I was in Eindhoven for a few days and walked by this place several times. I noticed it was consistently busy, so one evening deciding what I wanted to eat, hot noodle soup sounded good, so I left my hotel and headed out.
In my travels, I generally try to stick to restaurants serving local cuisine, but countries like Holand don't really have a local cuisine, but they do have a lot of international influence, especially Indonesian, thanks to the Dutch East Indies. While I had already dined at my favorite, "Rijsttafel" restaurant, as well as a Chinese place, I decided to dive into some Japanese food and try Takumi.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised. I was seated quickly, I ordered a cold Kirin and perused the menu. I ordered Gyoza and a bowl of Ramen.
Gyoza came quickly and was delicious, as good as any Gyoza restaurant I have been to in Tokyo. My soup came and it was delicious as well- a big bowl, fresh ingredients and a wonderful broth- and a nice spice!
My waiter was friendly and helpful, spoke good English and was attentive without being overbearing.
I would definitely come here again. read more
