our hot water problems was "it's a plumbing issue and we don't do plumbing" and a user issue, "download the manual and read it". We finally gave up on them and called another company. Our new plumbing company has been working directly with the manufacturer on our tankless unit and complex hot water issues. The manufacturer was shocked at the usage of the unit, from the previous owners, and both parties agree the unit is malfunctioning. They are now working together to solve our complex hot water issues. We have received more parts and problem solving solutions for our Rennai unit, including a crash course in tankless technology in two weeks, than we received from Tankless Tech in two months. My husband and I want to warn others out there, to save them the horrendous experience of dealing with these people, who claim to be experts of tankless systems. They are clearly not experts in this field, and for us were incompetent in problem solving our broken Rennai unit and hot water issues. UPDATE: Within two and a half weeks, our other plumbing company (Mendel plumbing) was able to troubleshoot our issues with Rinnai, and fully resolve our hot water issues. We finally have consistent hot water throughout the entire house and our unit is working properly. DO NOT call Tankless Tech for your tankless hot water issues. read more

You never appreciate what you have, until you don't have it! HOT WATER for instance!! I have worked with plumbers in the past who admit they can install, but do not service. I could not be happier to have found a dependable and knowledgable professional tankless water heater service company. Ron came out ASAP, and discovered the problem with my 11yr old unit causing error codes. After contacting the manufacturer for me, he was able to have the company authorize a full replacement under warranty. Ron was able to quickly remove old unit and replaced with an upgraded new unit on the same day! I paid less to have the old unit removed and replaced than I originally paid a licensed plumber to install many years ago! It has been a pleasure doing business with Tankless Technology. Ron has a great attitude, friendly and really knows Tankless Water Heaters!! He is my go-to guy for any future tankless issues. It has been 2 weeks and new unit runs like a champ! Highly recommend! Ron did a great job servicing our Rinnai tankless water heater. He performed a descaling service and replaced two old, worn electrodes. He was professional and knowledgable. Can't say enough good things about our experience with Tankless Technology. Our 20 year old water heater died in the middle of February coinciding with the latest peak Covid outbreak in Chicago. Tankless came out to give an estimate within 24 hours and installed our replacement unit within 48 hours. The guys worked until 1130 PM and got the installation done in a single day. We live in an awkward townhome and running the plumbing for the upgrade from tank to tankless was a difficult installation. We've had many other service people do work for us that are strictly 9 to 5 and would certainly have come back to finish the job the next day. This is the beauty of working with outstanding small companies...they treat you like a person, realize how much it sucks to be without hot water during winter in Chicago and get the job done. I have a tankless water heater and after a handful of years of flawless operation, one random day the water pressure in my house dropped to a trickle without warning. It's nearly impossible to find a plumber who isn't scared of tankless heaters. If you mention tankless, most of them will try to find their way out of taking that service call. So, I was so happy when I found a company that put tankless right in their name! I called, the number listed appears to be Rich's cell phone, and the call was answered promptly. I told Rich I had no water in the house so he very kindly shuffled his schedule to come out the same day. After the initial visit, which was on a Friday, Rich promised to return on Monday to fix the issue - which turned out to be a combination of some preventive maintenance on the water heater and some plumbing work. Rich returned on Monday as promised and after a few hours, my problem was fixed. I recommend this company highly if you're in the market for a tankless heater or need repair or maintenance on one. They know their way around tankless heaters and related technology. I can't overstate how hard it is to find someone who knows what they are talking about in this area. So why 3 stars? Well, it cost me an arm and a leg. Rich had quoted me an hourly rate and an estimated number of hours - He was spot on for the number of hours it took....but he brought a helper with him who was his plumber. I was charged a separate rate for the plumber and for RIch's time. I was not expecting this. The guys also worked at a very leisurely pace. Additionally, they tried to sell me water softener and filtering products. I did not appreciate any of this. I expected to be billed one hourly rate, not a separate one for each person who was there. I was charged for the initial service call, during which nearly no work was done other than some troubleshooting - this service call amount was not applied as credit towards the final bill. I also did not want to buy a filter or a softener - just wanted my problem fixed. Finally, the work could have been done in less time but they did not seem to be in a hurry. This resulted in a final bill that, I felt, was inflated by 100% over what I'd consider fair for the amount of work done. read more

I bought a rheem tankless water heater from tankless technology in sept 2015 mike kroll installed it mike talked me into an extended labor warranty from tankless to cover after rheem 1 yr warranty i bought the warranty for 2 more years in jan 2017 the water heater leaked i called tankless and ron the owner came and took pictures he said it needed to be replaced and sent pictures to rheem who approved it after 20+ phone calls to ron he finally answered i asked when he would replace the water heater as we had no hot water he stated he was busy and could not find a water heater locally i contacted another local shop who sourced one locally and installed it on thursday i had to pay them 450.00 for their work i have contacted my lawyer to sue tankless for not honoring the warranty and costing me time and more money no to mention COLD SHOWERS FOR 3 DAYS THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE CALLED THANKLESS TECHNOLOGY read more

We purchased a brand new water tank in March and after installation we discovered it was not working properly. It was under warrantee so we contacted the manufacturer and they directed us to Tankless Technology, the only company they were contracted with in our area to do the work. Over several weeks and after multiple messages left(they don't pick up they're phone), we finally spoke with someone at the office--they seemed to pick up by accident. A few weeks later and after many broken promises to come out to our house, Mike K. finally came and changed the gas valve. However the problem still persisted and Mike K. from would not return phone calls for several weeks. He did eventually come back and told us it was the dip tube, he claimed he'd order it and send it next day. A promise he'd made and broke before. Again, the part never came and Mike never called us back. The office will not return our phone calls as well. Terrible service, totally unprofessional. Never deal with this company, I don't know how they're even in business. read more
