I've been to the famous $50 pedicure chain several times and I prefer Tammy's. I don't want to pay for decor. I want a good, sanitary, attractive pedicure. And I get that here every time. The only place I go now. Highly recommend. read more

Tammy Nail & Spa - Nice nail design. - Nail Salons Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Nail and Waxing is a quick and cheap manicure spot in The Beach. It's pretty no frills in here: extravagances like: large-format porcelain tiles, matching smocks, and fluency in English are not to be found here. There are four spots for manis and four pedicure stations. Everything seemed pretty clean to me and they had a cabinet with custom tools for the regulars. Have been around the block a few times mani-wise (breathes gently against fingernails, polishes them gingerly against breast pocket) I know an A-OK joint when I see one. For $15 you can't really go wrong. They also have some cheap waxing going on. I calculate that if you get everything (and I mean everything) it would cost $114 and that's a la carte. Seems really inexpensive to me. A little too inexpensive. I'll stick to the honey and fire-ants method thank you. Obligatory Title Pun: Their name is too lame to pun. Menu Readability: All their pricing is clearly marked on a black and gold sign that was designed and printed in 1984. Need to mention: I came here because I was killing time waiting for the Pie Shack to open, not because I *needed* a manicure. Whatever, I don't owe you an explanation. What this place teaches me about myself: I'm glad hair removal isn't in my repertoire. read more

Hmm, had mostly positive experiences here. However, there have been times, Tammy was doing my nails( I was a regular) and she would tell me to wait, so she could take walk ins. If it had happened once, ok, but it started to become the norm. My bio gels and pedis became 3-4 hour visits. Not kidding. I brought my sister with me once, Tammy answered the phone while my sister was paying and continued talking. Took my sisters money, still on the phone. My sister never went back. I stop going bc I moved from the area. And honestly I didn't feel it was worth the trek back there. If it was stellar, I would have returned. Since then I have found a place on the Danforth. Very happy there! read more

My girlfriend checked the yelp reviews went here, came home with a beautiful fresh set. The next day I went there. Tammy is a very sweet lady but she ruined my nails. I asked for SNS and had 4 nails break in 5 days. I had them repaired and had 3 more break. Having 7 nails break in 10 days is unheard of My girlfriend had the same experience. Our nails were literally snapping off. SNS, when done properly lasts for three weeks. I have broken nails before, but never more than one in two weeks. Maybe she is better with gel and acrylic, but I will never return here. read more

Best in the Beach! Tammy has been doing my nails for years now. She offers professional manicures and pedicures with fair pricing.

The combination of winter and housework had destroyed my nails and cuticles. I had half an hour to kill, I was parked right outside Nail & Waxing which was open for another hour and the sandwich board outside read: Manicure $15! Sold! Being a manicure virgin, I didn't really know what to expect. When I was asked to choose a colour from the wall, I got all nervous and asked for a light colour. The ladies obviously sensed I had no idea what I was doing and told me they could choose a light colour for me. Phew! I had a seat and started soaking one hand immediately while she started filing the nails on the other. She was very gentle the whole time and did a great job attacking my awful cuticles. It didn't take her very long to finish the one hand, and then we switched. She was quick yet thorough with her work. Then she brought over a warm damp towel and asked me to place my hands together. She placed the towel over my hands and clapped her hands over mine repeatedly. I was excited for the massage portion of the manicure, that I've heard so much about - but I guess that's not included in the $15 manicure. There was a bit of the clapping, and then she removed the towel and slapped on some cream and massaged that into my hands for a few seconds, but that was it. The polish application was pretty much perfect. She did an undercoat, 2 coats of the colour (which, to my relief, wasn't much a colour) and then a top coat. I messed up and ruined a nail in between layers, but she was able to fix it before the damage became permanent. Impressive! The whole thing took maybe 30 minutes, which was perfect for me. Any shorter and I would wonder why I was paying someone to do this for me. Any longer and I would have had a fit - I have places to be! The Vietnamese ladies barely spoke English, but were able to communicate the basics to me. I wasn't really in the mood for small talk, so this suited me just fine. There was some Vietnamese conversation going on in another part of the salon, but this didn't bother me at all. Not bad for my very first manicure. I will have to get at least a few more for comparison purposes. I was very pleased with the end results and can't stop looking at my shiny nails and clean cuticles. Very pleased with the price! read more

Decent no-frills nail salon in the Beaches area. Nice new spa beds. Decor is non-descript. Friendly owners. Walk-ins a-ok. Usual prices (Mani - $15, Spa pedi - $25 or both for $35) They did a good job on my pedicure and took their time. Can't complain. read more

Just finished my first manicure here. Very warm and friendly environment and the lady who did my nails was incredibly detail-oriented. Will be back :) read more

The employees are really nice, but the acrylics I got were weird and feel loose. The shape of the nails are also off and a little bit crooked and it feels like they're going to break off so I'm a little scared. A little aggressive when buffing the nail and it hurt because it snagged my skin. read more

The service went downhill the last time I visited. I also bring my dog with me (she's a tiny Maltese/Shih Tzu). The lady start shouting at me about having my dog on the chair. Can't bring myself to go back since. Go elsewhere. read more

Love the girls (and guy!) at Tammy Nails! Fun atmosphere, great prices and always good nails. Thanks!

Excellent!!! I suffered with ingrown nail problems on both of my big toes for years until I started going to Tammy nails about 3 months ago. First I want to start off with how welcoming her and her staff are and the even now call me by name just after serveral times of visiting. My friend recommended Tammy nails because of also ingrown nails so I decided to go since every nail salon I went to was unable to stop the ingrown from coming back after cutting it out. When I arrived I explained to her what I was looking for and she took the time to educate me on the correct way of doing predicures. It was evident that she not only cared about my well being as she could see how much pain I was, but was also excited to know that I was willing to travel 30 minutes just to get to her salon. I am HAPPY to say that just after 3 short months IAM PAIN FREE.. NO MORE INGROWNS...I love the treatment there and most importantly my nails look wonderful! I know i am in good hands and to me that's why I continue to go there... Thabk you TAMMY NAILS!!! Xoxoxox read more

Love the girls here! They always do my nails to perfection. The first time I came in I brought two others with me, and even though they were short on staff they accommodated us and made sure we all had a comfortable, quality experience. They even stayed late to make sure our nails were completely dry and to our standards. Needless to say I've been going here ever since and will continue to go! read more
