Went in for looking for something new to make me feel great and Lacey went over the top to make me feel so beautiful and satisfied with my new look! The experience was great for my first time at a salon. It was so easy and comfortable for me. I absolutely love my new look, Thank you Tangle Free!

Special needs families--- this is your salon. Lacey and her mom are the best. They are very accommodating to everyone. There is a quiet area if your kid needs a break. They are very patient. They make the whole experience very pleasant. By appointment only and it's good because they only take one client at a time.

First haircut for our toddler. He was very comfortable playing with the toys and wearing a fireman smock. Very nice set up for a younger child and no pressure. Definitely appreciate the 1 on 1 time to get the hair cut. We will be back for our trim.

Our son was diagnosed with autism when he was almost 4.. but haircuts were always a big problem. He couldn't communicate very well with his words, so we didn't realize the noise of the clippers was the most terrifying for him.. along with the falling hair and itchiness. It used to take two of us to take him for a haircut & it was always a stressful experience. Through the crying & screaming, we would just hold him down while the stylist just did her best. Then we met Lacey. Lacey has kiddos with special needs.. so she completely understands how to relate to Marcus. She takes her time with the haircut, first getting him acclimated to the salon.. and then explaining what's going to happen with the haircut. She allows Marcus to touch the clippers first & to listen to how they sound. She then explains that it won't hurt and it's only a tickle. Marcus finally responded to this tactic & while he doesn't beg us to go get a haircut now.. he no longer fights us. It's been a GODSEND. Even if you don't have a special needs child, Lacey can help make haircuts less scary for your young child just with her patience and willingness to communicate. We gladly drive the 20 minutes to Fair Oaks every few weeks for the great haircut and relaxing experience Tangle Free offers. There's also really fun toys! Thank you Lacey!!!!

"After" The hair cut process was so calm and natural. We can come as we are and not have to worry.

At other places... We went from hold him down, a lot of struggle, and coaxing with Cocomelon or Moana video clips... but now... But with the ladies at Tangle Free... The hair cut process was so calm and natural. We can come as we are and not have to worry. Natural light, no music, and great sensory toys!

Lastly, Lacey and her mom provide the best experience no matter how you or your child feels during the cut.

Icon Salon - Second session partial highlights and balayage done by Marcie @marcie_makingthecut

Today I had my second session of partial highlights and balayage with Marcie @marcie_makingthecut…read moreand I am AMAZED with the results. A little hair background: I have fine, black Asian hair and my end goal is to get platinum blond. Prior to my first appointment, I was all about ashy blond hair. However, I had quite a bit of warmth near my roots and my ends were light, so when I kept using purple shampoo, only my ends would get ashier, making my roots appear even warmer due to the contrast. When I showed up to my first session, Marcie listened to what I didn't like about my hair and what I want to eventually achieve. She then gave me different options depending on my budget ($135, $175, $200), which is very considerate. I went with the $200 option and she let me know that since I had a bit of correcting to do (get rid of the brassy roots and even out my previous blond), it would be a little more expensive this time, but now that I have an even canvas to work off of, next session would be cheaper. Fast forward three months later to today, aka my second session. I've been super excited to go back to Marcie for her to work more miracles on my hair as this time, I wanted to go icy white. She told me that since I do naturally have black hair, I may not be able to get there and I understood that and she once again, gave me the option of partial highlights ($165) and full highlights ($200). I went with the partial highlights and she was able to get my ends super super light. Another new thing that I wanted to try was bring the blond up to my roots, but I noticed it looked a little chunky after she dried my hair. We talked about this and she patiently explained that is because my natural hair is a level 1 and transitioning to a level 7 is a very big difference, but she was willing to apply a little bit more toner in my roots just to soften it up a little more and I was super super happy with the results. TLDR, I would most definitely recommend Marcie if you're looking for a friendly, knowledgable hairstylist who takes the time to explain your hair's situation. Also, she has very reasonable pricing and is only booked about ten days ahead. Love her work and patience!
