I clicked her profile and within a minute I was direct messaging her to set up an appointment. She is, deservedly so, in high demand so I booked her next open spot (a month later). And let. Me. Tell. You. The wait was worth it!! She took my raggedy grown out balayage and gave me the blonde bombshell highlights I had dreamed of. If you've ever gotten highlights, you know the process takes hours. Michelle was great and kept me informed of every step along the way (how much longer the dye needed, when/why she was adding toner, what products she used during my blowout, etc.) Unfortunately I forget Michelle's assistant's name but she was also amazing. Looking forward to my next appt! COVID safety note: upon arrival, clients waited outside until their name was called. Once inside, temperatures are taken. Every other salon chair was used and hair wash stations were separated by plexi glass.

I was hesitant on the price as the services are priced by stylist experience but she was worth the money! She was professional, courteous, and sweet! The salon was clean and inviting. All of the stylists seemed friendly and the front desk staff was very helpful. Took off one star because the shampoo bowls are SO uncomfortable. I've never found a salon that had one that wasn't slightly uncomfortable, but this is one of the worst I've ever used. The back of my neck and head today is bruised to the touch from the bowl. The stylist that shampoo'd my hair did a great job and it was nothing to do with her work! Just super painful while your neck is bent back. Hopefully someone can create a padded bowl for salons to use!

Day 1 Two of my friends recommended microblading to me…read more I got impulsive, I saw a groupon and called the artist Jackie whose phone number was on the groupon page. She said I could go in on the same day at "Salon d'artist" in Wayne PA . She is very personable and I liked her. She gave me an hour of service. I was happy with the result and venmoed her the groupon price $240 (as friends and family so she didn't need to pay fees). I was planning to tip her at the second touch up service. Jackie gave me instructions to apply aquaphor every couple of hours and take lukewarm showers. Jackie also told me that 40% of my microblading color would be gone and there was no need to worry. She would fix everything for me with a follow up touch up service which usually takes 10-20 minutes I followed Jackie's instructions of applying aquaphor every couple of hours and didn't take a shower until day 4. Day 4: When I got up I was upset to see a big piece of scalp peeled off my eyebrow without any color left . I sent a picture to Jackie right away and she said my skin was too dry. I explained the picture was taken right after I got up from bed . She said she would fix it. I said Thank you and told her I would start taking lukewarm showers. After I took my shower, while applying aquaphor, a lot more scalps fell off from my eyebrows. I texted Jackie, she said it's too much scabbing. Day 8 My eyebrows became ugly. Too much color was gone. I would say compared to day one 80% of the color has been gone. I texted Jackie the photos and said I was extremely upset with the result and it shouldn't be like that. I said I didn't want the touchup service and asked for a $200 partial refund . Jackie said she would get back to me later. I said I would wait until the next day. Day 9 I texted Jackie for an answer and she got back to me. She kindly took consideration of my pain during the first service and agreed the second touch up service wouldn't work for me. She said she would need to talk to the salon Manager JoAnn and possibly partially refund me. She asked me to wait 3 or 4 days as JoAnn was on vacation. Day 14 I asked Jackie whether she talked to her manager. Jackie asked me to call JoAnn . I called JoAnn , her only words to me were "We wouldn't do anything for you unless you came in". So we made an appointment. Day 20 I arrived on time for the appointment. Jackie was having clients. JoAnn and I briefly went over the whole thing in the waiting area. She said she would look at my eyebrows at Jackie's room when Jackie became available as the waiting area was too dark. About about 30 minutes' wait, Jackie, JoAnn and I had the discussion. Here is the summary of our arguments: JoAnn and Jackie didn't deny my eyebrow result was bad. JoAnn and Jackie said it's normal to have bad results after the first service and sometimes it might take 2 or 3 times of the touch up service. . JoAnn insisted that I wouldn't let them finish the service so she would not refund me. I insisted that I wasn't warned that the first time service result could be this bad and I was expecting better results and the touch up is mostly to repair small areas. In my case if the touch up is supposed to fix it, it would take much more time than the first time service and it might even take two trips . I do not want to go through the same process again: being questioned about not applying enough aquaphor, and looking at my mirror every day and getting upset. At the end, I made it clear to JoAnn that I didn't ask for a full refund. Since I didn't want the touch up service which probably would take much longer than the first time service, why wouldn't she refund me partially? She said she would get back to me. Day 21 JoAnn hasn't got back to me. I have to mention Jackie is always nice. She never dodged my messages. She kindly offered to clean up my eyebrows (remove residual ink in some areas as it's too ugly). JoAnn seems to be a charming person despite being scary on the phone. It's just this experience is too disappointing for me and it took so much of my time and my energy. ------------ editing to add: Late in the afternoon, JoAnn sent me an email but she twisted many details in the email. I cleared up her misstatements in my reply. ----------- editing to add: Even the transaction happened initially between me and Jackie, when Jackied asked me to deal with JoAnn, out of respect for Jackie I didn't pressure Jackie. JoAnn challenged me to go to BBB or a local court. I did go to BBB. Then Jackie started to harrass my company saying I am malicious? I finally realized Jackie wasn't innocent as I thought she was. She is complicit.

