Tanger and I have turned a corner. Visting family and friends from high school out on the island let me have more chances shop, and both times I came out with new goodies besides expired Goldfish. Holiday sales are the best way to score here. I'm still at a stand-off with the Express, Calvin Klein, Lacoste and Ralph Lauren here for the reasons I mentioned in my previous review. However Tommy Hilfiger, J. Crew, Banana Republic and Gap all had excellent sales to take advantage of. A good rule of thumb, if you don't usually shop the brand, you probably won't find anything you like in their outlet store. read more

Love the outlets for great discounted merchandise. It's great even if you just want to walk around outside, window browsing the storefronts.

I hated this place XD!!The worker with the weird southern accent is so rude and disgusting. Her crusty skin and weird hair. The worker also refused to let me return my items that I bought and refused to let me use the coupons that I bought.The vending machine ripped me off. I put in $5 dollars and they gave me nothing. I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to get there. Also the service there was inadequate, my friend was talking and the old lady could not hear her. Don't ever come back to this trashy place. They deserve nothing, they deserve a chapter 7 bankruptcy. I'm am outraged by this mess of what you call an outlet. read more

I love this place, even the parking situation isn't that bad especially if you don't mind walking, or the fact that it is separated into two different circles of outlet stores. A. The outlets in Deer Park are more like an outdoor mall and barely have any sales, seriously wtf but they do have the leather outlet which is nice but the coats never fit me right. Riverhead is SO MUCH BETTER FOR DEALS. And they have a Michael Kors - love him. B. Riverhead is far for most - I get that but the deals I make more than pay for the gas I use to get there - especially if I have coupons. Love that! C. The food court - woah, not just a McDonalds but there are actually some healthy options and they have charging ports if you have your phone cable with you so you could literally spend the entire day shopping worry free D. They have ALL of the stores that I shop at in the regular mall, and I understand that most of the items in the store are the past seasons style (for example Express) but who cares! Most of the time the style doesn't change dramatically, and if I pay full price in that season I wear it in the next season anyway. So there. Lol read more

The manager, Lindsay was absolutely rude and degrading towards the customers. She has no knowledge about the pricing of the items in the store. As a manager, she was not helpful at all and rather acted as if she didn't want any customers in the store. She blamed my parents for switching the prices on the clearance items and verbatim called them "shady people". Since no one walks around with a price gun in their back pocket, this accusation was absolutely uncalled for and depicted her poor judgement and her disorganized thinking. She then removed her name tag and did not tell my parents what her name was and laughed at them when they mentioned making a complaint. I have never had an employee, a manager never the less treat their customers this way. There are certain skills you need to have to work in retail and she sure does not possess them. Service is terrible. I went in to print something and the man at the printing area was stuffing his face with coffee and a sandwich while I was speaking to him. He was rude when answering my questions and kept making sarcastic remarks. While he was half helping me, he took a call from another customer and basically said he had no clue on how to help her because he only knows things about macs and did t even recommend any further assistance or offer and alternatives . Really? Useless. I will absolutely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

my favorite outlet to shop at. the food here is no bueno but i enjoy getting a coffee here (Starbucks!!) when i'm halfway through shopping to give me a boost. I love coming here in the summer to prepare for fall/winter clothes. a lot of stores are 40-50% off, and some stores give out veteren/student discounts. there is also a way to join their member's club, which involves paying for the membership and receiving tons of coupons. i've heard it's worth it but haven't tried it out yet. some of my favorite stores here include Nike, Calvin Klein, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Polo Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, and of course, Starbucks. For a real meal, be prepared to leave the mall - the mall food is below par but there are some great restaurants in the area. read more

I love Tanger! In fact, I love it better than Woodbury Commons. Why you ask?? I'm not impressed by Woodbury's size and selection of overpriced designer stores. Nor am I impressed with all the tourists that flock there and the fact that I rarely find a good deal much less anything worth buying. What I want are deals when I go to an outlet. That is exactly what I find at Tanger. Great selection and Great Prices. I never leave empty handed. read more

