I've been here 3 times now (reg polish only), their quality and attention to detail is excellent! The only downfall is the price is almost double a normal nail salon, I usually always get a polish change for $7 at other places, here it's $15. They really push you to get a manicure, they said if I got the polish change they wouldn't file my nails, this service plus cutting is typically included at other salons. I once asked for the simple mani ($25) and I was charged for a basic ($35) on my way out, I insisted I said "simple" and she said I was given basic... Their designs are also really nice but again ridiculously overpriced, I got a silver stripe design which is a thin straight sticker, they charged me $2 PER LINE! So I got 2 lines x 2 nails x $2.00 = $8.00?! Overall this place is double the price as a regular nail salon but they don't offer anything worth double the price. While the staff at Get Gelled provide a reliably high quality service when it comes to your nails, the customer service leaves something to be desired. I had my appointment (which I was counting on for a trip out of town) cancelled arbitrarily because I had not provided a credit card number. However, the salon only asked for the CC information by e-mail, and gave me a one-hour window to respond before giving away my appointment. They did not call me to confirm, despite having my number, and despite my having been there multiple times previously. For the price, I expect much better, and will no longer be using Get Gelled. read more

Yay! I was so happy to FINALLY Get Gelled! I have been meaning to come here for some time, but unfortunately a string of gel manicures made my nails a little to weak to justify.. so I waited... It's been two weeks since my manicure and everything is still looking great! On day 11 I had the tiniest of chips, but nothing since. I really love the manicure bar, it's a step up from my normal $35 mani/pedi joint and is designed beautifully, like a spa. There are tons of spots for manicures and pedicures. The service was great, and though the manicure wasn't super thorough it's really not what the place is about - it's about the nail art!! My manicure cost about $75 which was totally worth it. It's expensive, yes, but it's unique and all the gems were individually placed. I already can't wait to come back and I have my next nail art design idea already brewing. Yes, they are expensive but is it expensive if you manicure literally lasts an entire month with little to no chipping? Usually I go after about 3 weeks because of the growth but other than that my last 3 manicures have not chipped until the 3 week mark, if they chipped at all. They have the most beautiful designs. My experience at getgelled was not what I was expecting. I was mislead on both the colour and price, and the application was of poor quality (given the fact that I paid premium for a simple gel manicure with design). I picked a light pink colour on the colour wheel (#18) and when Sun supposedly used the same polish on my nails, it looked white. I was hoping that the pink colour would become more apparent as more layers were applied, but nope, still white! I also added some star stickers to my nails and asked about the price, which Sun said was $2. However, when it was time to pay she apologized and said that the price of the stars varies by size... the big star sticker is $3 and the smaller one is $2 (I got four stars - two big and two small, but they looked pretty much the same in size). While she was doing my nails, she started talking to other nail techs, distracted & clearly in a rush because she gave me two cuts on my cuticles which were bloodied and swollen after. After I left the salon, I noticed bubbles that formed on my gel nails. I emailed her with the issues about the bubbles and colour, and asked if I could change my colour to the light pink I initially asked for or to get a refund altogether. Sun's response was that no refunds are allowed, colour change is not complimentary, and the reasoning behind my nails being white in colour (not light pink) is due to the fact that the nail company changed the formula. She also mentioned that if I noticed the colour was different, then I should have told her so she could change it right away. If the owner knew about the formula change, why couldn't she paint the colour wheel with the true colour or tell me upfront about the colour change so I can be informed about my decisions beforehand? I came to getgelled with a level of trust that whatever colour I choose should be the same colour I get. If the owner knew about the change in formula and puts the fault on me to tell her that it's not the right colour, it becomes very misleading and frustrating. To resolve this issue, she offered to fix the bubbles, which was done by another nail tech (not Sun). If the salon wants to improve customer experience, they should be upfront about ALL the costs (including the stickers) AND the colour (samples on colour wheel are true to colour) so it doesn't lead to disappointment. read more

