Hair Cuttery has always been my go to, and if you are as familiar with this chain as I am, you'll understand the stylists really make or break the whole experience. Hair Cuttery in Whiteland Towne Center (Exton, PA) is hands down the best location I've been to. The stylist I use regularly is Sarah and she is not only a ray of sunshine, she's highly knowledgeable when it comes to different hair types. For me I never really went for a hair cut and discussed any hair issues until this year. My hair just started bugging me more often than not. so when I went to this location earlier this year I went with the intent to discuss my specific annoyances with my hair. Sarah was my stylist and she explained to me my individual strands of hair were thick and she suggested thinning it a bit. We conversed some more so I could fully understand - she was very clear and patient and once I gave her the go ahead I was downright floored at the results. I mean my hair not only felt healthy it felt HAPPY. Personally I also love that she talks me through what she's doing and why every step of the way, all the while we talk about our lives and anything else to just chit chat. This Hair Cuttery is home to the most genuine, down to earth, and upbeat stylists. I HIGHLY recommend this location Hair Cuttery. (Trust me I've been to other locations of Hair Cuttery and I'll never go back). I've dealt with multiple stylists at this location and can say with the most confidence these stylists have passion for their work and they want to make sure you as the customer are happy, educated, comfortable, and confident when leaving their salon. Nicole did a great job cutting my hair. She was friendly and listened to how I wanted my haircut.

My husband got his hair cut there earlier today, and I honestly cannot believe he paid for this. His hair is very easy to cut, i've done it myself a couple time, so I don't know how someone who is supposed to be a "professional" screwed it up this bad. The "stylist" left a big chunk of long uncut hair in the back, the front is choppy and uneven, and she gave him some Amish style straight cut bangs for good measure. I can guarantee this will be his first, and last time at Hair Cuttery. The only reason they got one star is because you can't give zero. read more

When I told Kayla we had a 12:30 appointment and have been waiting a long time, she got very defensive and said in an insincere matter that she was sorry we had to wait. I have been a customer of Hair Cuttery in both Newtown Square and Exton for over 20 years. I have always been very pleased with the caliber of those who personally take care of clients. I've been to expensive salons in the area, and honestly switching to Hair Cuttery to save money didn't sacrifice quality of customer service and hair styling/cutting. Definitely ask for Piper or Michelle. They are so nice and do a phenomenal job. They usually don't have a long wait, but call ahead of time anyway to save yourself time Incase! As someone who's picky about my hair, they did a great job both times I've been so far. Had great conversations with the stylists and the atmosphere was great. The music though was...interesting. Go only if you feel lucky. The Good: Not much except It did not take long to get my toddler's hair cut. The Bad: It is not only the worst hair cut my 3-year has had, it's the worst I've ever seen. Once it comes off there's nothing you can do but wait for it to grow back. Unfortunately, it may have to be cut very short so it can grow back nicely. This place just can't keep good staff and those that have been there awhile think they're too good to cut the general Public's hair. I checked in at 12:00. I told the lady checking me in that I wanted me roots done. I have highlights in my hair. I was unaware that I had to say that I wanted to have my roots and my highlights done. You can see I have highlights and I have obvious roots. ( If she had asked me about my highlights, I would have told her that yes, I wanted to continue my highlights. ) The lady checking me in, told me there wouldn't be anyone available until 2:00 pm. So I walked around the shopping center for almost 2 hours. I returned to Hair Cuttery and at 2:10 someone took me back. Upon sitting in the chair, the hairdresser asked me, "What are we doing with your color?" I said I want it exactly like it is right now. She said "I don't have time to do highlights." She asked another stylist who said she wouldn't have time until 4:30, 2 1/2 more hours, no I don't think so. They asked if I wanted to make an appointment. I declined that offer to because one simple question would have saved me a lot of aggravation. I will not be back. read more

Their scheduling of stylists has gotten extremely bad. Even when you sign in online and you are given an arrival time, you are told you have to wait another 30 to 45 minutes. What is the point of signing in online and having an arrival time then? The stylists are very nice but the scheduling is so bad that I recommend to not go to the Exton, PA location. read more

Hair Cuttery at this location can be busy during weekends. Lots of customers coming in. Service is great. They try to get everyone in and out as fast as they can. It's $17 for a men's haircut without shampoo. My hair came out fine but I had my hair cut better at another place for cheaper. They accept walk-ins and recommend appointments as it can be busy at times. Cash and credit cards are accepted. read more

Yikes! A "specialist" colored and cut my hair. Ok the cut was good, but the color... Let's say I should have saved the few bucks and used black shoe polish. It was awful and ugly. I should have realized that the process was going end in folly, because the stylist arrived 30 minutes late. The rest of the salon was in chaos. Too many customers and not enough help. I finally bought a box of Oops! to stop having hair look like a horse's tail. Come on ladies get your act together. read more

Horrible, nasty staff. When I arrived @ 4:45 pm, I was told a 30 minute wait. At 5:45 pm, I was still sitting there when I noticed two staff members whispering and looking at me. One of the staff (? assistant) came up to me and said Amir (the stylist -not sure if spelling correct) can't cut your hair now because she is the only stylist here and has a color coming in at 6 pm. I asked if the color appointment could wait since I waited an hour. I was rudely told "NO". They were not even the slightest bit apologetic. They basically watched me sit there for an hour and then kicked me out!! No customer deserves that. What an awful place of business staffed with ignorant people. I guess it was a blessing in disguise because she probably would have ruined my hair. read more

I wish I could give 0, or minus points I got haircut by a skinny girl with long black hair, just asked for simple straight cut with layers, arms length and got ear long cut, not so straight (when I straighten it at home I saw steps) and no layers at all, and her comment "I cut bit more so you won't have to come back so fast" wtf?? but I have to say she covered her mistakes so good so when I left I thought I had good haircut, till I washed my hair at home and tried to style them go any other place, coz no one can screw your hair more than that girl read more

went to HC Exton for over a year. Dissatisfied w/haircut and beautician who seemed in her own little world. Haircuts were bad and good, mostly bad, which is why I can't recommend them. Shop looks dirty, messy and badly needs updating. she didn't use a towel to keep clothes from getting wet; prices are way too high for a franchise - am now getting hair cut from small owner operated shop for 1/2 the price @HC, and not just a quick and dirty clip job - but one that is well styled and looks much better.