A lot of stores and a lot of people. Parking can be a little crazy on weekends but you will likely run into deals that will make you happy. You do have to do a bit of walking to get to all the stores so you should consider comfortable shoes! read more

I love the fact that they had a very organize way into getting people in the parking lot especially since the parking lot was full. Other than that I've been here before and I can honestly say I never have no issues with parking unless you're going on Black Friday. Everything is great and easy to go to they have maps everywhere in the store which makes it easyto locate where you want to go. read more

We came here on Labor Day weekend, which would normally be a big mistake because of the crowds but we figured to take a chance. Just getting into the parking lot took well over 20 minutes but we finally pulled into Tanger 1 and drove around for a bit before finding a spot rather quickly. Right by the giant America Flag, in the corner. Since this is an outdoor mall, the corners have their own pathways to the lots so we were able to get started with very little walking from the car. This place is separated into 2 sections and it takes a good 10 hours to see it all if you take your time. We got there at 1:30pm and finished by 7:30 because we knew exactly where we wanted to go and only browsed a few other shops. They have a few good places like Tommy, Armani, DKNY, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, Brooks Brothers, Nike, Reebok, etc... The prices on a normal day are pretty good but they were even better this weekend due to the Holiday sales. A little out of the way for me, about 1.5-2 hours from my house but worth it on holiday sale days. The food court wasn't all that special and it was packed with people so your probably better off eating before you go or at least grabbing something you can eat while you walk around. read more

I love tanger outlets so much. Both Long Island centers are great but riverhead is my favorite. It's worth the drive to go out there. And I belong to the shoppers club so I paid $10 one time and I get a coupon booklet every day I go there. read more

Tanger Mall in Riverhead NY has all the stores I shop at one convenient location. The stores are not overwhelming in size, but still have great selection choices and the prices are considerably cheaper than freestanding stores. There's plenty of parking and they even have charging stations if you have an electric car No searching for a parking space and you don't have to lug all your packages, as you can just put them in your car and continue your shopping. There's a food court for when you want a snack or a full lunch. I even recommend that you buy the coupon book, and for a one time (reasonable) price you can always get one free every time you shop for years to come read more

Very displeased by the service here. First I went to Forever 21, and when purchasing four items at the counter, noticed a evident stain on a shirt I was planning on buying. I knew I could get it out with some effort, but it seemed stupid to buy an already stained shirt at the original cost. I asked the woman who was checking me out for a possible reduction on the price who became very rude and short with me, telling me that it was "just how the shirt was made," while that was obviously not the case. She was extremely impatient while I looked for a dime to pay, and kept telling me to just give her the dollar as I had one in my wallet, but that seemed silly knowing that the total had ten in change and I had a dime in my change purse. Never will shop there again. Also was displeased with the Under Armor store who, in short, was just very unwelcoming. No smiles or greeting, or "how may I help you?" All just had straight faces and monotone voices. Very discouraging to buy from an environment like that, and also kinda took me out of the gift giving season which was a shame. These two stores really just put in a bad vibe for the rest of the outlets, as I'm sure some of the stores are wonderful, it just seemed unlikely to me. Strongly don't recommend either store I mentioned. read more

Dear Tanger, please reconsider Titan to direct traffic. They actually make it worse. Put in traffic lights or something. It's a disaster.