I just love this boutique. It's so feminine and girly and the staff are very sweet and nice. The owner, Sun always makes sure that she is attentive to what I would like. The way they do manicures is different than any other place I've been and I have to say I much prefer it. The technicians pay close attention to detail and my nails and cuticles always look perfect after I leave and they last a long time (although I'm tempted to want to return sooner for another nail design :-P ) They are very gentle with my hands and feet and everything is done perfectly and the designs are so amazing! I also find that with other nail places I can't get regular gel manicures as my nails seem to thin and soften after removal of the gel. I find at Get Gelled that is not the case. My nails are still healthy, strong and long :) It's more expensive than other places yes, but for the quality of product, service, design, detail and atmosphere, I will pay it! The place is very clean, not your normal looking full of acetone smell nail salon. They're famous for their gel manicure and design. Staff is very talented. They can do any design you want when you show them a picture. Would come here more often if my budget allows. Their gel manicure is $50 and with tax+tips comes out to $60. With designs (not too elaborate design) on average $80-$90. They do very good job with cuticle work (the best in my opinion) and nail shaping. I have been coming here for almost 5 years now and I am impressed with the quality and consistency of service. I love this place. Sun is meticulous and talented. She is passionate on what she does and she work hard to give you the best experience. Every time I have my appointment, I get the most beautiful lash extension that look real and make everyone wonder what mascara I'm using cause it looks too good. Got my nails done here last year for the first time after seeing some good reviews on Yelp and pictures on their IG account #getgelled. Anyway, the service was mediocre at best since the girl I was with didn't speak much English so initially it wasn't off the best start... The owner had her own appt with a more chattier lady who appeared to have been a regular which seemed to calm my nerves as I'm a perfectionist when it comes to quality of my nails. I decided to go with a french gel with acrylic accents which turned out lovely, however the price for it was damaging to my ears as I paid over $130 - Yeah you're crying too. I was hoping by the end of the week the nails would have held its own but to my dismay, my ring finger cracked and kept lifting off quite easily along the sides which was noticeable when you wash your hands. Needless to say I for sure will not be coming back here and I'm happy most people got a great experience out of this place but for the price and professional quality, I'd rather stick to Pacific Mall where theirs was more than half the price off and theirs lasted me a whole month with no problems! Just thought I would stretch my olive branch to this place and give it another good rating but it was as aforementioned, mediocre at best. read more

2.5 Stars This review is based on 2 years of appointments. Sorry if it is tl;dr but if you are really considering going for the first time, my experiences might be helpful. Major Points: - gel nails peel off if applied too thin/you have more oils around the cuticle - regular polish came off like it was a sticker - long wait times even with advance appointment - nails done in a rush, not as I asked, not sealed off, had to file them off my skin when I got home, 2 lifted from nail edge within 3 days while on a trip-- owner offered 10% discount or free upgrade to gradation ($10 off) since I couldn't go back right away - they only fix issues if something happens within 72 hours - for the price, the quality and customer service is just not up to par, despite the nail design talent The first few times I went, the nails started peeling after about 5 days. Because they peeled from my cuticle area, I assumed it was the oils on my nails, and the owner suggested the same at my next appointment. The thing I should have better considered is that shellac from other nail salons stays on my nails longer than the gel did. I returned a number of times. My sister came with me twice and her nails stayed on for over a month with no issues. When Sun did my nails, she added an extra thick layer on top, and this actually made them last 3 weeks. I was really happy with that. However, this past summer, I ended up getting a regular pedi before standing in my friend's wedding (2 days before the wedding) and the morning of, I woke up to the nail polish having come off of a nail while I was sleeping. Literally, the entire nail of it just fell right off. I had to run to a drug store before making an hour drive at 7am to get to the hair appointment. I was really not impressed but was in another city and obviously couldn't wait to have them fix it. The day after the wedding, 2 more nails did the same thing-- just lifted right off! I also got a gel mani with my mom the day before the wedding, and even though I specifically booked for 2 of us well in advance, we ended up waiting for over 30 minutes, which was a big inconvenience because my dad was stuck at my condo alone. Then, they started my nails and left my mom sitting on the waiting bench so I couldn't even talk to her because they were full. The reason was apparently because I was getting design which takes much longer. About an hour into my 2.5 hour mani, they started doing my mom's nails. I realize they were trying to match up the timing, but I booked to get them done together so I was really disappointed that they essentially overbooked after I made my appt about a month ahead of time. As others have noted, their designs are absolutely incredible and they are very talented artists. However, I'm not sure I want to go back anymore after my