I have been going to this Salon for 3 years now, and this is the first time I am extremely disappointed with them and their costumer service.
Back in November, I called them to ask if they did hair for weddings. They told me I would need to speak to the owner and come in with pictures of the girls' hair. I came back in in December with most of my bride's maids and pictures they had of the hair style they wanted, along with hair accessories they wanted to use. We walked in and the receptionist was very rude and told us we would need to come back when the owner was present. That's hard to do with 7 bride's maids who all live in different states.
I called back later in December and was told to make an appointment in February. I put an alert in my phone to call them on February 1st and I did. The owner was not there and I was told to call back the next day when he was in at 11:00am. I called back, and he was busy with a customer and I was told he would call me back. I waited a few days, no call. I called again, and I was given the same story that he would be in the next day at the same time to work with a customer. Again, I was told he would call me back. He did not. This went on for about a week until he finally answered and gave me his email address. He gave it to me so fast and with such jumbled wording that I wondered if he even knew I was trying to write it down. I had to ask him for it 3 or 4 times and he did not sound happy that he had to repeat himself. He ended the conversation quickly, hanging up before I could even finish my last sentence.
I emailed him pictures and information about the wedding. He never responded. I called again. They said his email wasn't working and asked if I could text him. The email was very involved as I have myself, 7 bride's maids, my mother and my soon to be mother-in-law. I told them this was impossible since the email was very involved. They asked if I could come in to meet with him, and I asked what times and they said during the week between 11am-1pm. I work as a teacher so those hours are impossible and it didn't seem as though it was negotiable on their part.
They asked me to send the email again, and I did. He responded, but it was very hard to read. His grammar made it very difficult to understand what he was saying. He had a general time of when we should start the hair and a price for all the girls. Nothing about a deposit or overall price, just individual prices and a general time to start. I emailed him back with questions and asking if we could book a time, no response.
I texted him and he responded to that and mentioned a deposit. I asked him how much it would be (a deposit did not surprise me, but since he had not mentioned it before I wanted to know how much it was). He didn't respond, so I texted him again the next night and he told me, "He was sure he sent this all in a prior email". He did not. His emails came off as if he didn't care and was simply responding on his phone when he had the time.
The prices also didn't match up with the overall price he was going to charge me. My fiance and I sat down and added the numbers 3 different ways and tried to compare it to the end price he gave me and it just didn't add up. The prices were fair and I would have been willing to pay them if I felt as though he would have even shown up the day of the appointment.
Overall, I was upset at the lack of communication, the fact that I had to pester him to get any response and when they did respond, it seemed to be with little to no interest. I was going to be giving them a lot of money, and the least I would have liked back was to work with my schedule and at least respond with full details through a coherently written email. If they weren't able to accommodate such a large party on such an important day, then they should have just said that and i wouldn't have wasted a month of my life trying to set an appointment with them for the most important day of my life. read more
