I have been going to Avante (now Kindred) for about 5 years now and I love it. The salon is very clean, good products in house and the scalp massage OMG. Check in and out is easy and parking is close. I love my girl, Caitlin. I would highly recommend Kindred to everyone! read more

I had a terrible experience here. I went to the manager to communicate nicely about a bad blowout I had. She was rude, defensive and difficult to deal with. Mistakes happen, but the way they are corrected makes all the difference between a professional and an ignorant employee. I will not return nor recommend Avante in Exton. read more

Beware Bad Covid Policies!!!! With Covid we are all unfortunate victims of last minute changes and unforeseen tragedies, losing business and money as a result is now a regular. In my commission based field, I've been taking a lot of financial hits due to Covid. I get it. But I suggest finding a salon with a better cancellation policy, and with enough tact and kindness to not punish a person for having two young children battling Covid. I was told by the manager that "I could have given them more than two hours notice" with what can only be described as the equivalent of an eye roll, this after explaining that I was up all night with a miserable baby and a worrying fever. My "excuses" of exposure and a DEATH were apparently not as important as Danielle's 3 hours without me in the chair. I found a salon with a far better policy, closer! They are out there. This isn't one of them. read more

First appointment EVER at Avanté yesterday. (I'm new to the area). Rachel is an incredible stylist. Recently promoted, so she's a bit pricier but totally worth they money! I absolutely cannot recommend her enough. She totally transformed my broken, sad, destroyed-from-hair-dye/bleach hair to beautiful, soft, healthy locks! (See image - I'm so embarrassed about my before picture but my after one looks like it's straight from Pinterest). I will absolutely be back - stop reading this review & book your appointment at Avanté! read more

Jeanne Words cannot express how amazing she was today. My first visit there with a head full of cheaper salon foil highlight and haircut that made me look like a frumpy woman with no self esteem Invest in yourself please it's so well worth the money. Jeannie made me so comfortable like I have known her a long time. The haircut compliments my face and her choice of hair color looks so natural ii am more confident in my appearance and she gave me back my self esteem Jeannie is now my only stylist and professional hair colorist for me. Let me add im in the self care beauty business and Jeannie will now be my go to stylist and professional colorist for all of my clients Thank you for making my first experience relaxing and enjoyable read more

Actually traumatizing. I went for a simple trim and long layers with Danielle and after a very rushed and aggressive appointment, I left feeling frustrated. After getting home I realized that my hair is a different length on my left side than my right. Danielle was chopping my hair very fast, yanking my head with it. I will never be returning and I suggest you do the same. If you do decide to waste your money at this salon ensure it is not with Danielle. read more

I highly recommend Karen at Avanté. I have never been more in love with my highlights. She made them look so natural, by far the best color job I've ever had. read more

I have been going to Avante for years. Rachel Turley cuts my hair as well as my son's. She does a consistently wonderful job, even with our problematic poker straight hair. She even manages to tame my son's wild cal-lack. Rachel's forte is amazing color in bold and beautiful combinations. If you are looking for a great place, this is it, with Rachel highly recommended! read more

I will never go to anyone other than Rachel anywhere, she's that good! Most of the time I ask her to surprise me with my hair because I trust her judgement more than my own. She's also super friendly and personable so enjoy an overall incredible experience. read more

I found Rachel when I decided I wanted to color my hair an unusual color. When we had a consult, she said, "My job is to make your hair look expensive." Perfect! Now don't get me wrong. It IS expensive. But my hair looks AMAZING. If you want vivid color, Rachel is your stylist! read more

A few months before my wedding, I was in search of a good salon and really needed to find one for myself and bridesmaids the day of the wedding. I reached out to the contact for the Avante on the Go services and got pricing and stylists for myself and wedding party for the day of the wedding. I immediately scheduled an appointment with Krystal for a cut and color. She is awesome!!! We chatted about the wedding party and what I was thinking for the wedding. I was able to go back a few times before the wedding including my trial. She was able to give me an updo for my bridal shower and Danielle did a mini makeover, so I felt my best on the day of the shower!! The wedding day was perfect. Krystal and Bella did a truly awesome job and every girl was VERY happy with their hair style. They drove into the city bright and early and had everyone finished with time to spare. I will be going back to Krystal for my regular cuts / colors. I recommend her and the salon to everyone!! read more

I recently had my hair and makeup done here for my wedding and all I can do is rave about the overall experience. Dottie the wedding coordinator was so helpful and accommodating with setting up a large number of appointments for my bridal party. The day of the wedding me and my bridesmaids and mom/mother in law left the place looking like movie stars! They take their time and have great attention to detail. Lindsey did my hair and it looked perfect! She does fabulous up-do's. I received so many compliments the day of my wedding and it held up until the very end of the night! I highly recommend their services and I have already recommended this salon to other friends who are getting married. read more

