The address is wrong, or they have moved since they were listed - it's now and has been for 2 years in the heart of Yorkville. We came here today with a mani and pedi with Fabfind. After choosing the colours, we sat down for the pedis. The girls were efficient, but I found that even though they were fast, I felt they didn't perform the service long enough - like buffing my feet, and the massage. But it was still okay. I also liked that the polish was applied well and quickly without fuss. The mani was the same. She did a good job of getting rid of cuticles and the polish. The only down side was they didn't have any quick dry sprays, and anticipating this, I brought my own. I think it saved the day, because there were no fans, or dryers, nor did they use quick dry top coats. I also got a eyebrow waxing. Ada was really good, and always asking my opinion. She also tweezed quite a bit. She was really cute with her handwritten name tag. There was a sign in the room saying to refuse service if you see the her double dip the waxing stick. Not sure why. The people who work here are chinese, and they are all really friendly. They also had quite a few men come in, and male technicians. The owner is really nice. My friend was unable to get her paid for Fabfind, and she help by calling the fabfind customer service to get it straightened out. The place itself was okay. It's not decorated fancy, and I wouldn't say that it looked spotless, but it was clean. Prices were a bit high tho ($25 for mani, $40 for pedi, $15 for eyebrow wax), but average. They also have special deals during the week, check the website. I'd come back especially if I were in the area. read more

Over priced and slow! The few times I've come here, it takes almost 1.5 hours for a shellac mani and anywhere else I go they can do it in 60 mins. I brought a large group here and spent a lot of money. My shellac manicure started peeling less than a week later, but I wasn't able to make it back to the salon until the following Monday. Because it was past 10 days, they charged me $5.65 to fix one nail. Because of that, I canceled my appointment for the following week and will never return. Be wary - they will grab every penny they can to pay for their new renovations and everything is overpriced for underwhelming services. read more

I have been going to this place for a couple of years now and I have always enjoyed the service. Today was by far the worst experience I have had here and I will likely not be going back. I booked my appointment for a shellac mani / regular pedi days in advance and was requested to come in earlier if I could - so I did. Typically a visit to a spa (including this one) has always been relaxing. When I got there, I picked my colour and was told to go soak my feet. As soon as I sat down, one girl was doing my pedi and another my mani - on my own lap!! Within 30 minutes they were done. 15 minutes later, the manager put clear plastic wrap around my feet and told me I could leave. It's the dead of winter, so I'm not going to be walking around with my flip-flops. I put my boots on and by the time I got home, obviously my pedicure was ruined. This was the first time that I saw them doubling up on the mani / pedis - and the owner wasn't around. I wouldn't have minded it so much, except that I had water and skin peelings all over my lap from the manicure and then the ultra violet heater placed on my lap for drying for the reminder of the time. It was totally not an enjoyable experience. Seeing my ruined my nails after paying $75 for this 30 minute job took the cake. I paid cash for the job and no receipt was written (typically I pay by credit card and the owner writes a receipt for their own records or whatever). After all that, I didn't bother to tip. If you want a "decent" service there, go to someone you know is good. read more

I've had a great pedicure here before. This time I had a shellac removal and a shellac polish change for $30. I came in on Sunday morning at opening without an appointment and they took me in immediately. It did get a lot busier while I was there, so I recommend an appointment if you come in later. The lady who did my nails removed the shellac properly and tried to prevent damage to my nails. She also did a really great job applying the colour, which she helped me choose (this colour is now my go-to). BRUTAL ! Let me begin by saying, I went to this place a year ago and met Holly the technician whom is beyond amazing! Very gentle, attentive, and removed my in grown toe nails without any pain. So I had tried to book my next appt with her, however she wasn't available and the receptionist suggested I go to another technician. I agreed since I needed a pedicure. Don't remember the other technicians name, however she cut my toe so badly it wouldn't stop bleeding for 10 mins, she kept trying to cover it up. I complained to the receptionist/owner/manager? And not only did she not give me any discount she didn't even apologize! I told her I would place a complaint against the salon and only then did she offer to give me $10.00 off, which is ridiculous considering I was in pain and couldn't wear closed shoes because it hurt too much! Today I decided to book a pedicure with Holly because she really is amazing even though I can't stand the owner. Holly did a superb job very happy, and she also did a shellac manicure for my mom. Once we were done I went to pay, the same lady was there at the front desk. She took out her calculator and told me the total for the shellac manicure was $57.00 which is insane! Apparently they charge for removal $10.00 even though you are doing shellac again, and the shellac manicure is $40.00 plus tax, oh and an extra $6.00 for French tips. I'm sorry but the salon isn't anything luxurious and the amount they charge cannot be justified. I've been to much better salons in a high end area in Rosedale, (Mani Pedi Spa) they charge $30.00 for shellac with removal. I have been coming here for two years now and I have noticed a decline in the service level. I always make an appointment and more often than not end up waiting. I usually get biogel nails and shellac pedicure and today I got regular polish. I felt they just tossed me aside because of this and kept asking why I wasn't getting shellac. I got tossed between three different nail technicians in the process and got rushed to pay cash when I hadn't even had my shellac removed. It's hard to feel comfortable here when you ask a question and all of the workers start talking in another language. When I was leaving it was pouring rain and I asked if someone could walk with me with an umbrella to the car parked right outside at the curb so my nails and body didn't get soaking wet and they told me no and didn't try to assist. This is unfortunate since customer service in this industry is so important to keeping your customer base especially when competition is two doors down. Overall the application of the job is great but overall want to go where I feel like my business is appreciated. read more

I know this is 100% my fault, but I called to see if they would cut me a deal or still honour the coupon, since I assume the reason they are offering the deal on fabfind is because they want customers. The day after I took the whole family, man for pedicure and massage, step-daughter for mani-pedi we had just picked her up from summer camp...and myself I had the pedicure heaven the whole treatment... we loved it and our feet and nails have never looked better. I am a bit puzzled by the negative reviews but different strokes for different folks. Also, I have just visited once, but I had a great experience. I had a shellac manicure and pedicure with removal. The person who did my pedicure prior to this appointment (at another salon) used a type of top and base coat that was almost impossible to get off. But Agnes who did my toes was very patient and did a great job. The place itself is spacious, very bright and clean, and reasonably priced. And they did a really really great job on my nails. it was awful! I went with a friend with the voucher I have purchased from Fabfind for manicure and pedicure. Although they were fast with both mani and pedi, the service was absolutely terrible. When we asked where we can hang up the coat, the lady didn't even bother to say a word and pointed with her head to the direction of coat hanger. She demanded that we pay the tax before she started anything. We had to wait for a long time before they started despite the scheduled appointment. They were really rough and aggressive when buffing my feet that my feet turned red and sore afterwards. They didn't say much, except with each other. When they were finished, they didn't say anything either. I had to ask whether there was a dryer or how long I had to wait until it was dried. They didn't even turn around to say 'Bye' as we were leaving. They just looked at us as we were walking out. We were very disappointed with the service. I have been a regular at Sheacoco for more than a year... And compared to other options in Yorkville think it's good value for your $. Like any salon, over time you find "the one" for you. In my case I always make my appointment with Agnes, who is thorough, gentle, and a total perfectionist ! I discovered Shellac last December and have my pedicures with this product. AMAZING because I now only need to go every 5 or 6 weeks...and my toes are always perfect ! No chips, and as shiny after 6 weeks as it is they day it's done. You just have to change it because the nail grows out :) The best part of the shellac pedicure is that you can put your socks on and never worry about damaging the polish or having to wait foe the polish to be totally dry. So important when you can't wear open toe shoes... I've recommended this place to many friends... read more