My brother was falsely accused of shoplifting from Aldo by the employees. After having made a small purchase of two earrings and leaving, one of the employees was stalking my family and I through the entire outlet and taking unsolicited pictures of our car and license plate. She didn't confront us. My brother saw her following us and asked her what she was doing, to which she accused him of shoplifting a pair of slippers and said they have video footage of him and the police are on their way. Hearing this, my family and I went back to Aldo to sort out this misunderstanding. The officers that were called were unauthorized to watch any footage and Tangers security was present but stayed quiet the whole time. This is a highly disrespectful situation that I have never before encountered. I've been shopping at Tangers and Aldo for a long time, but if these employees are not held accountable, I will discontinue my shopping experience here and inform other shoppers of the gross misconduct and false accusations presented to my family today. read more

Tanger Outlet is a really fun place to shop! Many great stores that have great prices. Some of the stores have items that are especially made for the outlet stores. Mostly the things are discounted and there is a book that has coupons that can be bought for $5 or join for life and you can get a card that when presented, will give you the discounts for that store. A good deal to say the least! Drive around the perimeter of all three sections to see what is there and then," Shop Til You Drop"!! Weekdays are best if possible. I imaging very crowded for holiday shopping. I have done mine before! Food Courts and clean bathrooms, at least when I have been there. Enjoy! read more

I love this outlet! I don't like Woodbury since its a waste of gas and tolls. This place has a great selection and great cheap prices. This place doesn't get too packed so no long lines It usually a takes me 40 mins if your doing 90+mph on the hov lanes from queens. Deer park outlet is also a waste of time. read more

The stores do not compare with let's say Woodbury Commons at exit 16 of the NYS Thruway There one can find stores like Northface and Montcler which are high quality clothing items found in some of your best department stores and in stores bearing their own name Was not that impressed with the choice of stores at this location read more

I love going at least twice a year but you really have to go when there are additional sales otherwise you pay same price all year round

Service was fine, I'm greeted with a smile every time I go. Someone's always there to help me find what I'm looking for or if it's out of stock, they go out of there way to order it for me. Only rude people I've ever run into there was other customers, then again it's Riverhead so I guess that makes sense and is to be expected.... read more

Great collection of many stores to shop.Two major sections. I like Tanger I the best, Worth a trip.

I have to say there was a male associate who assisted me in the fitting room and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the customer service did not carry out through to check-out. Firstly, the male associate who helped me in the fitting room was on break when I was at check-out and there was a price discrepancy that was not confirmed. I asked the female cashier (2159482) to take the item off my receipt but later asked her to add the item to my purchase. When she added the item again, she said it's now coming up with the price the male associate originally told me. She inadvertently transposed 2 numbers. The manager who happened to be standing 2 registers over was preoccupied with other tasks and backed up the cashier, without taking the time to confirm and provide better customer service. They should have confirmed with the male associate at bare minimum! The second issue was that there was a stain on one of the shirts so the cashier offered a 10% non-returnable damage discount, which I thought was nice at the time. The problem was that I was receiving a 15% volume discount for purchases over $100 and the damage discount of 10% replaced the 15%, not in addition to. Logically, why would a customer agree to getting 10% over 15%??? The cashier should have been more attentive! I would have completed the customer survey so management is aware of the sub-par customer service of cashiers and the store manager but unfortunately missed the 5 day mark. My advice to shoppers is to be wary of what you are charged because mistakes happen, especially at this location. I do have to add that the male associate who was working the afternoon shift 4/23 was exceptional! If it wasn't for him, I would rate a 0 if that was an option! read more

Depending on what store you go to the prices arent much better than a regular ol mall store. BUT...its worth all the extra stars for the after x-mas sales. This outlet is closer to where I live and takes less driving time. I don't like how this outlet has two parts and in order to reach the other part you will have to drive out of the parking lot into the second parking lot. Other wise you can walk to the second part of the outlet but then you will have to walk back while carrying all the stuff you purchased. I do love the sales and many store options they have. Though when I went there recently there were a few empty stores. Food court is small and very limited. I have nothing postive to say. I only give it three stars because of the sales and clothing stores that I love to shop at. Otherwise I would go to the other Tanger outlet that's further. read more

I just love this place, and if you wait for the right time,there will be more mark downs on the stuff you want. Since it is closer to me then the one in Deer Park I tend to go to this outlet more. I just love how it got two parts,More to Shop! I just like going here for X'mas gifts, since I know my dad is so into that Timberland thing. Thats where I always get him gifts, Less hassle for me. I know my god sister loves it when I toke here to the Victoria Secret store here. I mean I love it too I got silk shorts for $2.99 ea now thats a deal. read more

