Restaurant was empty at 4PM on a Thursday and I had to ring the bell on the counter to get service. I pre-ordered and was emailed a confirmation. I like that I can specify the spice level. Online menu is easy to use and has good food descriptions. The restaurant called and asked if I forgot to order rice or naan, but I confirmed I only wanted the 2 Dal dishes. Order was quoted as 15-20minutes. When I arrived, my order was bagged and ready to go and they threw in a free order or naan bread! Very generous. Dal Makhani $13, Dal Tadka $13. Both were really tasty but my preferences would be Dal Tadka. It was thicker and had a really great flavor. Naan was very soft and amazing with the Dals. Overall very happy with the price, portion, taste, and service!

I saw 700 very positive reviews on Google, and 4 reviews of 5 stars here on Yelp. Clearly I'm the unpopular opinion. I don't think this place appealed to my taste buds, and I eat a LOT of Indian food.... And frequently. I don't think I like the spices they use. Everything tasted very uniform, even though we got a variety of items. The dal makhani was very different than the same dish at some of our other favourites. It was more tomato-y and tangy as opposed to rich and creamy. Wasn't a fan. The mutter paneer was probably my least favourite. It was bland, and the paneer was mushy. There was not a lot of paneer in the dish. The kadai chicken, also another dish we get elsewhere, was spiced in a way that didn't appeal to me- and there was not a lot of meat. The only way I can describe the flavours I was picking up is "burnt"? I can't quite put my finger on it. The naan was also dryer than other naan. Veggie pakora was pretty good. My husband said "you're not going back for seconds? You didn't like it that much?" - I feel like that says something. I guess he gets several days of leftovers hahaha. He seems to have liked it.

The food was great although some of the dishes were less familiar to many in the crowd. To me that's a plus but to them, it made for more adventurous eating than they expected. Everyone was happy in the end. If you are looking for an Indian buffet in the area, you found a good one here. I hope this place does well.

It wasn't busy around lunchtime, so we were immediately seated. The atmosphere is pleasant inside and they have high chairs available. If your wondering, the washroom is a little tight inside, but also child friendly. You have the option of ordering on menu or opting for buffet. Originally I was planning to order a couple dishes from the menu cuz my kids spice tolerance is zero even though they occasionally eat Indian food. However, the waitress did the math and said it was actually cheaper for us to do buffet. I'm glad she suggested that because it gave us the chance to try a bunch of dishes we never thought to try and also stick to the classics like butter chicken. My youngest ate like a bird, so the waitress was kind enough to not charge for her head which I appreciated. I found service to be attentive and friendly, plus the food is pretty affordable, so I'm glad we tried this place out!

Food was a basic Indian repetoire with a few interesting additional items, but what makes it a difference is how well the items are spiced. You can tell that the spices are fresh and the flavours are vibrant. We ordered a few dishes to share - Vegetable samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala -marinated chicken breast cooked in thick creamy condensed sauce, Chettinad -coconut-base curry with a hint of mustard seeds and curry leaves, Kadhai Paneer -homemade cottage cheese cooked in thick curry sautéed with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes, Vegetable Biryani yellow basmati rice simmered with mixed vegetables, saffron, spices and a hint of fresh mint leaves and of course garlic naan bread. Everything was excellent loved the spice menu for medium there. The only thing that I didn't think was exceptional was the veggie samosas, they were small and their dough wasn't fantastic. Service was good but scattered. They could use a reno inside to make it warm and inviting. If you are in the area and if you can find the place, please check it out.

The space itself is small but they have plenty of seating and can serve larger groups if needed. Most of us ordered the lunch combo which is normally a single rotating curry option but they made an exception and let us order whatever item we wanted from the main course. It was a great opportunity to sample whichever item we wanted. It took awhile for the food to arrive but I think that was more about us being a big group than a service issue. The smaller tables were in and out much faster so you shouldn't have a problem getting back to work after lunch if there's only 2-3 of you. I had the shahi malai kofta which is served with a side of rice in the combo. It was rich, creamy and delicious. Exactly what I was craving. All of my coworkers were also really happy with their meals. I am very happy to have this great option available for lunch downtown and I'm looking forward to my next visit.
