For those people giving Dr. poor reviews because they have to sometimes wait long hours, please note that unpredictable situations arise daily and that will determine how the day unfolds. With that said, if you have an appointment for follow-up blood work and a toddler with a cough and high fever comes in.......it is not rocket science, they will likely take precedence. Maybe some of you have never visited an emergency room. Same concept! I too have experienced waiting hours to be seen with an appointment. Instead of getting worked up about, I understand that this is how it is at times and par for the course. All patients, and there are a lot, will get the same great service I get ....and THAT TAKES TIME. Prior to meeting Dr., in my previous 20 years of seeing other doctors, I have never had a Dr. assess me for more than 3-5 minutes and then send me off; I thought that was the norm. I say all of this because we have a high level of respect and praise for Dr. He has taken such excellent care of my husband and I, as if we were family. He and his staff always go above and beyond/go the extra mile to rule out a certain concern or illness and take whatever extra steps necessary for the issue at hand. I have personally experienced, and have also seen with other patients, where the staff work into their lunch hours to ensure all patients are taken care of. We know we are in great hands with Dr. So much so that when our insurance changed last year and tripled in cost, to continue with the same insurance that Dr. accepts, we discussed our options and finances in great length. We opted that is well worth the extra expense to continue receiving priceless, top-notch care (with no regrets). They will tell you they will call you and never do. Resulting in having to go into the office for a 5 minute task that any other doctor's office would do without having to be reminded a hundred times. If you need a referral for a painful condition, good luck to you. They will drag it out for weeks and force you to go into office for them to do their job. They'll tell you they'll call you when the authorization comes through (which takes all of 5 minutes), and then you won't hear from them again. And when you do go in, they send you to a doctor at a location that they're no longer practicing at so you have to start the process with them all over again and wait for weeks again. The doctor is fine but the office staff are the worst and because of that we're now in search of a new doctor's office. Shame because she likes the doctor but the incompetence of the staff is unlike anything we've ever seen.

First the office staff are very professional and accommodating, next the clinic staff who takes your vitals are professional and ensure they use universal precautions to ensure there are no cross contamination from patient to patient. This is a biggie for me when it comes to doctor offices. Last, Dr. Rishi Majithia. This is my fourth appointment seeing him. I was recommended to him by my daughter in law who is a medical professional. I was initially very skeptical because doctors now days care more about money than the care they provide. Dr. Majithia, my first appointment he listened to my complaints and concerns, gave his feed back, made slight recommendations and genuinely seem as if he cared. By my second appointment he actually was able to repeat some of the concerns from the previous appt and made excellent recommendation. This let me know he actually was listening and taking appropriate notes the first appointment. By my third appointment he addressed all my medical concerns, started me on new meds which we both agreed, made legitimate realistic goals for me to follow and seemed as if he really cared about my well being. Again he was able to recite all my previous complaints from the past appointments. ((He really Listens). Today, I had my fourth appt. I can now say I have found a provider who is knowledgeable, competent, up to date with society and current medical trends. Knowledgeable of Diabetes, and is genuinely concerned about his patients. Seems he has a passion for his profession. When he took his Oath to be a doctor to care for patients he did it because he wanted to see a change in people and he care about people's health. If your looking for a doctor who cares about his patient's, current on medical knowledge, doesn't rush you during appointments, listens, there is no need to go further. I have worked and been educated in 7 large institutions across the United States working with professors of all walks of life. I work as a consultant with Dr. Unger and interact with him regularly but in a different sub-specialty. I know him to be one of the most caring and thorough clinicians I have ever met. His history, resume, expertise and personality are outstanding. He has gone out of his way to write to textbooks on the management of diabetes. I have met several people who have done this, none of them have the aptitude and kind personality that Dr. Unger has. When I receive a referral from him, I receive an informed history that is certainly the most thorough and relevant to the particular question we are aimed to ask of any available. I know many primary care physicians, Dr. Unger is the most interested and attentive of any I have met. Every referral comes with a detailed letter. When I receive referrals from other institutions and individuals, it is up to me to seek for further information and this is often done at a great time investment on my part. There have been instances in which I will call him without any foreknowledge, I will mention a patient's name and he will be able to recall, in detail, all recent events, labs, and other features of the patient without any reference to a medical chart. I don't know anyone who can do this. When I interact with others, I am invariably asked to hold momentarily while they search through their charts to receive a mental update. This isn't exactly a sign of poor performance for others, in fact is is reasonable, but the fact that Dr. Unger is able to accurately describe in many unprompted details the situation cannot be understated. I believe it is a reflection of his attention. It is not distracted, he has the appropriate energy in the right place. Needless to say he knows his patients very well, he interacts with them outside his clinic hours regularly, he always knows what I am doing for them as we work together. I have never met a primary care physician so exhaustively involved in a patient's medical care. When other patients come to my clinic expressing concern about their current primary care provider, Dr. Unger the first thought to come to mind. I have been through this experience many times. Inevitably I receive a telephone call from the patient I referred to him with very positive thoughts, the overwhelming majority are highly satisfied.

Every-time I bring my 82 yr old mom in here they are all so nice, greet you with a warm hello and smiles! I know it's hard the job they have and the closer it gets to Friday I'm sure their patience are wearing thin. But not these ladies they still are as nice as Georgia pie and probably don't get the KUDOS they all deserve! I've had no issues with this office in 10 years and everytime I need something done it's done within minutes or the same day that is huge , most offices take at least 3 days to complete something.
