I've been wanting to visit for years but could never justify the prices. Anyway, I decided to finally cave in and go. The staff are very friendly and the place is very clean. I got a gel mani, gel pedi and a facial. I loved my pedi! My mani was mediocre and my whole hand literally chipped less than 24 hours later. I went back in a few days later for them to redo and this girl did a much better job and I'm happy with the results. I wouldn't get a facial here again. The lady doing my facial really tried to give me a history lesson on every product she was using on me the entire time lol so there was just no space to relax. Basically paid $60 for someone to use a bunch of different cleansers on my face with like 3 minutes of extractions even though that's what I wanted the focus to be. She was extremely nice though and informative. Overall, I'm happy with the pedi and second mani, and would come back, just not for a facial. I really get an ease of mind knowing they take cleaning and sanitization seriously. Their customer service is absolutely amazing! More businesses should follow suit. read more

I have been coming to this location of The Ten Spot for at least a year now and have nothing but great things about all the services I have had. The staff are always friendly, professional and accommodating - people are quick and efficient but never make you feel rushed. They also do their best to find time for add-on services too which is fantastic for people like me who decide on things like pedicures at the last minute. I 100% recommend Larissa for the Brazilly - quick, painless (which is saying a lot as I am pretty sensitive) and perfect every time. The Netflix, which you can control, helps keep you distracted too! Larissa, much like all the other staff, is also great with other services too. Love my gel manicure! They also offer a simple bar menu consisting of things like wine, coffee and Baileys or cider which is a nice treat. It perfect for when you are with friends, entertaining clients, or just want to have a relaxed experience on a Saturday afternoon. My only complaint is that their threader only comes in once a month on Saturdays. I love being to have the option of having that done any time I came in. I was informed by Brittanie (who gave me an awesome pedi btw!) that they offer plucking & shaping for those sensitive to hot wax on their face. Just another way they go above and beyond their accommodate their customers! read more

This must be the worst place in toronto to have a facial. You are on a really uncomfortable chair in a hallway where people are stomping up and down stairs and to the bathroom right in front of you - terrible experience. read more

By far the worst/most expensive pedicure Ive ever gotten. They dont tell you ahead of time that they must know if you want french or they wont do it. $57 for a pedicure that took 20 minutes (supposed to be longer) and I left without polish because its my birthday and I wanted french. Now I have to go elsewhere. The girl doing my feet was so snotty. Hey! if you hate your job get a new one! I had a gift card luckily because I wouldnt have paid for that crap. read more

I've had about five or six pedis/gel manis at Ten Spot. Twice the girl I had buffed my nails for so long there was almost no nail beds left on a few of my nails. And I do mean a long time--the person I came in with was finished her gel mani before my girl even started mine! (And my nails were perfectly healthy, there was no extra buffing req'd) I had to wait about six weeks for the thin spots to grow out. Another time I'd booked a gel mani and decided (last minute) to do a French mani and they refused to do it. I realize my change was late but really? An extra five minutes? So I paid $50 for a colour that was applied too thinly and the polish left gaps of exposed nail on some edges. When they refused the French mani, I should have left. Every other place has not minded if I decide upon French once I arrive. By far the biggest beef I have is that I've walked in several times hoping they could take me without an appointment (fully prepared to wait a bit) and was told they are fully booked when they only have one or two customers. With staff standing around. Their business model baffles me. read more

