I will say there were very few matching pots, so I was lucky. But the prices were much better than big box stores. Very large pots were $60 here, compared to $150 elsewhere. I also got two soaker hoses for $10 each. They had a large selection of rugs, all manner of non-refrigerated groceries, pool stuff, electronic accessories, hair appliances, housewares, party supplies, etc. The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful, and signed me up for their free rewards card. And, OMG, they had GLUTEN-FREE OREOS!! I absolutely do not need to be eating cookies, but how could I resist? They were cheaper than at the supermarket. Sigh.

We pick up our lunches on the way over and find a spot to sit overlooking the expansive farm and its accompanying river. Prior to Hurricane Irene I was looking to purchase a generator. Unfortunately, I had waited until…read morethe last minute and everybody was sold out. The salesman at Carl's assured me that they were getting a delivery the next day and that I would have my generator before the storm hit, so I left a deposit. The Saturday morning before the storm hit I called and was again assured that the generators were being delivered that day, and that they would even stay open late to make sure everybody who ordered a generator was able to take delivery. Closing time was 5:00 p.m. Nobody answered the phone after that time. No generator was delivered. I finally got my generator the Monday after the storm. After all the food in my refrigerator and freezer ha to be thrown out. To make matters worse the generator I was given did not match the description of the generator on my receipt for the deposit, but I need it right away, so I accepted it and did not argue. I know I should not have waited until the last minute, but when a business guarantees to deliver a product by a certain time, it should keep its word or somehow compensate the customer with a discount or some other form of compensation, like a free oil change. A business should also deliver the same product that was promised, or once again compensate the customer in some other way.

We were heading out that way on a Saturday to do some shopping at Tanger outlets and HL is just about 1.5 miles further down Old Country Rd. Pretty standard layout for Hobby Lobby. I always make a beeline to the model airplane/car & model rockets section. Always check the Clearance aisle(s) for some greatly reduced deals. They are usually at the far corners of each store. You'll never know what you'll find while rummaging through the piles. At this HL, the clearance deals are scattered around the store unlike some other stores that centralize then or just tag the clearance items on the racks with the orange price tags that can be as much as 75%+ off the list price.

I passed by it hundreds of times on my way out to the North Fork but since I need to redo my yard, I figured I'd stop in. I was seriously impressed by the selection. Prices even for the more mature trees and plants are rather reasonable as well. They do offer delivery but that's going to hit you hardest in the wallet. The staff is hit or miss, you'll either get someone who is friendly and helpful or a complete snob. This is a great place to come for plants since they seriously have nearly everything and recommended. I just wish they were closer to where I live.
