I placed a pickup order through Tamale Box's website, and the whole process was super easy! They had a combo meal that came with your choice of two tamales, a side of beans, and a side of rice. You can also add chips for just $1, so I added those along with all of their sauces, guacamole, and pico de gallo. This was actually my first time trying tamales, and I was really impressed! I got the black bean tamale, and my boyfriend got the beef tamale. Everything was so flavorful and tasted really fresh. The guacamole, pico, chips, and sauces were also really good and went perfectly with the tamales. Next time, I definitely want to try their cheesy jalapeño tamales! Had a really fun little day over at Tamale Box in Kendall Yards! I didn't get the best photos because the food was so good that I just dug right in. The prices are phenomenal, and they have amazing options my favorites were the chicken chile rojo, pork chile verde, and the black bean tamales. You can get one tamal with rice and beans for $12, two for $18, and they have tons of sides, guac, pico, and even beverages like beer, seltzers, and margarita options. The service was super cool, and the vibe is chill. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall spot with about four two-person tables and one table that seats four, so you might need to take your food to go but don't let that stop you! While shopping in Kendall Yards today, Mary and I stopped here for a late lunch, our first visit; the shop is small but nicely decorated. We were greeted by friendly staff who took our order and answered our questions. We started with tasty beverages that came right out. Mary had the Chicken chili rojo tamale with rice and beans. I had the Pork chili Verde tamale. The masa was lightly steamed, soft and tender, just as it should be, both the pork and chicken fillings were tender and flavorful; delicious. The rice and beans were also very good. I'm going to start off by stating I am a Southern California native who grew up eating done if the best Mexican food, so moving up to Spokane was devastating UNTIL we found Tamale Box. We got 4 tamales-- chicken, beef, and two jalepeno cheese. We also got their guacamole and chips-- the chips were fresh and so tasty. The guacamole was amazing, I could eat it all day long. I'm so excited the Tamale Box has a brick and mortar. Normally I have to wait until the farmers markets for my tamale fix. They're located over in Kendall Yards right next to my fresh basket. Last week we got tamales and the guacamole and chips. This week we added the rice and beans. We always go for the cheese and jalepeno tamales. They are the absolute best! The masa is perfectly seasoned and is filled with cheese and peppers. The guacamole is heavenly. It is creamy and perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice. Added to there perfectly crispy chips its the perfect mouthful. The beans and rice tonight were a great additional. The tamales from Tamale Box are the best we've ever had other than those in San Jose Del Cabo which are sold from a cart in the town square. They are full of filling, unlike others that offer only a thread of filling, the meat is very lean and moist, and the masa is creamy and delicious. We ordered every variety and they are all delicious. The guacamole and salsas are fresh and citrusy and the chips are also very good. We are super pleased to have a high quality option such as Tamale Box nearby and it will be our splurge go to now. Some of our family members are gluten free, so we are especially happy that this business chose to open in the new location in Liberty Lake. Finding some of the best tamales I've EVER had in Spokane, Washington wasn't on my 2024 Bingo card but here we are. I got two tamales: Birria beef and chicken in red sauce (chile rojo).
