Hi Angela, I'm Sorry but your sister misinformed you of what really happened. Your sister has been coming to us for awhile now, unfortunately no matter how happy we have tryed to make her or how much time we spend with her she NEVER seems to leave happy. The other day your sister came in and I happily took her back because the other stylist that was there had previously cut her hair but felt she was not able to make her happy last time.
You're sister sat down and during her consultation became disrespectful to me, saying things to me like, "I'm the hairdresser and I should know what I'm doing." And "I should just cut her hair because it's my job." Again, this was during her consultation, the part of my job where I'm supposed to be consulting with her so I can give her the haircut that she wants. And knowing she normally leaves unhappy I was really trying to have a nice solid consult with her to try to turn things around, I WANTED her to leave happy this time. But she refused to consult with me. She wouldn't give me anything to work with besides, "JUST CUT IT." Maybe this is part of the reason why she always leaves unhappy and the stylist working with her always feels defeated.
At this point I felt I haven't even begun yet and she's already not happy, I also felt belittled and disrespected by the way she was talking to me like I was a complete idiot all because I wanted to understand what she wanted me to do. I explained to her that our job is to make people feel good and we truly work hard to do so, the last thing we want is to make ANYONE unhappy.
I knew I wasn't going to be able to do that for her. She ripped her cape off and then approached the other stylist who was busy with another customer and became confrontational with her. The other stylist had to literally say to her "Mam, please. I am with a customer right now." At this point I walked up to the front to take care of the other customers waiting. She then came back up to me apologizing to me for being disrespectful and literally begging me to sit back down with her and cut her hair. She told me she was just having a bad day and didn't know she was being difficult but that maybe she is a difficult person and she was sorry (those were her EXACT words) I agreed to give it another shot. Again, I was determined to make her happy that day. We sat back down and I cut her hair, we talked, I listened, and I "thought" I made her happy, she told me she would be back and she was going to specifically ask for me. When she got up she even asked to hug me and I hugged her. When she left other customers commented on how well I handled the situation. One actually said, "Some people you just won't EVER be able to make happy."
I am sorry we weren't able to make your sister happy, we ALL truly tried. I hope that in the future she finds another salon that she can walk out the door with a smile on her face. read more