I went in for an eye brow wax, pedicure and manicure for my sisters wedding over the September long weekend. have nothing bad to say about my eye brow wax. It was perfect. I'll start off with my pedicure; I was expecting any kind of dead skin, imperfection and especially the cracked heels I had to be gone; this did not happen. I think my feet were soaked for less than 5 minutes in cold water, which I informed them, but let's splash a few drop of hot water to "warm" it up. Ha! There was nail polish still around my toe nails, the polish didn't cover all of my toe nails and my feet were an absolute disaster, it didn't even look like I had an pedicure done. And because of this, I couldn't even wear the shoes I wanted to wear to the wedding because they looked like nothing had been done. My manicure was the same, because of the "picking" tool aruond my nails it left me with small ripped skin parts all around my nails, and I have never had some many hangnails before, plus a couple parts were "ripped" too hard and there was slight blood spots. I had to tell the esthetician twice to put on two coats because you could still see parts of my nails AND even then all of my nail was not 100% covered. I was even trying to inquire about some facial creams they had on an Ad on the table beside me.. all I got was "it's good." I tried to ask more questions, "it's good," is all I was told. And that was that. She finished and I was told my nails would be dry, and wasn't until just over 20 minutes later someone came by to see if I had the "drying" spray done (which I did not, and even my esthetician did not come back to check my nails, she just got up and left), I was told my nails would be fine, they're dry, don't worry, I'm good to go. (Had my eye brows waxed, so that was another 10 minutes). I went to pay and my nails had already started smuding right off (onto my wallet no less, so thanks for that. The pink glitter adds a nice touch to the white leather interior). I couldn't even stay (not like anyone offered to help me fix my nails) because I had hair and dress appointments immedialtely following my visit to 10 Spot. I had also inquired about the colour that was being painted on my toes because I wanted to purchase it. They did not have it in stock but said "I'll order it for you, it should come within the week." Still haven't heard about that... I have never been so disappointed before; my feet and nails were an absolute disaster. I had to redo my nails, which in turn didn't look professional at all - hence, why I paid over $100 to have them professionally done. It was a horrible experience, especially considering it was for my sisters wedding the next day, nothing could be done. So basically I wasted two hours of my time and over $100 for nothing. I will not be coming back. read more

I want to give it zero stars. I got majorly ripped off for a 62$ pedicure. There was nothing special about it, foot soak in a shallow sink, uncomfortable chair, girl rushed through everything then practically ran out the door without a word to me. Very unprofessional atmosphere. I felt mad when I left like I had just been robbed. read more

I had a brazilly at The Ten Spot and, to be honest, my experience wasn't great. The girl seemed to be in a hurry and left a noticeable amount of hair. I don't think that's okay for $50 Brazilian. After a week of being quietly frustrated by my patchy Brazilian, I decided to call. And here's the reason I'm giving 5 stars. I spoke to the manager, Jessica, and she was quick to apologize and remedy the situation. She invited me back in for a free touch up Brazilly (with Angelina, who was wonderful and very thorough) and offered a deal on my next one. They took great care of me and won me over, I'll be coming back! read more

Walked in today for a lip and eye brow wax. They had no one available and wanted to book me an appointment 2 hours later. I agreed until they needed a credit card to "hold my appointment". Left me very leery having had my identity stolen a few years back. Would consider revisiting should this policy change. read more

I went to this location to get my brows waxed. I had an appointment for the full brow (above, below, between, and brow trim). It was my first visit so I explained that I had sensitive skin and that I was worried about the above brow waxing -- didn't want them to be too small/overly "done". Bing, bang, boom... Wax done. Seemed fine. Tweezing was fast, furious, and painful. Had to ask her to pause at one point. I was whisked out within 10 minutes (supposed to be a 20 min appt) and did not receive, nor was I offered, the brow trim. Took a look in a mirror when I got home and my brows didn't look any different than when I do them at home. The above wax was off the mark, more like she waxed my forehead than brows. Didn't take away any of the strays. I still had longer hairs left between my brows and completed the trim myself at home. Completely not worth the $23 (tax and tip included) as I did a lot of work myself at home. Woke up the next day to scabbing under my brows due to the fast and furious Tweezing. Great. I give 2 stars because it was a clean and welcoming environment. I also submitted a review through a follow up email from the salon and the owner was quick to respond. However, I will not be returning. read more

Love the Ten Spot in the Beaches!!! I've been a happy customer for years!! I love the calm environment with movies on their screens rather than cp24! And the excellent staff always offer refreshments when i arrive. Very nice! read more