Ian is one of the most fantastic hair stylists I've ever gone to. I've been dying my hair for over a decade and have spent countless hours in the salon chair with a lengthy list of different stylists. Ian exceeded my expectations and I will literally follow him off the edge of a cliff if he says so. Not only is he amazing at what he does but he also is one of the sweetest, most genuine people ever. Ian takes the time to discuss what it is about your hair you like/dislike and offers solutions/ ideas to work with. I'm convinced Ian can execute any color, style, etc. Ian cares deeply about his clients and goes out of his way to make you feel special and heard. I used to dread getting my hair done but to say this was a pleasant experience would be the biggest understatement in history. When your hair appointments take hours you see the difference between someone who loves what they do and someone who is just doing it for an income. I immediately recognized that Ian is part of the former category and his work speaks for itself. I trust Ian with my life and will spend the rest of it singing his praises for giving me the color I've always wanted but never thought possible! I am so happy I found Mane Techniques! I saw Risa for my hair the first time I went and she did the most perfect job. She talked me through everything more clearly than any other hair stylist I've ever seen (I've seen many hair stylists over the years). Risa made me feel super comfortable and like I was actually in control of what I was doing to my hair (how it should feel every time!) she agreed that many things could come out looking great but ultimately it was my decision of what I thought would look best on me. We spent time going over options and she was so sweet about looking through my Pinterest board of hair colors and answering all of my annoying questions lol. My hair took a few hours but I felt like I was in and out! The color came out perfect and it looked so healthy from my trim. Risa also suggested a Kevin Murphy shampoo and conditioner to me for my specific hair type and it is hands down my favorite shampoo/conditioner ever! Safe to say I love Mane Techniques, I definitely recommend this salon to anyone looking for a new place. Prior to coming to Mane Techniques, I didn't have a set salon that I always relied on. I came in originally just for a consultation for hand tied extensions. Prior to this I had tape-ins and I was thinking it was time for a change. After Cara and Mary explained the whole process I decided to go for it. They were able to order my extensions that day and get me in as soon as possible. Cara and Mary -- and the whole team all worked together to make my hair perfect! They are all so sweet and made the experience absolutely amazing. They are very thorough and made sure I was 100% satisfied. I loved my experience here and will only be coming here for now on! As for my review on the hand-tied extensions, I couldn't recommend them more! They add so much volume to my hair and they're so comfortable! So easy to style and wash my hair with. Run- don't walk here! My experience was beyond amazing. My consultation with Mary was very informative. She explained the entire process with such detail that I knew exactly what to expect. Her knowledge and honesty about the products and services that I was inquiring about we're spot on. My appointment for my extensions installation was with Cara (and Ian helped.) They both were just as great and explained the entire process as they went so I knew what to expect. Once Cara was done, I felt like a literal queen. Mane techniques is the place TO GO!! The ENTIRE team is amazing and I can NOT stress that enough. Before coming to the salon my hair was in horrible condition. I was extremely self conscious about my fried off hair. Many hair dressers (at different salons) turned me down as the quality of life in my hair was extremely poor. Taylor instantly began pitching many ideas leaving me to feel a lot better. Eventually I decided to go with the hand tied extension route and can I just say, I've never looked and felt better. I have had two visits to Mane Techniques in Wayne. I have thin hair and I decided to add extensions. I couldn't be more pleased with the work Angelique did this week. Everyone in the salon is welcoming and the customer service with Christina is great.. Angelique not only listened to my concerns, when the service was finished, she asked if she could put a few waves into my hair. I was reluctant but agreed. Those waves lasted me for more than two days and I had so many compliments. I'm the kind of person who washes her hair every day but now I know I don't have to do that. Can't say enough good things about this business. They are beyond professional and accommodating. Ian colors, cuts, keratins and puts in my extensions with the precision of some kind of miracle hair scientist. He refers back to notes where I shared how I like to wear to my hair, pics and videos of previous placements, specific measurements etc. It is honestly so impressive. Ian is incredible! I am a new client of his and my hair has never looked so good. I have only been twice so far, but the two times I went, I left the salon feeling extremely happy. Hands down the best salon I've ever been to!! First time there everyone made me feel so comfortable, first time i met Mary, Cara & Ian they all made me feel at home and they never let you leave without making you feel beautiful inside and out. I was referred here by word of mouth and consider myself so very lucky! I just moved here from North Dakota and got tape ins before I moved. Cara and the entire team welcomed me in and took care of this novice extension wearer. I now have been back a few times and now have tie in extensions for the first time and I am LOVING it! I told the team when I was there that I loved how they all worked together. One