Visited for the first time today and never in my life have I ever sat on a chair and have my stylist not speak to me the whole hour. My roommate said she experienced the same thing months ago, as if it were the silent treatment, and didn't return. It wasn't a terrible experience to not have my stylist talk to me at all, but definitely didn't feel welcoming as a first time customer to want to come back. Very disappointed that I scheduled a blowout for an important event and the stylist never showed up. Come to find out she is the owner. I am a very flexible person and I understand things happen, but she never even reached out to make it right. I do want to mention that I give 5 STARS to Debra who works there as well. She has done my hair and makeup for years. She ended up letting me come to her house at 930 am so she could curl my hair as I got blown off by the owner. I didn't schedule with her as she wasn't working today and she still accommodated me. She's amazing. read more

I have always struggled to find someone that can cut and style my hair without butchering it. I have gone to barbers and salons all over SD and have rarely been satisfied with my cut. Anyway, I am getting married in October so as you can imagine I was freaking out about who I can trust to cut my hair for the big event. I've been hesitant to write a review since my appointment a week ago - but after finally washing and styling my hair after getting it cut at Tanglez last week, I had to say something. I went in for a trim, and left with at least 4-5 inches off, and the most insane set of layers I've ever seen - which I did not ask for. I have been working to grow my hair out for a while now, and had long layers already -- and simply just wanted a dusting of my ends. She never asked if how much she was cutting was okay, turned me away from the mirror, and never once clarified the direction she was taking my hair in. I'm now left with some layers as short as my chin, with one side completely more layered and shorter. My stylist didn't say much to me at all, but the rest of the staff seemed friendly. I don't have an issue with the stylist, aside from the fact she left me with a hacked haircut. Oh and I have bangs now too - not purposeful bangs but not curtain bangs either, just the awkward in between. read more
