The young lady storekeeper has been well trained in the business of the store, but lacks customer relations skills. I paid a premium price for a job (with an additional debit card fee!) and the job was not done as requested. I received no apology for the mistake, no compensation for inconvenience, and a poor attitude towards me as if I had made the mistake! Not even an offer for a fix. I refused to leave with the botched job. They finally (reluctantly) agreed to an accommodation. Had I known this would be the case upon pickup, I would not have spent so much additional money shopping for goods in their store. I would not recommend them.

Besides my truck, City Upholstery reupholstered the chairs to our dining table with quality leather hides and made a beautiful denim slip cover for our large family room sofa. Their latest success story was repairing and refinishing an antique desk that had parts missing and roughly used. An example of this is attached. We always used City aupholyery because of the quality of their work, the reasonable prices and Mr Water's character. He is honest and always lives up to his promises.

I felt like I stepped into a 1950's time capsule where segregation was still legal, and we were part of the free slaves that the white folks didn't like because we were black & free...on a lighter note, Liz was the only employee that asked us if we need help, so grateful for people that still have good customer service and compassion. On Friday, March 1, 2024, I had taken my cowboy boots here for repair. I asked the owner if could…read morealter the calf area of my boots and make them smaller. He told me he could and proceeded to take the measurements of my calf area. He said it would be $35 for this service, in which he gave me the option to pay after the work was completed or I could pay in full and pick them up the next day, Saturday (one-day service). On Saturday, I call the shop on 6 different occasions with no answer, just a recording with a full mailbox. I called again on Monday, March 4 with no answer again. After no answered calls and my boots still at the shop, I decided to go in person and the owner was not there. One of the other employees there tried to find my boots and they were nowhere to be found. I came back to the store for a third time, now Tuesday, March 5, and finally saw the owner. He brought out my boots and the alterations were not done. I was very frustrated that days had gone by, and the service was still incomplete. He wanted me to come back another day to pick up my boots, but I refused to make an additional trip there when this was supposed to be a one-day service. That was the entire point of paying up front. My boots had white stitching down the back of my black boots. I was so DISGUSTED. My boots look like he put some masking tape down the back of my boots and put black polish over it. He knew how dissatisfied I was but REFUSED to give me my money back in full. He only offered to give me $15 of the $35 I had paid. I had a friend come along with me who also experienced their rude behaviors. At no point was accountability taken by the owner or employee. I will never return here or refer someone to this place. I received horrible service and am now stuck with a pair of defective-looking cowboy boots.
