James Beard needs to visit this restaurant! What an amazingly sophisticated international fusion menu. The restaurant name is slightly misleading and should not be mistaken for Asian or Indian. The cuisine is creative and nontraditional. This restaurant does take reservations and we were there on a Thursday night and the place was pretty busy for a relatively new business. I suspect that reservations will become highly recommended as word gets out. The restaurant is casual, but decorated in such a way that makes it cozy. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated. There was absolutely no problem with a corkage as we had brought our own line which turned out to be off so we ended up getting a really nice Rioja that didn't break the bank. Wonderful international selection of wines to please any pallet. Plenty of local beers and NA options as well. The menu has a nice selection of appetizer, small plates and entrées. Our server was super enthusiastic and suggested we ordered a few of each and just share. We followed her guidance and have to say that we all agreed that the mushroom curry was off the charts the best curry we had ever tasted. The naan bake in a tandoori oven was truly addictive and for three that were trying to avoid carbs we ended up getting an extra order to dip in all the wonderful sauces! We loved the fact that everything had really good seasoning and a nice level of spice. I am not a big swordfish fan however, the swordfish Tataki was absolutely phenomenal, the bison served with morales was another home run as was the chicken tandoori. The dessert was as good as the dinner and offered a really great finish to what has to be one of the more memorable meals in a long time. This being our first meal in Rapid City has set the bar very high for all the rest!

Came to town to hike Badlands. Following 12 miles, we had dinner at Tandoor Bocado and split multiple apps + entree. By far the Barramundi was the star of the show - would recommend a special trip specifically for it. Beyond that, the shrimp had an excellent kick and service was great. Not featured - delicious Chianti

Opah entree superb mix of flavors and textures.

I was very impressed with the food and service at Tandoori Bocado. My favorite dish was the Coconut Lardo. Absolutely delish!

They do need to update the online menu. Filet listed online for $40.75 was $55. Date listed $6.75 were $10. Filet Mignon w/veal Demi glaze was awesome, you could cut it with a butter knife. I didn't like the small potato bites. Should have mashed potatoes $55 Bison ravioli was good (not made in house) but the sauce was on the salty side. Medjool dates filled with blue cheese were great $10. $10 is too expensive for these though. Overall a great place for a relaxing dinner. Or just have wine and appetizers.

Apparently, they don't serve actual wedges because it causes too much waste. The owner agreed they need to change the name of the salad. My beet salad was tasty. Now after waiting 50 minutes with only one other couple in the restaurant, our entrees were served. They should have some games to play at the table for the long wait times. We were actually planning to order dessert but ran out of time. My salmon was cooked very well and tasted fresh. My husband's vegetable lasagna was saved by the mushroom gravy otherwise it lacked flavor.

He and his helper were polished, professional, kind, and so much fun! To enter the restaurant, you have to go through the lobby of the Alex Johnson hotel and take the elevator up to the top floor. You emerge from the elevator in a cozy foyer with enormous windows, and the restaurant is through a heavy wooden door to the right. Inside the restaurant, the decor is Art Deco, light and airy with tin ceilings and tall windows. Everything was immaculately maintained. The menu was limited that evening, but we still found everything we wanted (I am vegan, my companions were not) from starters to dessert. The only bad part was that it was our last night in Rapid City and we couldn't take our leftovers, so we just ate as much as we could. The serving sizes were generous without being over the top. We would 100% return to Vertex if we visit Rapid City again.
