This quilt shop is absolutely amazing for quilters of all kinds, they have stuff for embroidery, cross-stitching, regular quilting, as well as other notions like pincushions, tote bags, patterns (with lots of different ones), fridge magnets, and the list goes on! Their value is high for what they have, they only order the best bolts of fabric, with a very large selection of fat quarters, panels and some grab bags of squares called I Spy Charm Pack. The service is always amazing, the Sniders and co are always cheerful and willing to help with whatever you need. All in all, it's a very very good quilt shop with great and welcoming staff! I love to visit new fabric shops when we travel and this was a super sweet find in the Heights area of Houston. The selection was lovely, and the staff was super sweet. I found some amazing prints and bought some yardage for fututre projects. Oh where oh where to begin?!?! Tea Time is a cute and quaint quilt shop in the heart of The Heights and is a gem amongst the masses. From its beautifully curated selection of fabrics and notions, to the staff themselves - I loved visiting here during my All Texas Shop Hop adventure! There were FQs in abundance (that means fat quarters for the non quilter or sewist), a plethora of old and new Villa Rosa patterns, trinkets and quilt-related gifts too! The prices are reasonable - in line with what's expected, and everyone was well-versed & polite. Not to mention - they were very engaging to my children and welcoming! I don't shop this lovely store often because I don't quilt as much as I used to. But every time I go in the staff is so helpful. They have a good selection of fabrics and occasionally the pattern that I need for a given project. They are also kind to let you Look around for inspiration if needed. read more

Let me preface this by saying, I am not a quilter. I like to think I'm a crafty person, but I really don't do that many projects. Just don't have the time. However, every once in a while I embark on a mediocre " it's not pretty, but it'll hold" kind of project, and in those instances I usually just want to get whatever I need ASAP and at a good price. Found this little gem when I was doing a search for something near home and loved that it saved me from having to embark on at least a 30- 45 minute drive through rush-hour traffic. The store is small and cozy, and the employees are super friendly and helpful. They had the little snaps I needed, and the price wasn't super marked up (which you often see at smaller privately owned businesses). I will definitely try to bring them my business again in the future should the occasion arise. read more

I came here because JoAnn's was too friggen far away and ended up pleasantly surprised. The owner assisted me as I looked through her three rooms of hidden fabric and was very happy to listen to my silly chatter. It is definitely a quilting store so fabric options are primarily limited to cotton, but the fabrics were a nice quality. It was a bit pricy- not high fashion pricey, but higher than JoAnn's. I'm a newbie to the quilting world. I called earlier in the week and they were so helpful. I spent almost 2 hrs there, owner gave me a LOT of her time, helping me select fabrics for a class I signed up for as well as some suggestions on items I can use to practice. She explained a lot of terms, walked through some patterns with me, showed examples of techniques used in some of the quilts on display, explained how to choose background and backings. They said they don't offer classes...based on my time there, I disagree!! She didn't show a bit of frustration with someone who doesn't have a clue!! An absolute treasure!! The owner, her daughter, and staff were so helpful!! I hadn't quilted in a long time and had lots of questions getting back in the swing of things. All the staff that I have encountered on my visits to this shop have been extremely nice and helpful. Tea Time Quilting has a huge selection of fabrics!! On my first visit I picked a pattern and some fabric. One of the owners Jalena helped me through the whole process and even gave me some tips on cutting my fabric and constructing my quilt top. Small space but has many quilting fabrics for sale. This is not a place to sit and quilt or walk and browse. Prices are average. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. The shop is associated with a floral shop which means that on holidays the staff's attention is divided. The situation did not bother me but its good for people to know. This quilt show is worth a visit in the Houston area. It is off the beaten path so you have to want to go there, but it has a nice selection of fabric and patterns that makes it worth it. Located in an old home, they have worked hard to utilize all the space. There are some wonderful quilt kits and very reasonable prices available here, with great patterns and displays. read more