I'm writing this review in terms of the waxing services i've gotten at the Ten Spot, as I wasn't actually that impressed with the gel manicure i got there a few years ago so have never gone back for a mani. I can get cheaper and better manicures at almost any random nail salon near my house. Their waxing however, is pretty fantastic. I got to watch the mindy project and joke around with the woman who did my waxing and it was super casual, over quickly, relatively painless (considering it was a wax of course,) and well done. The rooms are clean and bright, they don't double dip and they're very considerate if you have concerns or if it's your first time. I've been here twice now for a " Brazilly" and saw Antoinetta, and she is fabulous, very friendly, and not awkward at all. She's especially great at being considerate to us "thicker girls" who are maybe not all that flexible. When I went in yesterday they apparently double booked or had an issue with scheudling because I ended up waiting for a half hour for my wax after my appointment time. In all fairness I was one of the last appointment slots of the day, so they had plenty of time to work up a bit of a backlog. As long as i'm not in a rush i never really mind waiting a bit, because I understand that these things happen, but the woman working the front desk was incredibly apologetic and offered me a drink about three times as I waited, and then gave me 20% off my service for making me wait. Also since i was at the end of the day the pedicure i was supposed to get after my wax was able to be pushed back by a half hour, so i was still able to get both services, even though I insisted that the woman doing my toes totally didn't have to stay late on my behalf and I could come in another day. Also they are now serving wine/cider/beer, so you can have a drink as you get your toes painted, and watch Friends. SCORE! A word of caution, they are very busy, so BOOK AHEAD. You might luck out with a walk in, but i've seen a lot of people get turned away because the place was packed. read more

Had my brows threaded by Brooke. Great service and it seems like she really loves her job. Very little discomfort. Brooke was very polite and professional. Even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon I did not feel rushed. It was my first time having threading done and I loved it. Will return to see Brooke in a few weeks. They also have a yummy selection if body and face products which I would love to try. read more

The shop is clean and modern. The staff are very friendly and nice. I have tried them on two different occasions and have been very disappointed with the services. I had my eyebrows waxed and they just looked awful. They were waxed far too thin and I had to fill them in for six weeks afterwards. I got a gift card for my birthday and decided to go get a gel manicure (I have never had one before) a few hours before I left on a plane for Cuba. From what I heard, gel manicures should last a week or two no problem. By the time I landed in Cuba 12 hours later, two nails had completely peeled off. I hadn't even gone in the pool or ocean. Such a let down. I am not sure if it was the product or how it was applied that caused it to come off so soon. I won't be back. Over priced for services I was very unhappy with. read more

My recent trip to Ten Spot Beaches was, as expected, exceptional! I saw Ericka for a brazilly and she was AWESOME! I generally see whoever is available when I am and I find that the quality is consistent across the board so if you can't get Ericka, no worries. I was a bit pressed for time and had only a small window in which to get things done. She started right on time, and finished early which was GREAT! I almost didn't want to leave because I was having such a good time laughing and watching Aziz Ansari tell jokes on the television. Yes, I was also having my pubes ripped out by the roots, but, I tell you, there is no place I would rather be to have that done than Ten Spot. It is super-clean - no double-dipping the wands - and I've never felt more comfortable having it done. It was a breeze! read more

I've been having Shellac manicures every two weeks for well over 5 years with out incident. I had three gel manicures at The Ten Spot and after the third manicure my nails started to disintegrate. I had the gel removed, and my nails are destroyed. You can actually see large patches of red on each nail, which is my nail bed showing through what little is left of my nails. It will take many months to recover from this. I wish I had paid attention to the negative reviews. They are also outrageously expensive. Take your nails elsewhere. read more

My visit to 10 spot in The Beach was fantastic. Best facial I've ever had, the customer service is simply incredible.

I've gone here several times only because it is convenient and the beaches is starting to lack a great mani/pedi place so I decided to try it out - let's just say they are great for facials (except they are done in the middle of a room). Someone can be getting their face waxed right next to you or watch you while getting a facial. It's quite uncomfortable and not relaxing at all! Manicure and Pedicures are quite disappointing. The nail polish doesn't cover your whole nails and they chip after a day or two. You also get more hang nails than when you came in. I also left with it looking my cuticles weren't even done and my feet didn't even look like they were buffed. Less than a week later I went and got my hands and feet done closer to work (I was going away and needed them done). Let's just say I will not visit the ten spot for a mani/pedi anytime soon. Not happy at all. read more

