    Balayage was amazing!! Thanks Brielle!!!
    Wendy J.

Brielle was amazing. I purchased the Groupon for Balayage, but I will definitely be back. I already scheduled my next appointment. I had previous highlights but wanted a more natural look. Brielle is amazing!!

I used to love going there, it was great, but then, in the middle of the worst part of COVID, I went in and only my stylist would wear a mask.. everyone else wasn't. It was a safety issue for me. Also...it was a mandate that they wear masks...if they don't care about the safety of their clients AND the restrictions put in place by the state, then what else do they not care about? It got sloppy for me. I loved my stylist but that was a big red flag for me. And now she's decided to insult me and my children. Highly professional. Her behavior is indicative of her class...and the reason I preferred the other stylists.

    Keratin treatment.

I used a Groupon for a keratin treatment and am thrilled so far with how it feels and looks. Brielle used an all natural product by GK, and it is applied a little differently than treatments I've had before. It's applied on wet hair, sets for a while, then is rinsed, followed by blow dry and straightening. We'll see how it holds up. And her dog Boo is a doll.

I booked an appt with Brielle to get my hair cut a few days ago and was pretty disappointed. I asked for an inch and a half off and it was definitely at least 3 inches that was taken off. Additionally, the ends are uneven and jagged. I will now need to go somewhere else to get it fixed since my hair is so straight it is very obvious.

I originally came across this salon on Groupon, a balayage, haircut, deep conditioning, and toner for $115. I thought, why not, it has good reviews on Groupon. I looked for Tamed on Yelp and it had horrible reviews but I decided to call and make an appointment anyways. I made the first available appointment and I was assigned with Jess. A few minutes later Jess called me to tell me she had strep and could not do my hair, I said ok that's fine. I went back on their website to see if Brielle was available and sure enough she was. (I needed to get my hair done that same day as my fiancé and I were going on a date later that evening) I arrive at the salon and Brielle greets me and I sit in her chair. I explain to her that I would like to get a balayage as I saw a deal on Groupon, told her I would like to go as light as possible without damage and bring up the color as I already had an outgrown balayage. She suggested not to go too light as my skin tone is on the darker side so I said that's fine. She goes into the back to mix the bleach and she starts to apply it to my hair. I immediately started to panic because she was just slapping it on my hair without the usual balayage technique but I trusted she knew what she was doing. She was done applying the bleach in 25 minutes !! Still, I said nothing- I was going to wait for the end results. I sat in the chair for 45 minutes and she was checking on the progress every so often during that time. Finally she rinsed out my hair, shampooing with a purple shampoo. She then went to go mix the toner. She comes back, applies the toner for literally maybe no more than 1 minute MAX which in my previous experience, that's not long enough to let the toner do it's work (I've been dying/bleaching my hair for years and I have had good balayage done by professionals) after the toner I questioned if she was going to deep condition my hair to honor the Groupon. She said that she had already applied it but there was no way she shampooed, toned, and deep conditioned my hair all in the 5 minutes I was in the chair. After going back to the chair to get my hair dried, I panicked again. She was drying my hair in layers and cutting them as she goes! I have never ever had someone dry a layer and then cut it and continue to do that. In the end, what I got was a choppy haircut and botched partial highlights. I specifically asked her if they blended in nicely and she said yes. I immediately saw that it was a botched job, but I had my 7 month old baby and my husband waiting at the Air Force base to be picked up from work so I could NOT stay longer than the 2 hours I was already there. At the time of payment she charged me $125 not $115 like the Groupon. Still-I said nothing and that was the end of that. I did not want to confront her about her terrible job or the fact that she charged me $10 extra seeing the past reviews of her being rude, not giving a refund, or satisfying what I originally walked in the salon for-there was no point. I'd rather spend more money somewhere else and have my hair corrected. I had to wear a baseball cap for my date, I was so embarrassed. Brielle was friendly, but she clearly cannot do a balayage.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Tamed Hair Salon. I got a groupon for balayage and haircut and I seriously could not be happier with the results. Jess is knowledgeable and talks to you about exactly what you want. She listens and my hair came out exactly how I envisioned. She is fun and a great conversationalist. I can't wait to go back, I am so in love with how my hair turned out.

This picture doesn't do it justice but it's the only one that doesn't show my face:)

It's warm and welcoming in that special way that makes you completely comfortable staying for 30min or hours on end. Zohra makes sure of that with her warm, inclusive conversational style. I typically go to another Great Clips location, but I was in the Drexel Hill area and thought I…read morecould squeeze in a quick trim before heading into work. I was greeted by a older woman at the register who checked me in (I use the app to check in ahead of time) and led me back to her chair. She asked me what I wanted to do with my hair today and I said I wanted to keep my same hairstyle, but I just needed a clean-up/trim as I'm growing my hair out for winter. My usual stylist uses a 3 on the clippers for the sides and back of my head with the crown of my head being chin length. The stylist grabs her clippers and starts SHAVING THE BACK OF MY HEAD!!!!!!! Not the 3 I asked for, not a 2, not a 1 but to shave me down to bald. As soon as I saw the first clump of my hair hit the floor, I told her to stop and asked if she was shaving the back of my head. She said yes, she was cutting my hair like her last client. Considering she had already decided what haircut she was going to give me from a client I did not see since she was standing alone at the register when I walked in so why she thought she could just start shaving my head is beyond me. I could not leave the salon with a huge chunk of hair missing at the back of my head. I told her to please do whatever she could do to rescue my hairstyle which meant shaving the sides and back of my head down to bald. Her consolation was that my haircut was free, knowing I would need years to grow out the worst haircut I've ever received. I walked out of the salon after the first butchering and saw that even though she shaved my head to bald, there were parts where my hair was uneven so I walked back in to ask for my hair to be fixed to the best of anyone's ability. Another stylist took pity on me and said she would correct the uneven shave. Stylist #2 (a tall younger woman with long dark hair) starts to correct the uneven shave of Stylist #1 then grabs her scissors to start lopping off most of the longer hair on the crown of my head! I was so upset that now I have a weird mix up of a shaved head with a manly pixie cut I DID NOT ASK FOR FROM EITHER STYLIST!!!!!!! The manager Gina (the only employee to offer their name), gave me an index card with her cell phone # and said she would contact the owner to see if I could be compensated for the terrible haircut that will take years to grow out. I told Stylist #1, Stylist #2 and the Manager that at my employer, my shaved head violates the my employer's employee dress code and there's no way to hide this hideous haircut other than a wig. Gina the manager said she would have the owner reimburse me for the cost of a wig. The owner has not reached out to me and a complaint was lodged with Corporate Great Clips for the traumatizing and unauthorized masculinization of my hair. Lo and behold, I get to work an hour after the disastrous haircut and I'm told to go home today. I need to report to HR in the morning to go through the termination process for violating the employee dress code. DO NOT under any circumstances think that you can verbalize to your stylist that you want a clean-up/trim of your current hairstyle and walk out with anything less than a butchering of your hair. You will instantly regret your decision to stop in "for a quick trim".
