Over the years the price crept up close to 200 for a cut, root touchup and a few foils. The last time I went it was 228 and I was shocked. But I didn't say anything. I was gone for a two months and when I came back-- this time it was 273. I don't normally ask for details on why so high. I'm sorry to say I will have to look elsewhere.

I have been a regular client of PRive salon in Newtown center for some time. Loved every stylist…read morethere until today. The lady who did my shampoo was very professional and nice. Although the stylist, level 3, was not fit for her level. I mentioned to her that i wanted layers, and she first said that she will cut layers after styling. That is the first i am hearing. Then she changed her mind and did layers right after the cut, very rushed. Then with styling, i had asked for outward curls, whereas she did inwards. As i pointed tthat her technique was not wrong, she mentioned that it was my hair that was a problem. My teen-age son who never paid attention to my hair today asked me what was wrong with my hair. There you go! LOL (2 stars are for the friendly front desk staff and shampoo lady.)

I found the Owner, who cut and colored my hair (because my regular stylist had left for another…read moresalon), was fairly rude, and didn't listen. Beyond asking what I was looking for, she never asked me one question or spoke to me at all (and I was there for well over 3 hours), except to defend her reasoning for not doing my hair the way I specifically requested. I found this strange, given I was giving them another chance, because I really like my former stylist. You would think an Owner would want to at least attempt to build a relationship of some type; or just be kind. One more note, while my hair was fine (not horrible), not one person could tell I had anything done, after almost 4 hours there and over $400 for a cut, single process and highlights.

The reason for my low rank is the significant price increase. I paid $45 in January (preCOVID), $55 in July and $65 in September. I understand some price increase, but that is just TOO much. Customers pay the same price for cut only and cut and style. Time is money, it is less time for a cut only and should be reflected in the price. I will just go less often. Too bad. Their loss....

I am sorry to have to write this review about my recent appointment at Chateau Blu, but it was an…read moreincredibly negative experience. I purchased a Groupon for a Keratin treatment as I have for the past two years. I've previously had good experiences at this salon. My appointment was with Milena, the owner of the salon. When I arrived, she informed me that she misplaced the Keratin treatment and would be giving me a Brazilian Blowout instead. I inquired about this treatment and Milena told me that it is an upgraded treatment. I trusted Milena- which proved to be a mistake. Milena washed my hair, then applied the treatment. She blow-dried my hair and then flat ironed it. That was the end of my in-salon treatment. It was a quick process- unlike the Keratin which takes a bit longer. Milena was friendly and we had a great conversation during the treatment. She gave me a bottle of 'ion bonding' spray and instructed me to rinse my hair after 24 hours, then apply the spray and blow-dry and flat iron my hair. After that, she recommended washing my hair within 72 hours. Once I got home, I googled the Brazilian Blowout as I was unfamiliar with the product and was surprised to see that the procedure that Milena followed was different than the procedure that I read about on the Brazilian Blowout website. I emailed Milena to inquire about this and she assured me that I should follow the procedure as she described in the salon. The next day, I still had an uneasy feeling, so I contacted Brazilian Blowout customer service. The rep that I spoke with told me that Milena did not follow proper procedure and was shocked that I left the salon with the chemicals still in my hair. He instructed me to rinse my hair immediately as the chemicals can cause serious damage to my hair. After doing this, I contacted Milena who, unfortunately, insisted that she was correct in her procedure and did not offer any solutions to make this situation right. This is where the communication ended and she has since ignored my further attempts to contact her. I can't even begin to write how stressful and disappointing this experience has been. Please be careful before going to this salon!