Quite happy with the selection of stores and I think I have always left with some nice discounted purchases from here. The only issue is that it's out in Riverhead which means it's a hike, which I don't necessarily mind as long as I have access to a car to drive from the city, but also if you want to return anything it's another hike back out. ive been to this mall several times before this review and had better experiences. this one, ee not so great. i circulated the whole mall and got 2 things, my gf got like 5. the prices are great but you have to make sure you reaaaaly want what you get if you are not from the area, like myself--coming from brooklyn, if i decided i didnt like the sweater i got, its not that easy going back just like that... without traffic coming back was also a breeeze at 10pm like 1hr we were back in the city... bottom line, if woodbury commons wasnt so damn confusing with its strucutre, i wouldnt rethink tanger, otherwise, im probly going back at some point. read more

This place calls itself an outlet mall, but I frankly don't see any bargains. To borrow a phrase from another reviewer, it indeed is an architectural nightmare. Although you can walk the entire tanger one section to hit all of those stores, you will have to get in your car an drive to tanger two and do a whole bunch of walking there too. I don't think the place is optimally laid out. The discount book for $5.00 is no great bargain either. (If you're a member of AAA or AARP you'll get it for free) . Check this out: at the pottery barn outlet I presented my coupon (cashier was Colleen, I think?) and she simply told me that my coupon for $20.00 off after spending $150.00 is no good because "everything is more or less on sale in here, and the coupon is only good for full priced items...." WTF? Food court stinks on ice. Bring a bag lunch. You're much better off at Woodbury commons or your local mall read more

This factory outlet isn't as good as the Woodbury Common but it's still worth visiting! Lots of good deals here! Great selection of stores! This place can be pretty crowded on the weekend. Parking can be pretty tough to find. read more

The only reason why we drive 2.5 hours here is because they have a Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, and Williams Sonoma Outlet. Other than that - it's just like any other outlet center. Good shopping at a cheap price tag! read more

The closest "mall" on the east end is about 40 miles away so Tanger Outlets is a much needed shopping center. Good variety of stores and the merchandise ranges from great discounts to basic 25% off sales. It makes sense to go a little early and get the customer loyalty card/booklet for about $5 (located in Tanger 2 at the customer service desk). This gives you an extra 15% -30% or more off your purchases. Additionally, I would try to go really early or mid-week to avoid the crowds. read more

My only complaint is after a drive of over an hour I could not get in the parking lot. Evidently they will not let you in the parking lot early anymore. This is to force the employees to use the back parking lots which is both inconvenient & dangerous for them & unfair to costumers who drive a long way to get there only to have to search for a parking space until the lots open. In my past visits I would arrive about half hour before the stores open & plan my day. Yesterday was a very stressful start. Other than that the stores were fabulous. Good place if you are in need of furniture, but the other stores were not all that thrilling. All the basics were at this outlet, but the selection once you were in the store were not spectacular. Plus they designed the mall around the parking lot. That made for really really long walks to get to the stores. On a hot day, it was quite taxing to walk that much outside. The good news is that they had soda vending machines throughout the mall which you can purchase drinks using credit cards. It made it really easy to buy something cold when you were about to pass out. Perhaps that was the grand plan of the mall designers. It is certainly worthwhile if you have the time and would like to do some shopping while visiting the Hamptons, (woodbury is just too far away) but I found better deals shopping in good old Manhattan. I visit Tangers every time I visit my family in Long Island. The selection of stores is awesome and I purchased the Tangers card so I get great coupons. You need to know what your buying and reg prices to be an educated consumer for the best deals. I enjoy the transportation to get between the shopping areas. Living out east this is the closest thing to a mall that we have. Smith Haven Mall is just too far of a ride. But this is one of the best outlets around. It does get packed on the weekends from people coming in from the city. So if you can come during the week. read more
