    Spicy miso karaage ramen
    Sara A.

Loved the atmosphere in the markthall and the vibe of the restaraunt. I liked the spicy miso broth which was very flavorful. But was not a huge fan of the karaage. The karaage becomes less crispy pretty quick after being in the ramen soup but I imagine would be better as an appetizer. Loved the veggie gyoza as well. The service was great!

Hip Ramen joint right off the town center. We visited Den Haag on a rainy day so ramen was just what we needed. Takumi is a chain, we saw one in Antwerpen and possible Brugge too. Living in the Bay Area California and having been to Japan five times, I'm a bit picky about Ramen. Den Haag is quite international, but given Asian food in most European countries I visited (20+) has been Europeanized I didn't expect much, just noodles in hot broth will do for the rainy day. We ordered the Butatama Miso, Veggies Miso, and curry katsu chicken. Was pleasantly surprised the miso broth is quite good, ingredients were fresh, and cha-chu pork was decent. Service is friendly. Curry chicken was just a-ok. Quite crowded and mostly college students and yuppies.

Great japanese restaurant, my japanese friend said she felt like she was in a ramen / yakisoba shop in Japan! They were playing extremely modern pop japanese music as well, and the presentation of the dishes felt extremely authentic. We really enjoyed the okonomi gyoza, crispy, light, and flavorful. The yakisoba came with miso soup and seaweed salad (which is extremely rare to find here!) We got both a chicken karaage yakisoba and pork belly, and I thought the chicken karaage could be a bit crispier, but the pork belly was marinated and sliced really well! Lively atmosphere and friendly waiters as well.

    Traditional Tokyo Ramen

This is a well decorated ramen spot in the middle of a busy area. They are usually fairly busy during peak hours, thus service is fast and sometimes feels a bit rushed. I stopped by on a Tuesday before they got super packed and was super excited for a good bowl of ramen, but left a bit disappointed. This is your definition of a "fusion ramen bar". Large menu selection without any focus on a bread and butter soup/noodle base. I ordered a Tokyo traditional ramen and was immediately put off by the fact that they used grocery store quality egg noodles instead of a higher quality wheat noodle. I was still willing to give it a chance based the favorable reviews. The ensuring slurps confirmed my suspicion that this place is quite over hyped. YMMV but the traditional Tokyo soup was rather salty and full of flavor additives. The chashu portions are good, but lacks flavor, and in my opinion, under cooked. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I personally wont recommend this spot to my peeps.

Didn't expect there are so many Asian restaurants for a business trip in Netherlands. On a cold night, came to Takumi for some comfort ramen and It didn't disappoint. I ordered the black garlic tonkatsu ramen and it is legit. It helps when the noodles are imported from Sapporo's Nishiyama Seimen. Cha Su is fatty and the half volcano egg is get right. I will definitely be back and sample their curry next time.

The food is very good indeed and have been coming here for 2 years suddenly the manager get cocky and difficult in order for people to pay separately...making all feel very bad ..never heard that people cannot pay separately...

This was my first meal in Rotterdam. Maybe it was because there wasn't that much going on near the Centraal station, or because I hadn't had ramen in weeks due to traveling, but it was just perfect. The place is huge - there are basically two seating areas. I copped a spot by the wall and ordered the traditional shio ramen. Their menu is a bit confusing because it has a lot of text. But basically, most bowls come with the same toppings (cha siu pork, soft boiled egg, bamboo/menma and naruto), with slight differences. You just choose which broth you want. Their noodles are imported from Japan, and they have them hanging in a big refrigerator by the front. Really cool to see. And you definitely get to taste the difference. Really springy noodles with just the right amount of slurpability. The broth was great too. Clear but meaty. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you need a ramen fix!

    Yummy Shoyu Ramen at Takumi!!!

Here for business and had the weekend free to check out Rotterdam. Had a craving for noodles and found this gem. Spoke with one of the staff and this place has only been open for about 6 months. I had the traditional Shoyu Ramen. The food was very tasty. The service was okay, but they acknowledged and apologized about the wait and the food came very quick after that. Really yummy Ramen and very good service. Place was jammed on a Saturday night but because of how quick the food comes out the tables turn quickly. I will be back next time I make it to Rotterdam.