latest experience. I got a gel colour before going on a trip about 2 weeks ago. I wanted it with clear half moons and the girl acknowledged that, but then applied full colour to the first nail. I decided to let her keep going rather than make her start over. The colour was applied really sloppily and with the layer of clear gel on top, it was not distributed evenly at all so my nails ended up wavy. She got quite a bit of clear gel on my skin around the nail to the point where she ended up filing it off the sides after my manicure was cured. I also had to file the sides more when I got home. Of course, this caused a couple of chips on the side of the gel after just a day or two. But the biggest issue was that she didn't seal the nails at the edge. 2 of them lifted while I was on vacation and kept getting caught on my clothes. I tried to keep them on to have them fixed when I returned, but since they kept getting caught, they lifted off once I got back. Then another started, and another until I soaked them off myself. I did contact the owner and she said they would have fixed anything that happened "within 72 hours" but since I was away, she offered either 10% off or a free upgrade to gradation for my next service. She did apologize and I did appreciate her offers, except a 72 hour policy when the manicure price STARTS at $50 is insane. When I'm paying that much, and you say it will last 14 days, I expect that to last 14 days! Not 2. That's just ridiculous. Unless I soak my hands in water for 48 straight hours, those gel nails should NOT come off. I would really rather pay less knowing I will at least get a week out of it. I am really not enchanted after trying this place for 2 years. Probably going to find a new salon :( read more

Came here with a friend and we each picked a design from the Internet for our nails. We asked for a quote and Sun said 80+ depending on if there are any gems added on. Ok that's fair. We we proceeded to pay the total came up to almost 300$!!!! I did not have any gems however my friend did and her bill was a bit more expensive then mine. But I did not expect it to be so steep! If it was way more than your quote shouldn't you tell us when we presented the design in the beginning on the session? The customer service and results were amazing but I would not come back as I found another nail salon that offers the same warm service but for at least half of the price I paid here. I've been to Get Gelled probably 3 times in total (long overdue review.) The first experience was great, the staff were nice, they offered me tea while doing my nails and at the end, they were perfect. However, after the good first experience, it only went downhill. I went back a second time and the application sucked. Within a week, my shellac manicure guaranteed to last at least ten days started chipping. I emailed Sun and she offered to have it fixed which is fine.. but within a couple days, it began chipping again. So I gave it one last shot. I went in to get my nails switched up and afterwards, one of my nails cracked. I asked if she could fix it and she told me to come back in. I had an appointment after my nail fix, so was hoping it wouldn't take too long. I arrived on time, only to wait for 20 mins before I could be seated to fix one nail. Another customer had to be like "oh you can help her while I'm drying". She seemed annoyed she had to help me while having another client and rushed through it very quickly. I probably only cured my nail for 10 seconds before she applied the second layer. But you booked me in to come in so shouldn't you have made sure it would work with your schedule? When I was finished, Sun quickly rushed me out and was like "how much cash do you have, just pay whatever.. but it's really $15 to fix a nail." Such a rude tone...I quickly paid her and left. so yup. never went back ever ever again and if anyone ever asks me about this place it is always a don't bother wasting your money here. This place is hands down, the best in the city. Clean, warm, friendly, and the work they do can't be matched. I've been around to many nail salons in the city, but this one takes the cake. Even just a basic manicure lasts well over a week, with gel lasting as long as three. My nails are stronger and healthier, skin is smooth and supple. The nail art is all hand drawn. Definitely confirm with the artist before you sit down on how much your design will cost (I was blind sided once or twice) but otherwise, it's amazing. Came here for my first ever manicure just over a month ago. Didn't get spoken to at all during the appointment (she just spoke to her colleagues in her language. So I couldn't even join in with those conversations). Didn't get offered any beverages. After saying it was my first one I was given no direction, for example I wasn't told how long to keep my hands in the dryer as its not a timed one - I was just left to it and it just seemed to do short bursts. The nails were prepared well and nicely. They have a huge range of colours and designs. The polish however wasn't so good on two nails. I didn't have much to go on at the time, but as I've just had a manicure elsewhere that was miles better both in quality and customer service it really showed me the difference. So it was fine. I found this place online and most of the reviews were positive, so I thought I'd give them a try. I had decided to try some gel nails b/c I'm getting married this summer and I wanted to take some time to