I have been a client at Avante for at least 4 or 5 years. I started out with a stylist who ended up moving, and I have been getting my cuts and color done by Celeste ever since. It can be difficult to change stylists especially when you are happy with your look, but the transition couldn't have gone better. Celeste is a GREAT stylist. I trust her knowledge and skills and my hair always looks great afterwards. To be able to find a hair stylist that you can trust and always get consistent results with is PRICELESS! Avante has very flexible hours with weekends and evenings available for appointments. Plus, if you book your next three appointments in advance, you get a discount on your third appointment. Their prices for services are also very reasonable. And I am happy to say that unlike some Main Line salons, they do not charge you extra for a blow out after your hair cut! Highly recommend salon! read more

I've been going to Avante on Main since it opened about 5 years ago and it's a wonderful salon. Frank and Dottie are my primary stylists for hair cuts and color. They really listen to what you want and always deliver a fabulous look. Caitlin also curled my hair for a special event last week and did a wonderful job. The receptionists Amanda and Vienna are always helpful on the phone and in person. I don't have kids but I see children in the salon often and they seem to be well cared for. If you need a haircut or a color treatment, definitely check out Avante on Main! read more

This review is for the wax service. I've never had a bad wax experience until today. I got my eyebrows and lip waxed, and came home thinking the redness would go away. 12 hours later, my face is still red and my skin broke out like crazy. It spread onto my cheeks (I don't know how), and there are bumps everywhere. It looks like I have hives. read more

Michele Cusick is an amazing stylist and colorist but there are many talented stylists in this salon! Make sure you call well in advance for an appointment (especially with Michele). The app has been extremely useful for scheduling, as well! read more

I had never been here before and called on Thursday afternoon to book a 10am Saturday. I took whoever they had available since I wasn't familiar with anyone and got Corey. This is the first hair cut I've had in about a year so i really needed it. Corey did exactly what I asked for, made me feel at ease and was polite. The salon itself is large and there are lots of stylists. It's clearly very popular by the volume of people I saw in the hour I was there. $40 for my haircut and I would definitely go back again. read more

I have been going to to Avante On Main Street for the last 4 years, they are great! I go to Michelle she is the best. When I bring in a picture we talk about it and do a style and color that works best for my hair. If you are new to the area and are looking for a new salon i highly suggest Avante On Main Street, ask for Michelle she is wonderful! read more

I was a bit early but still ended up waiting for 45 minutes. Then I was rushed and felt as if I was inconveniencing her. It was loud. There was no real consult other than her clear distaste when I said I was thinking about bangs again. When scheduling the appointment I specifically pointed out I had long hair. When she went to dry my hair she seemed annoyed and said next time I need to let them know my hair was long so they knew to allow more time. I sent a message to svante about my concerns and never got a response. Disappointed to say the least. Plz note in the picture, I asked her not to touch my long layers which she thankfully did not. The length that was cut at avante looks like I just put it in a pony tail and chopped off the end. read more

After my last review, I got a call from Avante's manager to come in and speak with her. They apologized for my last service and asked if I would be willing to come in and get it fixed. I went back in, and 5 hours later I have to hair I wanted. Gabriella worked her a** off to get me the mermaid hair I asked for after finding out the specific color had been discontinued from the line. I understand bad days, I understand mistakes. I am beyond words happy with my hair now and very thankful that Avante salon offered to right their wrong. I will now be a regular there. 5 star service. read more

My mother in law went for a hair cut last week with Casey. She came over afterwards in tears. She went in with a picture of exactly what she wanted, gave instructions and her hair is completely butchered. She let the hair dresser and receptionist know that she wasn't happy and nothing was done. read more

Nice atmosphere and people, but I wouldn't describe it as exceptional. I get a basic men's cut and it is reasonably priced. I'll continue to go to them, but I'm not particularly "wowed" by anything. read more

This salon is so hit or miss depending on who u go to. I don't usually go to the same person being that I'm always last minute when scheduling appointments so I take whoever is available so could be my fault but this recent time I'm very disappointed. Hair shampoo was terrible hardly even washed it. Pretty much rushed through no massage nothing. Stylist was unfriendly read more

Seriously, Frank, Rachel, Caitlin Lilly and Jules....they have all been fantastic. So glad I found this place!

