We all know that our hair finds a way to have its say at the end, no matter how well you try to tame it. That notwithstanding, we all love a good haircut. We want one that is sophisticated and trendy and we want to enjoy the experience. The thing is there are good places offer that well but they are few. One of them is Philly Bloke. I have great things to say about these guys. They are patient and take their time to know me. I've been there twice now and both times I saw that they were trying to gather my style and I could easily see that they knew how to deliver. I asked for Oswaldo both times and he was incredible at figuring out what I liked. I didn't like some of the options he offered but I can see how each of them would have worked. I might try one of those in a future visit. The two times I was there, I went with one of his options that I figured was good for me. It turned out perfect. One thing I'd do differently if I was them is to open up the place some more. Most high end places have a more open concept and this just didn't feel like that. read more

Well, that was short lived. I need to change my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars and that is being generous. Amanda is no longer working there so I was handed off to Emily. She asked how I wanted the cut but did not listen to anything I told her and she proceeded to do her own thing. She did not offer a mirror so I could check the back hair line and it was not until I got home that I flipped out. I made my normal 3 week appointment when I left but had to cancel out and told Eric that I would not be back. I really hesitated to leave a negative review but now it is going on 4 weeks and my hair still has not grown back to where it can be reshaped to look professionally styled. read more

After a couple lame cuts at the barber closest to me, I read some reviews about barber shops within a reasonable distance and this led me to Philly Bloke. Been getting my haircut here for a year now and the quality is consistent. Whenever I get a compliment on my beard, I say all credit goes to my barber. In fact, I would probably ditch the beard if I stopped getting my hair cut here because I would have no one to help me control it and I would look homeless/duck dynasty-ish. Eric and Cory have both done terrific jobs on my hair (according to the Mrs) but I would feel comfortable getting a cut by the other stylists I have met. I wouldn't be surprised if my wife started sending Cory thank you notes behind my back. The new location is pretty sweet. I was worried, but I think it's a huge upgrade. Parking is easier and it's cheap. Was not a fan of cold brew coffee until I tried it here. Great place to relax, talk music or sports, and get trimmed up. read more

I'm really happy I found this place in my area. Each time I've gone it's been the best haircut I've ever received. Grows in well and lasts really long. I used to be itching to get a new cut every 2-3 weeks, but now 5 weeks go by and I don't even notice. Super friendly and talented staff who listens to what you want and can execute a perfect cut without extra direction. It should be noted that they will be moving to downtown Wayne in the New Year, which is a much easier location to get to. Highly recommend! read more

I've been coming to Philly Bloke regularly over the past year and I couldn't be happier with the haircuts that I've gotten from Brandon. He is very skilled with scissor and razor work (in my case, mild fades) and his haircuts grow out very nicely over the course of 4-5 weeks (short - short/medium hair length).