find the right place to do my nails for the big day. I was initially impressed with the service. They let me park behind the store in their private spot b/c I couldn't find parking, which was nice. They offered beverages, and the studio is cute. I had no idea what I wanted, and they ended up recommending a pink gradation gel finish, which looked nice. I noticed the intricate work they were doing on ladies around me and I was blown away by the artistry. My simple gradation gel finish and the gel nails came to $146 including tax and tip, which shocked me a little, but I paid it and left happy with my nails.... ...until 5 days later when one nail fell off. I called them to book an appointment to fix it. The soonest I could get in b/c of my own schedule was the following week. I didn't ask whether they would charge me for the repair; I assumed they would. Then on day 6 and 7 two more nails fell off. I called them, at this point pretty upset. I was told that they would repair one nail for free but their policy is that anything beyond 5 days is not their responsibility. They only guarantee that their $146 gel nails will last for FIVE DAYS????? I couldn't believe it. I had gone into another salon and asked whether the nails had fallen off b/c my nails were too soft or for some reason that was my fault and was told that the issue was with the way they were applied. "They did a bad job" is what I was advised. No word of a lie, I lost a nail a day for 6 days. I have since had the whole set replaced elsewhere for a lot less money. I wish I hadn't thrown that $146 into the garbage. What a huge waste. Very disappointed. It would have been really nice if they would have taken responsibility for their mistake. read more

Decent quality but far overpriced. I went for the first time today and ended up paying $94.... my heart sunk when I saw the bill. The breakdown is as follows: $55 for Get Gelled manicure (2 basic gel colours) + $15 removal fee + $14 for nail design ($7 per finger) + tax. I got a gel manicure but was disappointed by 2 things: the fact that after 2 days of wear, the gel starting chipping (something that never happens with Shellac) and that if you want any type of 'nail art' (gradient, design, half moon) you are charged extra for each. Which means a $50 gel manicure can end up costing you $85 if you want half moons on some nails and accent/ gradient on other nails. Oh, and the best part? I first noticed them chipping off in 3 days time, and when I gave them a call to enquire about getting it re-done, the attitude of the staff threw me off as they weren't very convinced that the nail really came off in 3 days. They even went far to ask when I actually came in last time.. If you cannot do your job properly, at least admit to the fact that sometimes mistakes happen, then I would've stayed with them as I am very lenient. Have had a few mani-pedis here. The place is polished and bright. Staff are skilled and professional. BUT I will comment on the vibe. Have found it to be inconsistent. One day it's super friendly and kind, next day cold and anti social. I needed a mani today for my brothers wedding tmrw so I was in a bit of a tizzy. The mood seemed curt and agitated when I walked in. Was not at ease today. At the end of my manicure I smudged a nail by accident and the girl looked annoyed for having to fix it. Only time they brightened up and made small talk was when I paid. Inconsistency is fine but when I get a mani I usually look for warmth of service and kindness also. Didn't get that today. The regular gel manicure is a bit overpriced but that's okay, I'm paying extra for the atmosphere and also they really take the time to clean the nails and cuticles GREAT. I am pretty easygoing and am open to gel nail art suggestions but the technicians don't seem to want to offer any help or advice. My friends got a basic manicure with a simple design, the staff was very rude and rushed through their nails. My friends walked out with smudged nail polish, it was not neat or evenly done, you were able to still see the streaks (obviously did not put on enough coats) and they had to pay $30-$40 for it! Apparently the nail designs are $3+ per nail on top of the basic manicure price.... I decided to go for the gel nails and had to pay $80, I had nail design but they did not even bother cutting my cuticles or cleaning my nails properly before hand, even though it says on the website that all that was suppose to be included! I left unsatisfied with the price for the work done on my nails. I would NOT recommend this place, unless you want to get ripped off. In my book, this place is the best nail salon in downtown Toronto. Nice decor with simple furniture that goes well with the brick wall and everything is very clean! They offer iced strawberry green tea while you wait and it is yummy. The price is slightly above average but it is totally worth it I am usually concerned with my cuticle but Sun (she's the owner) is THE BEST with it. I have been to Get Gelled manicure twice and will not go back again. I over paid for the services I received and they were very poor quality. On my last visit, I got a gel manicure and pedicure (which I paid $170). Only after two days my nails began to chip. Being on vacation at the time, this was very frustrating. I emailed and also spoke to the owner over the phone. She was quite rude and unwilling to fix my nails, although she had previously claimed that the nails would last at least 2 weeks.
