When I questioned the woman behind the counter, she was insistent, but relented when I took back my $20 bill and told her I was in the week before and bought the same oil for $12 (that is double the price of what Home Depot charges: $5.99). She also looked it up on the Emporium True Value Hardware website (the other hardware store in town, minutes away on Main Street) and said it was $9.99 there. So I agreed to pay $12 + tax again . If I didn't say anything, they would've charged $22 plus tax. I think they just make up prices when you get to the counter (no price on item). The New York State Attorney General should look into their price gouging.

Staff isn't the friendliest and never seem to know anything. -Older man just sits in the back on his stool and never wants to get up and help a customer. I was looking for something particular and he told me where to find it, I couldn't find it and asked him if he would help me and show me exactly where and he grunted and ordered another coworker to show me. -I ordered a tool rack and after I picked it up I continued to get calls to come and get it. I could have easily picked up another one and sell it and make something off of it but I'm an honest person and kept telling them I already got it. Why they just can't update their system and make note it was already picked up is beyond me. Seems like a common sense thing to do when someone picks up an order. -I also got a very large gift card there from my in laws sent via email and they said I couldn't use it there because the bar code doesn't work. I then took the gift card over to Southold and the manager said yes the barcode doesn't work for whatever reason but I had no problem using it there and the manager said it just needs to be manually put in instead of scanning. So I went back to SI Ace Hardware I told them what Southold said and they refused to manually put it in. So now I have this gift card that I can't use in the town I live in and have to go off island to buy basic things I need for my house. It's very frustrating. Just seems like whenever I go there for something it's always an issue.

After contacting the project's designer to find out the manufacturer, I immediately went to work trying to source them. I found out that the only place anywhere near my home that might have them was Revco. I called Revco immediately and was informed me that while they did not have the lights I wanted on display in their showroom they did have a catalog I could look at and that there would be no problem ordering them for me. I went to visit their showroom in Miller Place and was greeted by Cheryl who went over every last detail with me and even looked at my online photos to make sure the light fixtures I wanted were the exact ones, size/color, she was quoting for me. She said she would be in touch with the manufacturer and email me a quote within the week. I received an email the next day! I ended up locating the fixtures on the Internet as well, on Wayfair, for 40% more than Revco quoted me. Of course, I purchased them from Revco. I was told they would be delivered on or about April 30th. I received a phone call on the 12th, they were in almost three weeks early! Yippee!!! Because of the holiday, I didn't have the opportunity to open the boxes until today. I am overjoyed. They are exactly what I wanted. I will be returning to Revco VERY SOON to make another purchase.