Not what you expect given the price point. Such stupid names for services, makes the place sound so down market: "The Brazilly", "The Quickie" and "Get Nailed" is their in house polish. Save your money and do your pedicure yourself because the results will be about the same. The shape of my nails is not at all what I would expect from a professional place - one of them is way shorter than the others and one is a totally irregular shape. It is clean but the staff would really benefit from a more cohesive look in terms of what they wear. read more

I' have been going here since it first opened last summer. If I was to write this review last year, I would have nothing but positive things to say. I really thought I found a gem, an expensive gem but a gem! I come here for my waxing and pedicures. The last few months that I have booked here were disappointing. This last experience was proof that I need to find another place. I had booked a pedi for my birthday weekend, I wanted to relax. Let me first say, that I was the only customer and there was about 7 other employees on the floor with no clients. They were loudly talking about what bars they were going to and how they don't like their schedule for the upcoming week. I'm ok with talking but when it comes to the point where the person who does my nails has to ask me to repeat myself because she can't hear me....I have an issue. Another issue I had was being rushed out after my pedi. I have been here many times and I know that the procedure to drying. They let you dry off for 5 mins and then spray you. In the last year and a bit, I have never been rushed out. I have always been told take your time, even on a busy Saturday. This time someone said to me" Well you were sprayed, you can leave now" It was pouring rain and I was planning to leave in the couple of minutes. I was stared at until I left. I could see if the store was busy, It was only me and another client in the store now. When I got home I noticed the paint was smudged. The customer service here hasn't been the same. I expect more if I am paying $50.00 for a pedicure, maybe that is just me. I stopped getting my eyebrows waxed here a couple of months ago. I can go somewhere else in the beaches and get a perfect wax in a private room for less than $18.00. I think I will be getting a pedi somewhere else now too. read more

I have been going to The Ten Spot for a little over 2 years now. I have been to both Leslieville and The Beaches locations. I love this location because I get served Davids Tea and Nespresso coffee while I get my pedicure done, and I always get to choose what I, watching on Netflix! All of the staff are super friendly and accommodating each time I have been and the service is always amazing! I really really love the hard wax they use for their Brazillys, nearly painless! I will never ever go back to strip waxing! Torture! They use the best skin care in The Beach, I wouldn't go anywhere else for facials, as this is the only place that carries Skin Ceuticals. They also give you a card that accumulates points for services which is great keeps me coming back every time! read more

Probably the worst manicure I've ever had, nails actually looked worse leaving then when I went in.

No, No, No and NO!!! I'd been going to this location for some time, though their services were a bit pricy, because I liked the cleanliness and modern look of the place. Waxing and shellac manis, mostly, and holiday pedis that were meh at best. (Despite my asking for specific toe nail grooming due to previous injury, they tried to pressure me into doing it "their way," which made me feel uncomfortable.) But, my real disappointment began when they started trying to sell stuff to my young teenage daughter in my absence. More than once, I'd come in to pay for my 13 year old's service, and they'd have a line-up of supposedly luxe "teen" skincare products (some of them for blemishes, etc) at the register which she told me she felt pressured into approving of. And, more than once, I had to tell them absolutely not. She was coming in for basic grooming, services that were for fun, not to be told/to have it implied that she was inadquate in any way. And NO WAY you should be asking a minor to make purchases.lWe will NOT be returning. read more

Got waxed here today by Antonietta, and she was great! I was nervous because I have a lot of coarse hair and a low pain tolerance, but this experience was not as bad as i thought it would be. If youre looking for someone experienced and quick, see Antonietta!! read more

Went for an eyebrow wax. Seemed OK, but while I was walking back to my car, I felt a burning on my eyelid. Upon inspection of the spot, I found a chunk of my eyelid missing. When I went back to the shop, the girl blamed it on my sensitive skin and seemed not to believe I was not on medication. I asked for my money back and she had to call someone to get approval. She did reverse the charge but I have a noticeable red mark on my eyelid where I'm pretty sure no hair ever grew in the first place. Now I'm at work, in a job where I deal with the public, looking like I have a burn on my face. read more

Yuck! I felt tense all through my facial because of the negative comments I was hearing about my skin, followed by a heavy duty up-selling lecture. I also had a grossly over-priced pedi - left with dirty feet and a sloppy nail polish job. Save your money and go to Nails for You! read more