I've been an avante customer for almost two years. I had horrible luck in the past with salons closing or my stylist leaving. I called avante explained what I was looking for and they set me up with Kate, Love her! I ended up telling my mom about avante and now she is a regular there too! Kate is who I primarily go to but I have had Lindsey do an updo for me and she did a great job! I got married this past September and had my bridal party go into the salon for hair and makeup - every single updo was amazing! And every single stylist/make artist was phenomenal! I am very glad I found avante and would recommend to anyone looking for a great cut/style! read more

I've been staying in the area for three months, I live in the South, far from my regular stylist. My hair needed help bad. I looked at the reviews and downloaded their app, which lets you access last minute discounted appointments. I chose a next day appointment with Rich for a partial highlight and cut. Rich did a great job, my hair looks so much better and he gave good advice about products to use. This is a busy place with lots of stylists and clients. Recommend Rich and this salon!! read more

Michele Cusick is amazing!! such a great person and does excellent color. would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Love Hans! He has been cutting my hair for more than a year now and has done an incredible job with my color and cuts ~ At my first appointment I was completely gray and looking for a big change - and I got it! A beautiful base color with incredible highlights. He was so supportive and creative in helping me this big decision - after creating my dimensional color design - I looked 10 years younger! I recently challenged him again - I wanted to go from a conservative shoulder-length bob to a sporty SHORT hair style ~ don't know who was more excited - me or Hans! The outcome - AWESOME ! I love my new cut and my family and friends were floored with the change and I get compliments galore! Great stylist - great salon!! My highest recommendation ~ read more

I've been getting my hair colored and cut by Dani Black for several years -- for as long as she's been at Avante On Main Street. She always does a stellar job and she's so friendly!! I have followed Hans for almost 11 years and continue to see him at Avante. I have always been thrilled with my hair cut and color. Has is awesome! Hans is the best! read more

Different people gets different treatment. A racist place. If you get late they compromise on your services but if others get late they are welcomed with no issues. You are given bullshit explanations. read more

Caitlin was great! Went here for the first time last week, made a last minute appointment (booked online and saved 20%!). I got in with Caitlin and will follow up with her from now on. Avante on Main is a beautiful and inviting salon. The staff at the front desk, or really anyone on staff, is always pleasant and welcoming. Most important my stylist: CHISTIE B. - Christie is terrific. She is one of the best when it comes to color, cut, and styling ... She works quickly; however, never makes you feel you are being rushed so she can get to the next client. Most important, she listens to what I want done, and discusses what would look best. I never leave unhappy-which has not been true of other salons- and everyone I have recommended has been just as happy! read more

If I were reviewing Hans, there wouldn't be enough stars, he's that good. But I'm reviewing the salon. Every time I call I have at least a 5 minute hold time on the phone to simply make an appointment. I'm originally from NY and even the top salons aren't that busy that they keep a client waiting an absurd amount of time to make an appointment. To add insult to injury, the last time I called, on hold for over 6 minutes, I was disconnected. So Avante, if you want to be known and considered an upscale salon, you need to stop making clients jump through hoops to be connected to the location of the caller's choice and have enough staff to answer the clients call in a timely manner. That's customer service 101 that you need to implement. read more

I went there one time and my hair is literally ruined. I have fine, delicate hair and the color is nowhere near what I asked for (showed several pictures that I brought to avoid this). It is so over-processed that it looks like straw. I am telling everyone who asked what happened not to go to Avanté. Their "Redken certified" colorists may need a refresher class. read more

I just went in with a wedding party and thought the service was great but the outcome of the hair product was really bad. Kate C did my hair and took a long time and was great to work with but Celeste did my girls (ages 7 and 9) and their hair was falling out within one hour of leaving salon and $50 !!!! per kids that was a bit much. There were two other kids there ages 3 & 4 with almost no hair and they charge $50 for each. The hair should have been $10 or $15 at the very most. Another bridesmaids hair starting falling out on the car ride back to the hotel I am not sure who did her hair. My final thought is they are over priced read more

Really nice team here at Avante. It was my first time visiting the salon last month and I was given the red carpet treatment. The stylist asked lots of questions and cared about my hair and making sure she had all the correct information. The cut was great and then to top it off, I got a 20% coupon for next time and a free welcome kit with all sorts of goodies inside. I'll definitely be back. read more

Never stepping foot in here again! After a foil and cut, I got home and realized the back looked ridiculous and not at all even--major blonde/dark brown contrast. I reluctantly called the stylist to explain my concern ( first time ever calling with a "hair problem") and she was rude and told me its what I asked for and if I want it fixed, I have to make an appointment with the front desk and pay again. I then spoke to a manager who said I would not have to pay, but when I went in for the "fix" the stylist was cold, rude, and abrupt! She repeatedly explained to me why it was my fault that things went wrong with the initial appointment. I am not a dramatic person and never complain about customer service experiences, but I wanted to cry the entire time I was there. I will go to the Avante in West Chester again, but never to Exton again. read more