A new addition to the ramen-scene in this town. Across Takumi there's Set and I guess Takumi felt confident enough to take on the competition. And so quick after opening I dare to say they are winning. I had ramen and tsukemen in Japan a couple of times and also a few times in Düsseldorf (Naniwa). It's fair to say it's very hard to come close to the quality in Japan and most restaurants I've been to in Europe don't. Luckily Takumi is actually a place worth considering since a bowl in the EU (€10~€14,50) is just a bit more expensive than a bowl in Japan (+/-€10). Actually I didn't go for a bowl of ramen but for the tsukemen. The noodles are firm enough and certainly above par, nonetheless they could have a tiny bit more flavor. The dipping sauce is more watery than I'm used to but I like the mild taste. Sometimes restaurants make it very salty, which of it self happens quite often but I like it this way. Portions are relatively large, at least I wasn't disappointed. As for the ramen, the rest of the (experienced ramen eaters) table agreed Takumi does deliver and it's quality is the quality competition should aim for. They can expect a revisit in the near future!

    Vegetarian spicy ramen soup

Nice place with very friendly staff and tasty ramen soup. Not so much choice for vegetarians, but i found a vegetarian version of soup. The place is quite busy what means that the food is good. They offer matcha & black sesame ice cream which are my favorite!!! Definitely worth to come back!!!

    At takumi! Enjoying the Calpis!

Great authentic Japanese ramen. Busy place but fast service and it's worth the wait. I had tan tan men, my absolute favorite and a Calpis to drink. The ramen was nice and spicy and the noodles still had a bite. They have a variety of ramen and Japanese curry. Starters are the classics like karaage and edamame. Would definitely recommend a visit :-)!

Nice atmosphere, friendly service and the food was delicious! Definitely coming back, especially for the ramen noodles.

I got the one recommended by my waiter, the creamy veggie miso Ramen, and the lower right corner of the menu. This one is not spicy. Next time I come, I will try one of the spicy ones. I got the lychee soda, which is a little too subtle for my taste, but I find that it grows on you. They also have Kirin on draft as well as bottles of Heineken and a 0% Heineken. And of course they have green tea as well as the usual stuff. Ok, the food: these are freshly-made japanese noodles. That means there's a wait for your food, and in my experience, it was substantial. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. This experience may be a one-off, as the waiter apologized for the wait and brought me a free refill of the lychee soda. The noodles were fine, a substantial meal with lots of vegetables in the soup. I added some soy sauce as it was pretty bland. Next time I would ask for some of their black garlic oil. I would come back, if only to try the spicy dish (they describe the spicy sauce as "numbing"!), but I think this place would be great for meat eaters.

They do not take reservations, walk-ins only. As we ate, the line never got shorter, only longer. Needless to say, the expectations were super high (it didn't help that it was also recommended to me as the best ramen in all of the Netherlands). The boiled chicken gyoza was extremely average. You can get similar tasting gyoza frozen from an Asian grocery store. I tried both the signature soy and the miso ramen, and both are savory. The miso was very creamy, and (to my surprise) I found it even more salty than the soy. In the end, preferred the signature soy better. Each bowl comes with 2 sheets of nori, some wakame seaweed, half an egg, a large slice of char siu, and some spring onions. The menu doesn't actually specify what toppings comes with the ramen. There is an "extra toppings" section. However, to me, adding "extra corn", "extra bamboo shoots", etc would mean the dish already included corn, bamboo shoots, etc. But it doesn't. An easy fix is to simply list out what comes with the ramen on the menu. Also, a lack of veggies isn't necessarily a deal breaker, but the most disappointing part was the char siu. The slice was thick and tender, but quite flavorless. If it was marinated, I couldn't tell at all. On the plus side, they offer a large variety of condiments. My suggestion is to try at least one or two. Mix the condiment(s) into your spoon with a bit of soup. This way, you can taste test the combination without contaminating the rest of the bowl. I personally liked the minced garlic paste (use the stirring sticks to scoop out a small amount) and the crispy onion flakes. In addition to a variety of paid beverages, they offer free barley tea! I haven't been to a restaurant where they served free barley tea since I was in Korea, so this was a nice walk down memory lane. The barley tea was chilled, perfect for a warm summer day. I don't think this place is bad, but I've definitely had better. Price was decent, though!