will be done with a service and another will come in right behind to sweep and clean the area. Ian is the best. You will not be disappointed by talented stylists at ManeTechniques. I originally found Ian on Instagram and admired his work. My hair was a hot mess because I stopped getting it done (big mistake) during the last year of the pandemic since I was working from home. Given that the prices here are premium, I expected to tap into their marketed expertise to treat my hair woes. I am super bummed to report this salon fell short of those expectations for my visits. I don't feel that I left with amazing hair and reaching the goals discussed with the stylist, or that I even had above average service. I came in to have my roots and ends match a seemingly complex service for me, and eventually after ongoing visits to have my overall hair color lightened. The person who I saw I feel overpromised and underdelivered. Between both of my visits there were many issues which I experienced that amounted to a negative vibe. I felt that the stylist was rushing a lot during a visit which caused her to splatter my face and clothes with lightening product unapologetically. The stylist got dark hair dye which stained very visibly all over my face and was ready to let me leave this way. I had to insist to clean off my own face with wipes. The next visit I needed to remind about this and no notes were taken to proactively avoid. Despite the discussion and understanding with the stylist about what I want for my hair, I noticed there was a difference between my roots and rest of my hair after a lightening service and simultaneous root touch up. I did expect for there to be better matching - this was noticed and confirmed by a different salon which I had a consult with to treat my hair. During one visit when I asked for a hair trim, it was not very detail oriented. Later while looking at my hair, I did see many parts of my ends which weren't trimmed and still had damage. The observation about lack of detail orientation was confirmed at a the different visit. There was another stylist next to me who was obsessing over a client's cut and measuring and cutting from every which angle to ensure perfection - I did not not have anywhere close to this level of attention, QA, outcome for a less complex trim! Then I noticed they were obsessing just to post on social in their in house backdrop/lighting mini studio, which made me wonder if that level of excellence is selective. During my second visit my blow dry was not smooth at all as it was rushed due to end of the night. The service also seemed a bit unapproachable as despite me conveying I need to get in in 4 weeks she was proposing 6 weeks or at times in the middle of the work day. Who in any job can reasonably travel and step away for 2-3 hours in the middle of the work day? Not until I repeated (again), was a more creative solution proposed which would meet my conveyed needs. Egh this lack of empathy in the customer service was yet another turn off. Due to these issues I chose to not proceed with visiting this salon another time, or making it a part of my ongoing hair maintenance routine. There are many beautiful photos on IG from the stylist I saw, and I'm so bummed about my own experience having spent on a premium experience and not being able to leave with awesome hair! I really did feel this salon experience failed to wow me during either of the visits despite giving them more than one try. Given the difference of results, I wonder if this salon is selective about who/when they offer execllent service versus mediocre as I experienced which is too much a gamble when you're paying such premium prices. Unfortunately given how long this business books out, I do not feel it is a practical salon to visit if you have a fast paced lifestyle and are in need of regular hair services. I had a color correction, balayage, and hair cut done with Nichole about a month ago and she did an…read moreincredible job. I first called the studio about color correction after I used L'Oréal Colorista to put blue throughout my hair on top of my balayage. The blue would not leave; it had left a strong green color throughout most of the lightened parts of my hair. Fiber first booked me with a consultation, so Nichole could see my hair and book me for an accurate time window. She was super nice and attentive, but for booking, she didn't have any availability for over a month. When she saw how long it was though, she opened up a Saturday about a week and a half away that she had previously been off for because it was the day after her birthday. This was incredibly nice both on her part, and because I was desperate to get rid of the green hair. For the actual appointment, Nichole patiently worked through first stripping the color and then giving me a more dramatic balayage than I previously had. She really looked at the pictures I showed her and talked to me about what I wanted. I was in the salon for about four hours, and Nichole and the staff were nice and accommodating the entire time - including running out to my car multiple times to add change for parking. I love the finished look. I've gotten balayage done multiple times from several different salons, both in this area and in Manhattan, and her work is definitely among my favorite. We forgot to take a before photo, but I've included our after photo. It's been awhile now and I'm very happy with how it's growing out and fading. There was still a green tinge that showed in fluorescent lighting after Nichole was done (not her fault at all, she was honest about realistic expectations, and the dye was way more intense than I thought). However, that's gone now with her recommended use of purple shampoo, and I'm so happy with the final result. I highly recommend Nichole for color correction or for balayage!! Be sure to call in advance, they're very busy.
